My mother just shared this story with me. I am 29 years old, I did not know Dr.Hurwitz, but my mother never forgot and my whole life speaks thanks and gratitude for her. I am 6 months away from graduating with my nursing degree. My plan is to become a nurse practitioner. You can’t convince me God doesn’t have intention is all He does!! Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy my mother’s small reminiscing devotion: “when I went into labor with you I made a trip to the hospital because I was having contractions and since they weren’t close together they sent me back home. I remember laying in the couch in pain thinking I should go back. I waited a day and went back and of course you just weren’t making your entry in the world. Then your heartbeat dipped and you went into distress. So after 2 days of labor they ended up doing a cesarean. Your doctor was Dr. Kathleen A. Hurwitz. She’s a pediatrician and is still practicing but probably close to retirement. I always remember her saying you were her miracle baby. So see Jay you were favored by God from the beginning. I prayed for your safe arrival and God told me it wouldn’t be easy but you would be okay. I always remember holding you in the hospital and feeling like someone was starting at me as I watched tv. I looked down and it was you! Staring at me with an intense look just studying me. I will never forget that. I rocked and sang to you with all my heart. Being a new mom was hard because I had to work and leave you when I didn’t want to. I was so protective of you. I still am.” Thank you for the years of love you gifted us. The only sad thing is leaving the area. As a mother of five adult children I can say Dr Kathleen is an absolutely dedicated pediatrician. The care we received for those years is surely missed. Just know if you are bringing your children to her you feel confident that they are in good hands

Dr. Hurwitz is very straight forward and brief; however, I trust her with my child's care almost explicitly. She has never failed to give us sound medical advice and answer questions when we really were in need.

just moved to the area. first time to see the doc. she was very impressive! not afraid to run test to rule out illnesses. got in within the hour!

Talk about someone who loves what she does. Dr. H and her staff are loving, compassionate, and spare nothing to care for kids. 2 am? She answers her phone. At the hospital and not happy with the care your kid's receiving? Expect that to change quickly! She's amazing!

Great Pediatrician. I used to be part of the Scripps doctors when we were in Sab Marcos. Have moved to murrieta now and had by baby in October and have since switched pediatrician me. hospital highly recommended Dr Hurwitz and now I see why. Great availability yet she has a busy practice and is always on call for emergencies something not all pediatrician me do. Definitely happy with the switch and recommend when ever possible. She was also great with my 6 year old.
