Dr. Kent Michael Johnson

I've been going to this doctor's office for several years. Like many others, the office was o, but over the years it has grossly deteriorated. I scheduled a check up appointment to get my medication refilled. I made appointment through the call center. When I got there and I was told that it was supposed to be virtual. I guess they left a message the night before. Ok fine. So I sat in my car and went ahead and did the virtual appointment. I was told to go and get blood work "give me a few minutes and I will send over the order". I waited for over 4 hours because the lab said the doctor's office didn't fax over the order to have the blood work done. Three calls later it was done. This was last Wednesday 2/22. Fast forward to 3/3 and I'm still struggling to have my prescription filled. Of course they claim they called or left messages but I only received 1 message which was today, 9 days later. Every time I call, I get the call center and then they have to call someone from the office to look into the situation. I was told today the prescription would be called in today. Needless to say, it wasn't and I am back to square one.

I think Dr Johnson and staff are excellent...I have been seeing them since 2015 and not a single complaint.

I've been going to this office for the last several years because I really liked Dr. Johnson, he would actually listen and offer services and not give me a hard time or be dismissive like so many doctors are. There was a period of time in which my insurance wouldn't cover me to go to this office so I would gladly pay out of pocket. Well, I do not know what has happened the last year, because now it is Village Medical, I am not sure if Dr. Johnson even works there any longer, when you call to make an appointment or for anything you are directed to some call center in some other country but not the actual local office, and the last two doctors I have seen here (both female, which normally I prefer) in this case, acted dismissive and judgemental about my issues. I don't understand why doctors feel the need to deny or refuse to acknowledge my concerns as a patient, especially when I am asking for something specific. They seem so skeptical of any request, act holier-than-thou and like they know more about your own body than you do. They might know more about medicine in general, but they don't know what I myself in my own body am experiencing, so when I go in and they basically tell me "no, you don't need this", or "well, this issue that you feel is serious I don't think is serious so try some over the counter meds instead,", that's not helping your patient that's just being a jerk and acting like you think the person's issue which they are telling you is important and serious to them and just making it seem like they are exaggerating and it really isn't important at all. My health may not be important to you Chelsea and Dr. Watson but it is important to me, I don't go to a doctor because I want to be degraded into feeling like I'm a dumb person for being concerned about my health or for knowing what works for me, I want a doctor who is going to stand up for me and offer to help me. I will be looking into getting a different provider, and I will definitely avoid Village Medical offices in the future. The only reason I came to this office at all was because I liked Dr. Johnson but now I am not even sure if he still works there he is never available on the days I try to schedule and it's not always easy when you work during the week to get days off to go see a doctor. I needed a primary Dr.and I was given his name I made an appointment .I was told I needed to do a wellness exam and I declined he told me if I didn’t do it it would make him look bad and besides it would help his revenue I finally agreed because I needed my prescription renewed I couldn’t wait to get out of his office and I’m not going back

We absolutely love Dr Johnson and all his staff. I’ve taken my family to them since my kiddos were babies! Even my parents and in laws see them. We have since moved to another state and wish We could take all of them with us! A wonderful doc and wonderful practice!!

Since dr johnson moved the practice to villiage medical. Front office Service is terrible. No referrals calls and mess not called in.

I was diagnosed with covid and I have a very bad cough and sore lungs. I am only able to schedule virtual appointments, which I totally understand. However, I booked for an 11:40am and was told I didn't have an appointment when I called asking why no one called me. Then I booked for a 1pm with their apologies, only to wait in the "waiting room" for an hour and a half and nothing. I am so done with this place. Awful, absolutely awful, customer service. Attempting to get medical records from this office has been a headache. Dealing with their front office any time to schedule an appointment, referral info, or any other administrative task required from a doctors office they fall way short of what would be expected from a medical office. The PAs under Dr. Johnson have also had rude bed side manner at previous visits. Please look elsewhere for a doctors office I discourage you from going here. My parents both tried to be seen since they were struggling breathing (both has asthma) and had really bad respiratory illness. My dad was told they would only do a virtual visit since he had covid symptoms. My mom had to tell tge office 4 times she needed them to listen to her lungs, something wasn't right (happens with asthma). She was given the run around and finally insisted they see her. My dad was seen virtually, hasn't gotten much better from the sinus infection they said he had. He tried calling back to be seen since his chest was still tight (often again a side affect of having asthma). The office said they would not see him if he didn't have a COVID vaccine. So if you want a doctor to see you if you are actually sick, this is not the doctor's office for you. My parents are both established patients here and are getting a run around and attitude from the office staff. Oh, and when my mom finally got in, she had pneumonia and the doctor wsaid it was a good thing she came in. But you know, the office staff knows best and in the name of "COVID" we do see patients anymore. We use it as an excuse to be lazy bums. Fantastic, friendly doctor. Get staff. Always responsive to my needs. I have been with Dr Johnson since about 2004.

A real jerk. Friend moved here from California and had Kaiser Permanente send records to these morons. KP verified sent and RECEIVED BY THIS INCOMPETENT STAFF YET THEY DON'T HAVE THEM. Staff is rude and ought to be working at some bean burrito joint.

This office is billing insurance companies $70 for a bogus alcohol and depression screening. I had an appointment to read my cholesterol results. I get the bill to see a charge for alcohol and depression screening. I have never consumed alcohol or been depressed. You go in the room to wait for the dr. While taking your blood pressure they ask if you are feeling depressed or consumed alcohol in the last 48 hrs. Strange questions but they don't disclose why they are asking but find out when you get the bill. Extremely unresponsive and negligent office. My Father was admitted to the hospital on a Wednesday afternoon. I called the office to let Dr. Johnson know of my Father's condition. No one returned my call. When I addressed this with the staff, she said the doctor was off last week. I guess I should've told my ALS father to put his symptoms on hold while the doctor is off for a few days. Completely negligent. They should have someone on call to return urgent calls. This place is so amazing! I’ve been going to this doctor since my 3rd grade year and now my son goes Here ! They have amazing doctors and they are so caring ! I would recommend them to eveyone for a Pediatrician !

My 11 y.o. son is 1 year in remission from Leukemia. Last week he developed a suspicious tumor on his scalp. We were instructed by his Oncologist to set up a primary care doctor to get it biopsied. I scheduled an appointment for today at 10am. I filled out paperwork and presented my insurance cards. After waiting in the office for 20 minutes, I was told by the receptionist that my son can’t be seen because his SECONDARY insurance is Medicaid. Anyone who has been touched by cancer understands that cancer treatment is expensive so any help we may receive, (like secondary insurance) is extremely helpful. His primary insurance is BC/BS but because his secondary insurance is Medicaid, we were turned away. The receptionist promptly told us we had to see “a Medicaid doctor” and that my distaste was “silly”. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life!! It is very apparent to me that Dr. Johnson has become greedy and has forgotten his oath to do no harm! Needless to say we found another doctor and office that doesn’t discriminate! The staff is very friendly and it’s easy to get an appointment, no long waits. Dr Johnson is an excellent Doctor and actually takes his time and listens to his patients. I never feel rushed or not taken care of when I leave the office.

I have been going to Estrella Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, with Dr. Johnson since 2005. I chose Dr. Johnson after seeing his care of patients in the hospital where I worked at the time. He,and his PA's are thoughtful, caring and have a sympathetic and empathetic manner about them. They all listen to your problems and are willing to work with you to come up with the best care plan for you. I highly recommend this physician practice.

We really like the doctors but the office staff and office manager are horrible. We are considering leaving because of the staff. Dr Johnson is great though.

I have seen Dr. Johnson once in the times I visited. I even had physical done by a PA. I asked about seeing the Doctor and was told the PAs do those unless you specifically ask for and book with the Doctor. I expect to see the PA for a same day appointment but not an ongoing basis. Not good experience. I work as a nurse and I know how processes should be handled. They have a left a taste of incompetence in mouth. Yuck!

HORRIBLE PRACTICE! Do not go there. You will never see a "dr. Johnson" all you will see are interns who know nothing at all. The people at the front desk are clueless and don't care about you one bit.

Dr. Johnson and his staff are always attentive and caring. Scheduled appointments are on time and if unscheduled they seem to work me in quickly.

Our Family has been patients since 2000 We really like the staff have never had any problem. Always work with us to get in sometimes same day.

Dr Johnson is very knowledgeable. My husband and I trust his medical advise and knowledge. He saved me from having foot surgery with another DR and referred me to a great Ortho Dr that save me from having a screw put in my foot. Wore a cast for 4 months and the 3 breaks in my foot healed on their own. The intern staff is great as well and can always confer with DR Johnson. We have been going to this office for 16 years and could not ask for a better office staff!!

I have been a patient for 2 years. I have been in the office about 6 times. Never met Dr. Johnson once and every time a different intern. Never again!!! The staff is not helpful.

I've been taking my daughter here for years, and won't go anywhere else! Not only is the staff friendly and helpful, they took such good care of us when my daughter had a weekend at the hospital. Dr. Johnson is well known around Phoenix Children's as "an amazing pediatrician" and I have to whole heartedly agree! My daughter is almost four now and takes about going to the doctor like it's a day at the park :D thanks guys!!! I've been taking my daughter here for years, and won't go anywhere else!
