Keyvan Koochek

I'm pretty upset right now. My sister's husband is in the hospital for alcohol abuse. Mind you he's not seen a doctor in 30 years and has never had this experience. My sister - his wife- is trying to navigate this very troubling situation with her 17 year old son. She was looking for direction, support and guidance with his doctor- Dr. Keyvan Koochek. She left a message for him to call her. More than 24 hours later he called. His advice- take your husband's hospital bracelet and tape it on the fridge to remind him not to drink. Really? That's the best you got? Also admitted to telling her husband he should've had a drink upon arrival at the hospital to help with detox. As a doctor - it's not only diagnosis and science but compassion and the desire to help people. Dr. Koochek needs to check himself and find some bedside manner, find some compassion and give family members (who've never been through this before) some direction. Due to COVID we can't be at the hospital as advocates but here's a clear example of why advocates are needed. The patients in hospitals aren't numbers, they are people with families. Dr. Koochek you HAVE FAILED!!!
