Dr. Marc Steven Dauer

Originally scheduled a consultation in early 2020 for an eyebrow transplant. I had wanted the procedure for close to ten years at this point and had always felt I would choose him as my doctor. Life had just been busy and I never found the time. We discussed the procedure but Dr. Dauer told me to contact him again in six months if I was still certain I wanted to go ahead with it. Six months later I was sure so I travelled back to his office for a second consultation and this time he agreed and gave me a quote. Time passed and I realized my temples were very lopsided so I decided to ask if we could transplant some hair there while performing the eyebrow transplant. I was told I would need to come into the office again for a third consultation. This was now my third time travelling from Toronto to LA for a consultation. It wouldn’t have been a big deal except when I got there Dr. Dauer immediately told me he would not perform the transplant to either my temples or even my eyebrows which he had already agreed to before. I'm reading everyone reviews and they are all amazing post about him, his Medical Assistant and entire Staff. I've been doing my research for the last 3 months. My eyebrows make me feel less confident about myself. I use to have thick eye-brows but I plucked them so much and now, I am paying for it. I searched for an eyebrow hair transplant for 2 years. I tattooed my eyebrow's many moons back and had hated them ever since. I came across Dr. Dauer a year before I decided to make an apt. I was hesitant because I reside Dallas, TX and he's in Beverly Hills. I am not going to make this long. The entire staff was amazing. Special thanks to Brenda, Dr. Dauer's asst. No regrets here. I was in Los Angeles 2 weeks ago today to see Dr Dauer. I live in Florida and traveled to see Dr Dauer to have him transform my eyebrows. I did a lot of research and even went to other consultations and still choose Dr Dauer for his expertise. I had permanent make-up and then permanent make-up removal...big mistake. It left me with scarring and a weird outline of where the permanent make-up use to be. I would cry myself to sleep because of how terrible it looked and spend 20-30 minutes trying to make the eyebrows look normal by covering it up with make-up. Not only is Dr Dauer amazing, and caring and so passionate about what he does but Brenda the eyebrow nurse who I spent a lot of time with is so detailed and meticulous with helping to place the new hairs in the eyebrows. Laura his assistant is so sweet and no matter how many times I emailed her she answered me right back. I still have the hair that was put in my eyebrows and the shape is perfect. I know the hair will start to fall out but if even 70% of the hair comes back from what they look like now, I will be ecstatic!!! I will have my confidence back! Can't wait to see them in 8 months. I had my FUE transplant surgery with Dr. Dauer 1 year ago and had an amazing experience all around. I had done an ARTAS robotic hair transplant a few years earlier with a different doctor and had a terrible experience. DO NOT do the ARTAS surgery! It was extremely painful to the point where I was on Vicodin for a week, they took way more hair from the donor hair than needed, and after all of that I didn't see any results. It was the complete opposite with Dr. Dauer; the pain was minimal, as it was more uncomfortable than painful. Just had my 1 year follow up and seeing the before and after results was amazing. Dr. Dauer and his entire staff were very friendly and communicative throughout the process - looking back I don't think there was anything I would change. Dr. Dauer and his professional staff are incredible. I had two procedures over period of 5 years and could not be happier. He know's his stuff. I had sever hair loss and some serious head scares from brian surgery. He was able to fill in those areas and it looks fantastic.

I had an eyebrow transplant done close to a year ago and I could not be more happy with my results! I had over plucked my eyebrows as a teen and the result left me with very little eyebrow hair. For over 10 years I had them microbladed and tattooed over and over again which left them scarred. I am extremely pleased with the results of my procedure with Dr. Dauer and highly recommend him. I interviewed 5 other physicians before selecting him. The others were also well qualified from an experience and credentials perspective, but the professional look and feel of his office and the friendly and professional manner of Dr. Dauer and his staff stood out. My initial consultation was just with him. Some of the other physicians used sale reps to conduct part of the consultation. There was no pressure or sales pitch, just straight forward information. His recommended number of grafts was less than most of the other physicians I had interviewed, yet the end result was complete coverage. It exceeded my expectations. The procedure itself was painless. You get to watch TV, read a book, or just look out at the view of Beverly Hills he has from his 18th floor office in Century City. His staff is great. The procedure was so relaxing that at some point I realized I had dozed off for a minute or two. I didn’t need any pain medication after the procedure. I had the procedure on a Friday and was back at work the next week. I chose the FUT method which requires stitches, and the stitches came out two weeks later. Dr. Dauer also performs FUE transplants that don’t require stitches. I was surfing a week after the stiches came out. I went to see Dr Dauer 7 years ago. He recommended the strip method. He was a very nice and decent guy. I had a great impression. But I decided to not get a hair transplant. Years later I got a free consult in April 2019. He gave me his honest opinion and told me I was a Norwood 6. My impression was he implied the procedure was not the best fit for me. I was Norwood 6 and losing hair fast. So he complimented my buzzed (1 guard all around) head. Said it looked good on me. I had thin eyebrows and had tattoos done. Unfortunately they did not look natural and faded over time. I had to get them retouched every 6 months. I read about Dr Dauers' eyebrow transplants on yelp. I called and made consultation with Dr Dauer. I was kind of skeptical at first, sounded too good to be true and did not think I would be able to have eyebrows that looked natural again. I decided to give a try and go through the procedure. After the procedure, I was able to see a huge difference immediately. Some of the hairs did fall out but like Dr. Dauer had mention majority of them grew back in within 4-5 months. When the hairs fell off, I did not think they would grow back, but they did. If Dr. Dauer wasn't an honest doctor, I'd be out of about $10,000 right now. I drove 3.5 hours for a consult with Dr. Dauer about a brow transplant. My eyebrows are very light and opinions online from other doctors told me I'd be a good candiate for the procedure. So I spent several months reviewing hair surgeons online who perform brow transplants, to track down THE BEST IN THIS FIELD! Which is what led me to Dr. Dauer. There's a couple of surgeons who are okayish at this procedure, but Dr. Dauer is like the Superman at it! No joke, look at his experience, results, and patient feedback! I first went to Dr. Dauer when I was 22, and he said I was a little too young for a hair transplant. I felt that this was really honest, and decided to come back to him a couple years later. We had another consultation, and a few weeks later I was in his operating chair. The procedure itself was surprisingly stress-free, largely thanks to Dr. Dauer and his staff. Several months later, I started to see little hairs growing out of the areas that he had operated on, and then these hairs started to thicken. I chose Dr. Dauer based upon the many positive reviews I found describing his work, and I am glad to say that I have not been disappointed. He made the benefits and limitations of the available procedures clear and easily-understood, offered useful guidance in designing the new hairline to be created and on the day of the FUE surgery Dr. Dauer and his staff made me feel comfortable and confident while the procedure was completed. Eight months post-op the improvement is tremendous - the treated areas are quite thickly covered in hair and the prognosis is for further filling-in and growth over the next few months. That's the -science- at work; the -art- is in Dr. Dauer's design of the hairline and placement of the individual grafts which now look entirely natural. Dr. Dauer is one of those too rare, trustworthy and honest doctors. He really goes far and beyond to help people. I have firsthand experience of him doing something that was advantageous of me, despite the fact that he could have just gone away with more money. He is also extremely professional. I used to have full eyebrows until my make-up artist plucked them out over and over again for different modeling shoots I posed for. In the end, I was left with very sparse and thin eyebrows, which I had to fill in daily because they looked so bad. I had an eyebrow regiment that I used to do every day to make them look better which was very time consuming and extremely frustrating. I had to make them look as full as possible without letting people know that I filled them in and the results were so-so at best. This went on for over 15 years. One day I decided to look into eyebrow transplantation. I researched several doctors who specialized in this treatment, even attending a few consultations prior to selecting Dr. Dauer to do the procedure. Once I met Dr. Dauer, during our first meeting, I immediately knew that I could put my trust in him. He made me feel so comfortable with his demeanor and extensive knowledge in regard to transplantation. I, like many women, over plucked my brows and they wouldn't grow back no matter what magic potion I put on them. I had tattoos done but they never looked natural and faded over time, so I was stuck with painting my brows on every day. I immediately made a consultation and found Dr Dauer to be incredibly kind, understanding and clearly a master at his craft. I went in for my eyebrow transplant Nov 2017. I'm usually really fussy with my shape, but I let Dr Dauer decide for me. Throughout the transplant process, we continued to consult on the shape and make adjustments. It wasn't painful except for the removal of the graft sight on the scalp, but even that was tolerable. His staff is lovely and Dr Dauer was with me every step of the way, designing the perfect brow. After the transplant, tending to the brows was a bit tedious, but not overwhelming. I followed his instructions precisely and now in April 2018 I have perfect, permanent brows! They do fall out two weeks after the transplant and take 4-5 months to grow back in. While they are of great value, the following story relating my experience with Dr. Dauer offers what I believe is an insightful reflection of his professionalism, dedication to his work and concern for patients. While I had earlier visited a well-known clinic as well as a renowned plastic surgeon to consider my surgical options, upon my initial contact with Dr. Dauer, it was readily apparent he was going to be my guy! During the consult, I found him personable and informative. There was no sales pitch or pressure exerted upon me. He freely spent as much time as I wished with him and encouraged me to ask questions (of which I had many). He made it clear that I alone had to determine whether a hair transplant was right for me and that his goal was to educate me, answer my questions and provide whatever information was available so that I could make an intelligent decision. I was given the opportunity to view examples of his prior work, many involving patients with hairlines similar to mine. He thoughtfully and thoroughly described the procedures and what I might expect from them. I couldn’t have asked for a better explanation of what was involved. He also created a comfort level that made me feel as if I was talking to a nonjudgmental expert in his field, someone whom I could confide and place my trust in what was, for me, a very difficult choice. I scheduled a procedure for a Monday morning. That Sunday night, for personal reasons, I came to the conclusion that this wasn’t the right time for me to undergo a transplant. I dreaded the thought of the conversation that would take place the next morning. I was bitterly conflicted- I couldn’t sleep! I've wanted to get a hair transplant for as long as I can remember. The only problem was getting up the courage to finally find someone I could trust to handle the procedure. Once I finally started truly looking I found that Los Angeles has as many hair restoration professionals as it has patients. Rarely do I consider a doctor a friend. Dr. Dauer was amazing from the first time I met him during my consultation to my recovery from my eyebrow transplant. I did not take this procedure lightly....I did a significant amount of research online, went to some consultations in San Diego, and even considering flying to East Coast to have a well-known doctor perform the procedure. The whole experience was great. The consultation was super informative. Every question was answered fully, and explained comprehensively. In fact, i was so impressed ,and comfortable with Dr Dauer. That i arranged to have the hair restoration procedure one week after our first meeting. Jeanine [ patient Advisor] was very helpful, and informative. Telling me everything that i should, and shouldn`t do prior to surgery. She was very thoughtful, and thorough. A real sweetheart. The procedure itself was a piece of cake. No pain whatsoever. Spent the whole time watching movies. And chatting with the three beautiful Latinas transplanting the harvested hair[ into a more beneficial area]. So home i went. Fully expecting to look terrible, and experience a lot of discomfort. Especially over the next 7 day`s. You see. This is not my first hair transplant. I have been through this twice before. The other two procedures were performed by a different doctor. And i suffered a lot of post surgery pain, and swelling each time. However this time was completely different. I live on the East Coast, and, after suffering a facial scar above my upper lip, I began to research hair transplant doctors who do facial hair transplants. Over and over again online, the name that kept popping up for his expertise and professionalism was Marc Dauer, MD. I contacted Dr. Dauer and sent him photos of my scar, which he looked at at no charge, and personally wrote back to me telling me what my options were. Given that it was a facial scar, and given his amazing credentials, I was literally willing to pay to fly across the country to have my hair transplant procedure done by Dr. Dauer. Allow me to explain, I had a brain tumor successfully removed at the age of six and the operation left me with large scars across the left side of my head and these scars were really big so you could see them no matter what i did. then at the age of ten I was in a very traumatic car accident in which left me to have even more severe cuts on my head. so i grew up with hideous scars on my head leaving bald lines all over my head. looking like this made me grow up going to high school with people always looking at me strange at times asking what happened to me or even calling me names at times it was terrible. I'm 1y and 2m post surgery date. The results are wonderful. The new hair integrated so well with the rest that no one could tell anything was done, except for saying that I look great. I've had the best year yet as a professional actor. The price was the best around as well for the expert level of work. The recovery time from the procedure was minimal. Down the road if I need to do another procedure for maintenance, I'll return to Dr. Dauer. He answered all of my questions pre-surgery, put my mind at ease and delivered fantastic results.
