Mary Elizabeth Ramsey

This lady saved my life in 2019 when the emergency room was going to send me home with a chronic illness of GBS. I owe her my life if she hadn't stepped in I would have died love this woman I'll recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Ramsey is an incredible neurologist that can take on the most complex cases. She has a bedside manner that sets her apart from other specialists. I highly recommend her.

Been with Dr. Ramsey for over a year approximately. She is wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and. she has done more for me in the short time I've been with her than at any time previously. I would recommend Dr. Ramsey and the firm to anyone. 5 out of 5 for sure. Joan Stromberg

Dr. Ramsey was thorough, explained the test she did perform and after the results, fully explained the concerns and next steps. Everyone in her office was professional, courteous and helped put you at ease. Would definitely see her again, if needed.

I want to thank Dr Ramsey for her care of my husband, and quite frankly, of me as well. Last year he was diagnosed with GBS and this disease has morphed into CIDP. Dr Ramsey has been there from the beginning and when his symptoms started to deteriorate this year, after making a remarkable recovery from the GBS, she was so prompt in answering a series of portal messages one weekend and got us in that Tuesday. She answers questions in a way we can understand and doesn’t make us feel that any question is not valid, she responds to questions on the portal very promptly, and the staff is always kind and professional. I am the type of person that researches a diagnosis and any question or treatment that I pose is always considered and treated with consideration and respect. Dr Ramsey was an Amazing Dr that sat and listened to our concerns. For the first time in 10 years we actually felt like someone listened and actually cared about what he is going through and was willing to figure out what is going on. Dr. Mary Beth Ramsey is the best doctor I've ever seen. She doesn't take your trust for granted and will make a sincere effort to find answers to your questions. If she doesn't know the answer at the moment she will do the research and actually fallow up with you. I have personally experienced doctors who just want to find a billable code for the insurance company then move on to the next chart/patient you won't experience that with her. Dr. Ramsey did a wonderful job of providing me with a complete neurological evaluation after I experienced some spinal nerve compression issues. She referred me to Mary Blend at Richmond Physical Therapy for physical therapy work which has been extremely helpful in alleviating some shoulder and neck pain I had been experiencing. Would recommend Dr. Ramsey to any one seeking an evaluation of their neurological issues. I first met Dr. Ramsey when I was hospitalized at Parham Doctors Hospital with a serious neurological illness. She studied my case, interviewed me at length, and determined the best course of treatment. She has continued to see me following my discharge, and has monitored my progress closely. She has assisted me in every way, including making adjustments to medications. She always takes time to listen to my concerns. Dr. Ramsey took my concerns seriously and spent an extensive amount of time interviewing me, reviewing my files, and assessing me. She treated me with respect and kindness despite that I am not an easy patient (though I do my best!) Additionally, and perhaps even more importantly, she also very clearly knows her stuff - there are things that she investigated that others missed, and she made a change to my pain meds that makes me feel like I've gotten my life back. Dr. Ramsey is one of the most competent, thorough and caring physicians I have ever encountered. She doesn't shy away from patients with obscure or challenging illnesses like other doctors I have encountered throughout my lengthy chronic illness. Choosing the right physician is paramount for neuropathic patients in particular and I fully trust her and her staff with my care. Dr. Ramsey is one of the most competent, patient, and caring doctors I've ever seen. After a misdiagnosis of 10 years and symptoms for nearly 14, Dr. Ramsey correctly diagnosed me with juvenile dermatomyositis. She listens well, is personable, and actively tries to understand, diagnose, and treat the patient. Under her care, I have grown in strength and hope. I cannot more highly recommend her.

I am pleased to have Dr. Ramsey of Neurological Associates on my medical team. I have some rare neurological disorders and Dr. Ramsey has helped me going forward. She doesn't seem rushed and listens carefully to my concerns. I feel like I am in good hands.

We are very thankful for Dr. Ramsey. My husband was in the hospital for unexplained tingling all over his body. A neurologist checked him while in the ER and she said that it was not a neurological issue and she moved on. Thankfully Dr. Ramsey was "on call" for the hospital that weekend and she diagnosed him with Guillane-Barre Syndrome. Our journey on a path to healing started the next day. We can't say enough about Dr. Ramsey, she is the reason my husband is up and walking today after being paralyzed from the neck down for 3 months.

My opinion doesn't really care about her patients.

Dr. Ramsey is an incredibly talented, sharp, kind, and hard-working neurologist. She specializes in diagnosis and management of neuromuscular conditions and she takes that seriously, pursuing even hard-to-discern cases like mine. As someone who has been in doctors offices regularly for the past decade, by and large Dr. Ramsey is my top doctor. She was able to make a diagnosis of a very rare disease after 10+ years of symptoms, countless doctors and ineffective treatments, and a previous misdiagnosis on top of that. I reckon my husband and I would move to a different city if we had to in order to continue care. I cannot more highly recommend this incredible physician.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ramsey since the beginning of 2019, she is both attentive and caring with her patients. She isn't quick to just put a Band-Aid on your medical situation and she thoroughly explains all options available. I live in Chesterfield county and welcomes the drive to Henrico because of how Dr. Ramsey make me feel whenever I visit her office. MRC December 19, 2019

Dr Ramsey spent a great deal of time explaining procedures and possible investigations into symptoms. She did not rush the EMG procedure just to have the revolving door that you find with some doctors. The biggest plus I would give her was that she listened. I feel good about my choice of Neurologists. JLE

Doc seems competent, but staff has problems with records and communication. Every time another doc of mine sends them records by fax, they say they can't find it, and the records have to be sent like 3-4 times. Or sometimes 1 person can find it, but no one else can, like there is a training problem over there. Also when they send faxes out to others doctors like a referral or office notes, only part of the info gets to the other party. Clearly a phone or technological problem there.

Dr. Mary Ramsey,MD is profound! I am suffering with a mild seizure disorder that I was diagnosed with in 1997. I had only been prescribed one medication in that entire time frame. Dr. Ramsey prescribed me an entirely NEW medicinal plan and she gave me great direction about what I should do to complete this task. She also made me aware of information about my previous medication that was completely unbeknownst to me,even after my own research of the medication. She is EXCELLENT!! You should See!
