My review will be long winded, so I will refer Dr. Michael Shaughnessy as ''Mike'' He is outstanding and brilliant. He has been a friend for over 25 years, and I never new his greatness until I needed surgery. Because of his bedside manner, and love for patient care, if I had a heart attack I would ask him to do the surgery. He speaks with such humbleness you would never know how educated he is, and how much he looks for industry improvements. If only the young and passionate doctors could learn from him, we would all be better off. If your looking for an eye surgeon consider yourself lucky, that your found Dr. Mike and he is available. He is very personable and I never feel rushed. He explains everything even if I ask twice. Highly recommend.

He did my fathers eyes both 4 weeks apart. the office was fast and the surgery days were good experience the nurses took extra care of him.

Dr. Shaughnessy is th best of the best. He is thorough, kind, engaged, and focused. He did my cataract surgery expertly and compassionately. They don’t come any better than this gentleman.

He may be a good doctor, but you wait for ever when you get there.. Once the doctor got in there, it was a five minute encounter. One visit I was forgotten altogether until the person waiting for me inquired as to the length of time I was in there. They also forgot to call in a prescription until I called them to remind them the next day.

Dr. Shaughnessey did my first cataract implant about 12 years ago and just recently did the second eye in under 10 minutes. Absolutely no problems, fully answered all of my questions and made implant recommendations that turned out to be spot on. He also cleared time to evaluate a retina problem within an hour of contacting his office a few years ago. I've sent several friends to him with similar results and I have to believe he is one of the best, if not the best, in the NE Ohio area.
