Please excuse the screen name, my son did it and I don’t know how to change it. My experience with Dr. Kaplan has been terrible. I don’t understand why someone would get into healthcare if they are not willing to treat patients like human beings. My doctor retired and she was the replacement. Wanted me to immediately switch to a different medication that I’ve had problems with in the past. She said that I would be closely monitored and to call if I had any problems and they would be addressed immediately. That was a lie. I started calling on Monday and called twice a day every day after until my scheduled appointment on Thursday with her pharmacist. The messages were relaid to her and she was in the office just chose not to call back. When my call was returned 45 minutes before my appointment by he med assistant I was spoken to like a child and told they were canceling my appointment. I was coming from out of town and was already on the freeway. I went anyway but didn’t see or speak to her. The pharmacist told me sorry about your luck, now we’re not even going to give you the medication we wanted you to take. Without medication I could get deadly sick. Was told if that happens to go to ER and sent away. My sister is a physician and I’m not ignorant. Any doctor that’s willing to lie and allow a patient to possibly suffer severe side effects should find a different profession because your in it for the wrong reasons, and your attitude because you don’t like someone’s personality or whatever your problem is, could cost a life to be lost and children to loose a mother. The last time I went for a visit was my last to set foot in that office. I waited for half an hour to get scolded by Dr Kaplin because I complained to the nurse about the long wait. She was so mean and rude I ran out in tears. Very unprofessional in actions and appearance. Staff is unorganized. Don’t know why I put up with her for 10 years. This office has a lot of problems and until they get it figured out I would not refer anyone to go there. The doctors office and nurse practitioner I see now shows me just how bad Thurston Clinic is. Dr Kaplin doesn’t even have her name on the webpage anymore. Ha!

I have been a patient of Dr Kaplan for many years and now that she is leaving Thurston Medical, I will follow her there.

The absolute WORST medical experience I have ever had. She was extremely rude and off putting as was her entire staff. She wrote me a prescription and then proceeded to never fill out a pre authorization form for my insurance so I ended up having to pay for it full price. I called the office multiple times asking to have it dont until one day I tried to call over and over again and the phone calls never went through. She ordered multiple tests to figure out a problem I was having, that other drs said couldn't be what she said it was. Well, it was. Saved my life. Office staff borderline on incompetent, but no complaints about her, or her nurses. LGBTQIA+ friendly.

I recently moved and transferred to Dr. Kaplan. She is a no nonsense Doctor. I am thankful that she is. She pointed out that a medicine i was taking was dangerous. After research i found that to be true. She is not a pill pusher. I would recommend her without reservation. She knows her stuff.

She is very sharp. Seems to know her medicine.

Saw this doctor twice. Neither time did she lay her hands on me, which I found disconcerting in a physician, particularly on the first visits. Other reviewers have described Dr. Kaplan as "rude", and I would have to agree. She seemed more concerned about the conversation she was having with her assistant, made little effort to get to know me as an individual, rather than a set of test results, made snarky remarks about age and shared personal information inappropriately. Would definitely not recommend this doctor!

Dr. Kaplan is a very sharp Physician. She has taken very good care of me since i became a patient of hers a year ago. I wish i could give more stars. Thanks Dr. Kaplan.

It was the worst experience with a so called doctor I have ever had. It took me 2.5yrs to find a doctor that takes both my primary & secondary insurance, that was a female. I have been suffering with chronic pain from a work injury, that deemed me disabled for life. I am experiencing painful nerv damage, that's rapidly taking all the feeling in my left leg & arm. I had stated I needed imagining done, for a pinched nerve I was hospitalized for, & wanted to get a game plan how we can lower the 7 pain level I'm in everyday? I tell her I had weaned myself off of pain meds after being on them for 8yrs, 3yrs ago. I was tired of the Dr. masking my injuries with pain pills & not helping me so I quit. She said good you didn't need them, says it sucks gettin old huh? If she had read my chart I had emergency back surgery, because I couldn't stand or walk. Said get ya some aspercreme & you have high BP thats your problem... since when & no imaging without physical therapy 1st huh? Then walked out.

She seems to not care about people and not a very friendly person. I do not recommend going to her.

She was condescending & wouldn't listen to me. I feel I have symptoms of metal allergies and she says it's depression. Funny, depression is one of the symptoms of metal allergies... She won't even test me. Told me if I wanted that kind of a dr. to go see an ND because she only does real science. HA! ND's have to have way more schooling than MDs. They have to take all the classes MDs do AND more. I was right about my infections in my ears and sinuses, and I was right about having mastitis, but she thinks I am wrong about the allergies. I think I will send her a result of the tests when I get them done. My ears get infected from wearing earrings. Gee another symptom that she refuses to look at. I went to an ND and guess what? I had soooo much heavy metal poisoning! The ND did Chelation therapy and I am better now! Oh and guess what? NO MORE DEPRESSION!! I wish I could sue for malpractice. The Worst bedside manner zero stars is too good I saw her for my diabetes she literally yelled in my face because I had not been in for awhile and in front of my wife mind you we almost walked out but I was laughing inside because she struggles with the same things as I do except since the last time I saw her she got really fat and let herself go and I control my diabetes with diet which she said I couldn't do well in your face I dropped 35 pounds and control it just fine! Quack

She was very rude and even I explained to her what my problem was she just laughed and said there was nothing wrong with me. She didn't say hello or goodbye or anything and just walked out when she was finished. I didn't even know she was finished which was awkward. I would never go back to her if she was the last doctor on earth.

My experience with Dr. Kaplan was very uncomfortable. I expressed concerns about some issues I had noticed and she responded with a condescending attitude and actually argued with me about the symptoms I was experiencing. I would not recommend her services to anyone.

I waited for hours to see her when I was in pain and she barely even looked at me after paying my copay and told me to go to the hospital even though I asked her to look over my chart because one of her coworkers is my regular doctor and there's notes in my chart on the pain that I have along with test saying what it is and she would not even bother to look at it just told me that my symptoms were and then left the room without saying bye or anything.

Don’t go here. Unfortunately I have to stick with her for awhile until I can find another. It’s very difficult to get a primary doctor. Most practices have closed the door to new patients, especially if you are in medic She’s a cold fish, with a totally vacant affect. She stares straight ahead with no expression. She didn’t say, hello or good bye. Hen she was dine with me she walked out. I had to ask the nurse if she was done with me. I asked if this was her usual demeanor. She said yes

Worst doctor my family has ever seen! Completely ignored my wife during and after 8 days of horrible flue and didn’t even look at her!! Would think a doctor would look at her at least after driving an hour to get there after calling daily for anything that could help ease anything, which she did not!! Apparently the worst rated doctor online in Eugene Springfield area too now that iv looked. Would give negative 5 stars if it was an option. The office is very kind and empathetic tho!

Dr. Kaplan can be very flippant. She absolutely refuses to write certain prescriptions which would make my quality of life much better. My husband saw her two years ago and said if she was the last doctor in the world he wouldn't go back to her. I should've taken his advice. She reminds me of the joke, what do you call the person who graduated last from medical school? Doctor. I certainly will not go back to her...ever!

Big waste of time. I wanted to see her to establish a primary doctor and explore some ideas for my carpal tunnel. She wouldn't discuss getting a nerve conduction study or injections. She told me I am too young. (33) I received a second opinion from her partner month later and was given a referral for a study to which I was told I have severe CTS and qualify for immediate surgery to bring me relief. Super frustrating that she didn't take me serious.

Dr. Kaplan was extremely condescending and uninterested in my problem. She acted like I was ridiculous for wanting testing to rule out anything serious. I left with unanswered questions and feeling frustrated. Huge waste of time. I will not be returning to her office.

I have been seeing Dr. Kaplan for a couple of years. My first experience was vey positive. I felt she took her time to listen to my health issues and provide a medical solution. In the last 7 months I have been see for depression, chronic pain, and a mysterious rash. I told her the antidepressant was not working for me and wanted her to try a different type, her solution go see a therapist. I've had to return 2 times for the rash which now is infected, No solution for the rash still.

My son went to see her because of some back issues and a cough, she asked him a few questions and didn't bother checking his back at all and she told him to learn how to lift correctly and use heat didn't give him anything for his pain we ended up seeing a chiropractor and it turns out his hips were out of alignment causing the back pain. He also had a bad cough and she checked his ears nose and throat and told him to take flonase and it would get better it got worse he ended up having pneumonia

I have been seeing Dr. Kaplan about 2 years and I have noticed a difference in the office when I checked in and with the way she interacted with me (usually very terse). I asked her nurse what the deal was and she said that their former manager was no longer there and the new manager was making changes, I asked her if that was good or bad and she said it was challenging so I hope its a good thing.

Sorry excuse for a Dr. She and her nurse talked more about themselves or their vast knowledge on a particular subject than listened to the patient and my symptoms. They didn't give me a chance to go over my symptoms. No hands on checking me out--that's why I went in--if you find out I'm ok by talking only, I could've stayed home and called MDLive. Dr. came off as a know-it-all..crappy bedside manner, left feeling frustrated, will NOT see her again. Waste of time and money. Did nothing.
