Dr. Stevens took care of my club feet and bad knees 42 years ago. I'm so grateful to him. As an adult I'm realizing there isn't many doctors that do/understand club feet. I wish i could have stayed with him as an adult... He was the top dr. for club feet when i was a child, I'm sure he still is.

If you are a higher maintenance parent wanting to know the in's and outs of each and every Dr. decision, Dr. Stevens might not be the right guy for your child. IMHO, he is a super low key, easy going, doesn't sweat the small stuff, kind of Doctor. He understands that kids are little gummy bears that can often recover without heavy handed intervention and given such, he doesn't perform surgery for the sake of performing surgery. If you can get past this, it becomes incredibly evident that this dude knows his stuff and your child is in the absolute best of care. After 9 years of visits, my favorite line and life lesson came at our son's very first appointment with Dr. Stevens, when he said, paraphrase, "Hi, I'm Dr. Stevens, let me dispel any of the erroneous information you have found on the internet." And by damn, he was absolutely spot on, such a great lesson. He told me to wait until the end of his exam to ask any questions. At the end, I tried to ask my questions. Instead, he told me that his exam was over so he wasn't going to go back over the same information (which is that he recommended surgery). I wanted to know why he recommended surgery based on a specific angle. He told me that surgery was the only answer. I went to another doctor who recommended physical therapy. After weeks of therapy, NO SURGERY needed! The issue is RESOLVED!

Dr. Stevens literally saved my son's leg, when anyone else would have given up. Born with pseudarthrosis of the tibia, my son is now 30 years old and thanks to 13 surgeries, bone morphogenic protein, his leg is healthy and strong. Dr. Stevens is the finest physician I have ever dealt with.
