Mr. Steven Thomas Kmucha

I will never refer anyone to this doctor. I am a healthcare professional myself and I came to him seeking for patient care. The moment he knew I had medical knowledge he immediately crossed his arms, leaned back in his chair, and asked me what I think was happening to me. Shouldn't he be the one to give me a diagnosis? Are doctors supposed to encourage patients to diagnose themselves? He acted like he was all superior and I was dumb. He is VERY condescending and VERY rude. I went to him to get PROFESSIONAL help which I did not get. He never asked me questions. He actually told me what I am doing wrong. WOW. How did he know? Is he a mind reader? After this awful interaction, I asked him if he can be more compassionate and caring. He said he did not practice medicine to give compassion. What a HORRIBLE thing to say to a patient and to another healthcare provider. He then rambled on his 30+ years of experience in medicine. He did not seem like someone with experience treating humans. Who cares where you went to school and where you practiced. It does not matter if you have extensive knowledge about your specialty. If you do not even know how to treat a patient with respect, no one will stay with you. I'll be surprised if he has a list of long-term patients. He seems to jump from one business to another...which I am not surprised anymore after one interaction with him. What a waste of money and time. If you are looking for a respectful and caring doctor, do not go to Dr. Steven Kmucha.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kmucha's for many years. He has always been respectful and extremely informative. He always explains everything in detail and helps me understand and share in the decisions about my care. He has improved my health and my quality of life. He is the best doctor if you want to understand your body and your health and if you want to share in your own care.

The moment he knew I had medical knowledge he immediately quizzed me and put me on the spot. I did not come here to get quizzed. I came here to get help and I did not get anything like that. I asked him for compassion and care. He said he did not practice medicine to give compassion. What a horrible thing to say to a patient and another healthcare provider. He started telling me he has been practicing 30 years in Stanford, Yale, whatever. His 30 years of practice obviously did not teach him anything about treating a patient as a human being. What a waste of money and time. If you are looking for a caring doctor, you will not get that from Dr. Kmucha.

He didn't even examine me. Rather, he sat in his chair and lectured me, asked me condescending questions (like "Have you ever tried anything preventative?" after I'd told him about experiencing symptoms for 25 years), and gave responses like "Everyone has SOME postnasal drip" when I told him I felt a river of fluid going down my throat. Did I mention he didn't even examine me to see if there was an unusual amount of mucus running draining from my sinuses? Total waste of time.

Absolutely worst Dr I have seen in my entire life. Rude, arrogant and a narcissistic man. I left after 5 min.
