I called the on-call doctor for an urgent medication issue. This doctor called back and was extremely annoyed to have been disturbed - like he expected being on-call would mean no interruptions to his evening. I was very much put off by his demeanor over the phone and certainly will now rethink ANY after-hours emergency in case this HOT HEAD is the one on call any given night. I would recommend any potential Piedmont Family Practice patient steer clear of this man. He seems to be intolerant and inconvenienced by patients of the practice calling after hours. His telephone manners leave me wary of his "bedside manner" towards patients. Maybe he should go into practice for himself and just tell all his patients to NEVER contact him in crisis - EVER. He should NOT be on rotation on-call. EVER.

Dr. Von Elten is a wonderful doctor. He takes his time with me to determine exactly what is wrong. I highly recommend him.

Dr von Elten has been our family physician for over 15 years. My husband and I come back to Warrenton for medical issues as he is professional, patient, kind and caring. Dr von Elten sits on numerous medical boards and is up to date on practices, procedures and medicines.
