Dr. Gauvain is an excellent doctor. He is highly intelligent and very personable at the same time. He is patient, kind, and spends time to listen. He clearly explained the procedures I needed and what to expect at each step of the way. I felt very confident and comfortable in his care. I wasn't aware there could be a fix for my problem so I credit him with my ability to walk normally and pain free for the first time in years.

Dr Gauvain listen to my questions and has the right answer to put me on the right pad to recovery from my broken ankle, after 3 weeks wearing a boot and mild pain, i have to start using a brace for 4 weeks, i definitely will recommend him

Best Orthopedic Surgeon! Dr. Gauvain is an AMAZING doctor. From the first day he attended to my mom with her broken ankle, he's been fantastic. I've had ankle issues on and off for 6 years and had been seeing my orthopedic doc, but after spraining my ankle 3 times over the summer, I needed a more permanent solution than rehabbing it. I was referred to Dr. Gauvain in August, where he referred me to a new sports rehabilitation therapist, and we strengthened both ankles in preparation for surgery on December 16th. 10 weeks later, Dr. Gauvain cleared me to begin working out. I'm working on agility in rehab now and for the first time in 7 years, playing on a tennis court feels within reach. I wouldn't have come this far without the care and knowledge of Dr. Gauvain and the hard work I put into PT both before and after surgery. Oh, and now I'll be able to dance at my wedding... with cute shoes. I’ve had feet problems for last 10 years and playing/coaching soccer was painful, finally went and saw Dr. Gauvain and he suggested surgery. Wasn’t to thrilled at first to have to be down for months not being able to work or play but the surgery was quick and painless and my recovery has been amazing. The scar is barely visible and my ability to walk without pain is amazing. Can’t thank him enough for helping me get back to coaching/playing soccer again with my kiddos. Dr. Gauvain is an amazing doctor. I came in with a club foot and always in pain and he took his time and figured out each step to help me walk again without pain. He did foot corrections and a total ankle replacement. Highly recommend.

I have waited to write a review on my foot surgery by Dr. T. Gauvain, because I discovered that there simply was not enough words of praise to describe his attention to detail, the precise procedures he uses, the wealth of his knowledge, his kindness in asking questions and "listening" to my answers, how tender heart of this doctor is-that wants to help make life better-words can not convey or describe this incredibly gifted doctor. The team of nurses that work with him in the office or at the hospital have the same high quality standards of patient care that Dr. Gauvain demonstrates. I would not hesitate to send my grown children, or my grand children or my great grand children to to this doctor for any type of orthopedic needs. I am grateful that his family raised a man of courage, honor and kindness with a servants heart. How can I sing the praises about the best orthopedic surgeon in the WORLD!! I don’t know where to start. He has the greatest customer service for a doctor that I have ever seen. He takes the time to explain the problem, he also listens to your concerns and is willing to explore new routes. He did two repairs on my left foot after a bad podiatrist butchered me. He is patient and takes time with all his patients. Remember, if you think he is not on time, he is taking his time with the patient before you just like you want him to take the time with you. Excellent person and medical doctor. Dr Gauvain clearly explained right from the start what to expect and outlined recovery process. After a year of ankle surgery with included 2 plates and multiple screws in my leg I could not be happier with the results. I strongly recommend Dr Gauvain and his team.

I didnt get a chance to see if this doctor was good or not due to rudeness from the reception Leslie when trying to schedule an appointment. Front desk/receptionist should always be great since they are the first person talked to or seen before the doctor.

Awesome doctor. Most doctors want to do surgery $$$, Dr Gauvin advised me to wait a bit regarding my knee injury. Didnt need surgery and will be doing PT here soon. I highly recommend this Ortho.

Dr. Gauvain did a great job explaining my injury on my ankle and he made sure to do more xrays to make sure my foot was fine. Extremely nice.

I had had surgery on my foot a couple of years ago by a doctor at UTMB. Dr. Panchbhavi did a terrible job, my foot got infected and my toe healed crooked. Then I started getting cramps in that foot. Needless to say I had to get it corrected. Then, I found Dr. Gauvain. What a blessing he was! He corrected all the mistakes that were made by the previous doctor and did a WONDERFUL job making my foot better. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Gauvain!!! I was diagnosed with a displaced fracture of my fibula. Dr Gauvain and his team were truly a blessing. Under the circumstances his overall knowledge and ability to communicate were definitely a plus. He made me feel comfortable for what was my first surgery. I would recommend him to any one who needs any type of orthopedic surgery.

I would recommend Dr. Gauvain to anyone and I won’t go anywhere else for foot issues. I had a complex break on one of the metatarsals in my right foot. It was obvious it would need surgery to heal properly. I still can’t believe how he was able to screw everything back together. The surgery went great and his staff was amazing. I was referred to Dr. Gauvain by my Primary Care Physician for arthritic issues in my right foot. I'm an avid hiker and wanted to be able to hike/power walk again without pain. Dr. Gauvain said I had an arthritic joint in my second toe which was also a mallet toe and a very large arthritic cyst in the top of my foot. He gave me all of the options for my 63-year-old right foot and I selected surgery to fuse the arthritic joint, remove the cyst, insert a thin plate in the top of my foot, and clip the tendon behind my second toe to straighten it out of "mallet" position. The surgery was more involved than originally thought; a 40 minute estimate turned into a 2 hour surgery because I also had ligament damage. Dr. Gauvain was very clear with instructions of how to care for my foot, the follow up visits were very informative, and he made it very clear to me that I could cause damage if I didn't follow all instructions (I can be stubborn sometimes). He and his entire staff were very nice and a pleasure to visit! I spent 6 weeks in a boot on a knee scooter, 6 weeks in a boot walking, and 2 weeks walking without the boot - I've taken it slow and walked 2-2.5 mph on my treadmill for 20 minutes several times a day because I needed to rebuild the strength in my ankle. Today is day 97 after the surgery and I've received a clean bill of health; I can do anything I want to now and the pain is very minimal! Can't wait to go hiking again! My daughter is a volleyball player and she ruptured her achilles. Dr Gauvain and his staff were second to none throughout this entire process! The staff always answered my calls, made sure I had the appointment time and date that best fit my schedule and kept me posted on my upcoming appointments. Dr Gauvain took his time at each of our appointments, walked us through the recovery process, and stayed in touch with the PT to ensure things were done properly. I fell and broke my ankle to the point where it needed a plate and 2 screws. Dr. Gauvain performed the surgery and it was smooth sailing from that day on. He followed my progress well....and after two weeks, I was in a boot (but no weight on it), four more weeks and I was walking in the boot, and four more weeks I was back in my tennis shoes. AND I had zero pain or discomfort after the first week. Even the incision scars (incision on both sides of ankle) are hardly visible. I strongly recommend him for your orthopedic needs!! Dr. Guavain is an amazing doctor who completed my bunionectomy. After only 3 months instead of the estimated 6 I was already wearing regular shoes and walking comfortably. He completed the surgery leaving me minimally bruised and scarred even after having a plate and screw placed. With both pre-op and post-op care he would listen intently and ensure all my questions were answered and understood. It is a nice thing to have a doctor ensure you fully understand and not try to rush the visit. If your looking for a great orthopedic the search is over as I will only recommend him. Great Surgeon with a fabulous bedside manner. I had ankle surgery 3 weeks ago and I am healing well. Surgery and Follow up went well. Dr. Gauvain took the time to answer all of my questions. His staff from the front desk to radiologist to his nursing staff to the exit desk was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Gauvain if you are in need of ankle surgery!!

Broke my collar bone in 5 pieces and Dr Gauvain put me back together. Surgery went great, was off pain meds quick and had a great recovery. I highly recommend him. My physical therapist even told me what a great surgeon he was due to my quick recovery.

Dr. Gauvain is thorough and is exceptional at explaining all possible treatment options. He's well read and stays updated on the latest literature, bringing new technologies to the table as potential treatments. He treats his patients as family. He has a supportive staff at the clinic and at the hospital. You cannot find a better physician, the communies of Pearland and SE houston are lucky to have him.

Awesome doctor

Excellent surgeon. Took time to answer all my questions and concerns. Explained the procedure and timeline for my recuperation. Very personable and friendly.

Dr. Gauvain performed an amazing surgery for my long term PTTD. I had been unable to walk without a great deal of pain from my malformed foot and ankle. He was very attentive to my questions and concerns and resolved a long time painful problem. I now have better quality of life and look forward to enjoy more family outings.

Dr Gauvain is INCREDIBLE. I came to him with a jones fracture that wasn’t healing. I had already seen one doctor and it wasn’t getting fixed. I came to Dr G and he fit me into his surgery schedule within 5 days and I FINALLY healed. Pre/post surgery treatment was great and he ALWAYS spends time to discuss treatment and/or concerns. And he’s honest. He def cares about his patients. Some docs just rush in and out, not him! And as an added bonus, my scar is almost unnoticeable! Highly recommend!!!
