My knee replacement was unacceptable my leg is now 3 inches longer than my other leg. When I expressed my concerns about going up and down stairs he told me to do wall squats. He dismissed my pleas for concern.

I had difficulties walking for many years .. for the past 10 months could only walk with the help of a walker with extreme pain as well .. My surgery was Feb 16,2023 .. I saw Dr. Kurtz about knee arthritis and knee replacement. I liked that he has a lot of experience with knee replacements and can talk to the art of the surgery as well as the science. He sat and listened and was good at sharing data in a friendly and digestible format.

Dr. Kurtz and his team are very professional and efficient in providing service. No long wait times. I had a 1:50 appointment was was called back a little before. Dr. Kurtz was patient and answered all my questions.

What can I say? Dr. Kurtz is wonderful! He’s just the best! I had no problem with my knee surgery, and believe me, I know when surgery goes bad. (ask Dr. Yu) He has been very kind to me. Very patient. He was recommended to me, and I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr Kurtz and TOA have been wonderful in not only their medical care but personal care of my 87 year old mother when she fell and broke her hip

I had hip surgery about three years ago and was completely successful and back running. No rehabilitation. Just follow all guidelines given and you’ll be great and pain free

I have had both hips and one knee replacement. Dr. Kurtz is awesome. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. His staff, surgical team and TOA have been great. I am currently exercising 4 times a week. Dr. Kurtz made that possible!!

Dr. Kurtz did surgeries on my knee. It unfortunately got infected in March 2022. He has done everything he could to get it better. I think I'm on the downhill slope. He has been there every step of the way. Great doctor.

I have severe arthritis in both knees and Dr. Kurtz went through my options on day one. He explained them thoroughly and discussed the likelihood they would help my condition. In the end, he said what every provider should say, that the decision is mine, and mine alone, to make once I know the facts. This was my second hip replacement surgery with Dr Kurtz and it went as well as the first. His office is very professional all was handled smoothly. I would recommend him to anyone needing a new hip!

Great visit from start to finish. Friendly and caring staff. Short wait time. Dr. Kurtz is extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the condition that’s caused extreme pain I’ve had for several months. I’ve been to other doctors and was becoming frustrated that no one could help me. He explained my condition and how to correct it thoroughly. I’m looking forward to surgery and no more pain! My consult with Dr. Kurtz was to the point, comprehensive and very informative. His staff as well were kind and professional.

Both Dr. Kurtz and his PA Katie provided me with the information that I needed to pursue resolution of my knee issues. I have known for a long time that eventually I will need total knee replacement and hesitated to pursue. Dr. Kurtz was very professional in his approach and detailed what I would need to do to have this done in the future.

Dr. Kurtz has been my ortho doctor since 2012. He has a quiet, gentlemanly manner that is comforting and thorough. I remember my first hip surgery didn’t heal properly, we were both perplexed; he was more so as my physician. I had to have a hip revision in 2014. Each time he patiently explained why my body didn’t do what it needed to do. He also stressed that I would need more rehabilitation time. I am now facing more joint problems and HE is my definite choice. I will always refer him because he’s just that good. Dr. Kurtz was knowledgeable, thorough and attentive. He answered my questions snd provided the information I needed. I am pleased to be able to have him as my physician.

Dr. Kurtz was great on my first visit. He explained everything carefully and answered all my questions. I am looking forward to the follow up visit and am hopeful he will be able to help. There were many doctors who would not consider me as a new patient because I had previously had surgery before moving to Nashville.

Dr.Kurtz gave me injections in my arthritic knees and I feel like a new person!

It Was Great He Is A Wonderful Doctor He Makes It Plain On What's Going On

Dr. Kurtz and his staff provided me with excellent medical care prior to, during, and after my hip surgery. I felt that they truly cared about my well being and did everything possible to make me feel comfortable with this procedure, while ensuring a safe and successful surgery and recovery. My experience while at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital (Nashville) was wonderful for myself (and my husband) and Dr. Kurtz and his staff checked with me every day after surgery for almost a month. When I had concerns or questions they responded promptly and Dr. Kurtz even did so on Easter weekend! In addition, at my one month checkup, Dr. Kurtz was very thorough and patient with me, answering the numerous questions I had. TOA and Dr. Kurtz met every high expectation that I could have had and I feel blessed to have had such a wonderful and professional surgeon, staff, and hospital for my surgery.

The visit was short. Dr. Kurtz read my X-rays, came into the examination room and fully explained what he did and did not see. I felt very respected during our interaction.

Dr. Kurtz, is one of the finest doctors I know at Toa. His bedside manners are impeccable. He listens to you and is quick That’s her any questions or concerns that you have.

Dr Kurtz is a wonderful doctor. He takes out the time to explain what is going on and what is needed. He does not push you into anything, he let’s you know when you are ready he’s there to take care of you.

Hip replacement went surprisingly well. I was treated with care, respect and professionalism. A month out from surgery and I am feeling almost back to my old self…. Only without the pain. I highly recommend Dr. Kurtz!

I didn’t have to wait long to see Dr. Kurtz. He gave me a copy of my X-ray and told me it looked great. He asked me questions about my pain level, flexibility and strength. I am so impressed with Dr. Kurtz and have recommended him to several friends.

Dr Kurtz is professional and understanding of my pain management. He also replaced my husband's knee and was very compassionate.

About 4 years ago Dr Kurtz performed a hip replacement for me. He had found my problem after several others thought it was my knee. I agreed to have the hip done with the procedure which he performs from the front. I am not going to lie first time I got up that night I thought I was going to die. But after taking a few steps I realized I could move better. The recovery time was short. They worked with me on physical therapy taught me how to get in and out of a car. I kept working on that and after 2 days counting day of surgery I came home and walked and walked. I continue to see Dr Kurtz for other problems not associated with hip and he is always professional and down to earth at the same time. I would recommend him highly for hips and knees. He also takes care of my 94 yr old mothers knees and the care is the same. About 4 years ago Dr Kurtz performed a hip replacement for me. Dr. K was wonderful. Enjoyed our first appt together. Very thorough, patient, kind. Here’s some general observations/suggestions about the office ( One C1ty location): - I work nearby and wanted to walk there. I called morning of my appt and asked to speak with someone in that specific clinic so I could truly confirm which side of the building to come in on B and they wouldn’t transfer me and let me speak with someone there. The woman (in another clinic) kept telling me to “just go in the main door.” Very frustrating. It was freezing and I wound up walking 3/4 around the bldg seeking the “main entrance.” - very pleasant check in process and they have the new patient forms you fill out ahead of time down to a science. They do need to dust the light fixtures over check in and take off the Christmas bows. - wait time in waiting room: 10 minutes. Wait time in exam room: ~20 minutes. -In the bathroom, paper towels are too far from sink. Creates wet, drippy floor.

Every interaction I have had with Dr. Kurtz and TOA has been over-whelmingly positive. I could spend a bunch of time enumerating the courtesy, promptness, professionalism and proficiency of all involved, but that would leave no space for the man himself! He's the prize. Dr. Kurtz's background, experience and ability are clearly outstanding. His online videos and interactive follow-up are priceless. And he's even a nice, regular guy with an easy manner. Efficient quality of care Dr. Kurtz is definitely a leader in the most current state of art quality medical care available to patients. Very knowledgeable and answers all questions throughly. He also provides educational material and easy electronic contact to his self and all medical staff . TOA is a smoothly ran corporation. Top Notch !!

I had total knee replacement. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks to Dr Kurtz and the entire staff for the excellent care I received.

I came in to see Dr Kurtz on a cane in a lot of pain. He gave me a shot in my hip and by the time I left I didn’t need pain. He also advised that hip replacement wasn’t needed. That was great news.

Second hip replacement. Perfect as was the first. Highly recommend Dr. William Kurtz.
