I can't speak on how good the doctor is cuz I haven't even seen him yet I'm a new patient and this office is very unprofessional especially the office manager very rude and disrespectful telling me that I scheduled an appointment on Advent health website wrong when there's only one way to schedule it you select new patient recurring patient or yearly physical I scheduled new appointment and it let me scheduled for January 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the morning I got a call telling me that that schedule was not a new patient slot that the doctor needed more time and I tried to explain to the manager that this is not my problem I've been trying to get an appointment for over a year with this doctor she proceeded to say that I was rude and canceled all my future appointments I will be making a complaint against this office with Advent health I will get the last laugh trust me on that messing with the wrong one!!! Been a patient several years and had been quite happy with Dr Douglas. This year I had to move my appointment for my annual physical and was told it would be at least 10 months before they could fit me in. No attempt to work me in earlier. Do not recommend…your a number not a patient. So very sad the medical drs have become this way. If your medical problem becomes advanced or difficult he will let you go with no warning.

Thought this Doctor was great, had been going to him for years. Even referred a ton on people to him. And when I voiced displeasure on having to wait over a year to book an appointment and that I might need to look for another doctor they send me a letter saying they are terminating our relationship. I heard that doctors were doing this as they can get more money from patients willing to pay cash and not go through insurance so they are ditching old patients. I just didn't think this guy was like that. Well you live and learn. No phone call from the doctor just a letter. Sad and disappointing. I will not be referring anyone else that is for sure. I have never before posted ANY review about any product, service, or provider. That said, I had been a patient of Dr. Douglas for over ten years. Since I was in good health, my interactions with him had primarily been for annual physicals. This month, I e-mailed him, recapping some minor questions from the last couple of years, and asking for a referral to a cardiologist. Here was his response (quote): << 9:35 AM – Response from Douglas Not sure I appreciate the tone of your email but in any case, you can choose a cardiologist of your choice and a new primary care doctor. I will care for you for 30 days for emergencies. We will transfer your records upon receipt of a signed consent. Anthony Douglas, MD I was dumbfounded at his uncalled for, unprofessional response. Not exactly a supportive, helpful, caring stance. In retrospect, I should have changed primary physician years ago, as he's always displayed a condescending, “I'm the smartest guy in the room” attitude. So it goes.

Maybe those who are wanting to go to this practice will NOW have an opening. Initially had pleasant experiences as my PCP until my bout with aggressive stage 3 lymphoma. Now my current pharmaceutical needs (which drastically changed after my cancer diagnosis) will not be supplied as Dr Douglas believes I need a psychiatrist. Even tho an extremely well qualified hospitalist at Advent altamonte who thoughtfully supplied this very delicate, well balanced blend of pain killers and anti anxiety medicines (post chemotherapy). So I've been booted out and now there is an opening but be warned, if your medical condition is rare (like mine) with a severe case of ankylosing spondylitis and recovering from very aggressive hospital monitored chemotherapy you will NOT be taken care of, shunned to a psychiatrist! I'm extremely saddened And disappointed with the morals of Dr Douglas. ???? Maybe those who are wanting to go to this practice will NOW have an opening. This is the best practice!! The customer service is fabulous. This practice runs the appointments on time. My family goes to Dr. Douglas and loves the caring service they provide. I can confirm what another person said. They just told me the same thing that he is booked until next year for new patients. I wanted to be seen for pain and she told me she could book me next year. How can that help me?

They list themselves as accepting new patients. This is inaccurate and should be modified. When I called, I was told that as a new patient I wouldn't be able to be seen until January 2022 (it is currently April 2021). I unacceptably wasted time on the phone with them, and wasn't told about the January wait until *after* I already gave them all of my information. I could have been calling other clinics during that time. Not only is their information inaccurate, but this was highly disrespectful of my time while I was already in pain and stressed. I will never fail to mention this experience when friends, family, and other neighborhood/school families are asking for recommendations. They list themselves as accepting new patients. Dr. Douglas is the best doctor I’ve ever met. He is patient, he listens, and he really talks to you. He’ll take his time with you and get down to the root of what you really need help with. He’s a very kind and considerate doctor. Thorough and intelligent. You can’t go wrong with him!

I have been a patient of Dr Douglas for over 10 years. He has always been patient, kind, and willing to listen. I was going through a health scare recently and he took the time to talk to me and calm my fears. I’ve told him he is stuck with me until one of us moves or retires!

A great Doctor and staff.

Dr. Douglas is a great doctor. He's funny and very personable. His office staff is friendly. I love that he does your blood work in office.

I've been going to Dr. Douglas since 2007. He is experienced and extremely professional and attentive. Appointments have always been on time and the staff in the office is also wonderful. I would highly recommend!

I used to see Dr Douglas but when I came down with pneumonia, he prescribed levofloxacin. I started having a severe reaction to it and he refused to change the prescription. I called back after reading the black box warning that said to discontinue it - and he refused to take my call. The nurse on call reprimanded me for reading the “small print” and also refused to change the prescription. I was home alone with a fever of 104.5 & they never called again to check on me after this. Worst dr ever.

Best Doctor I have ever had in my 61 years! Love the staff too... He truly cares about you and your health. Thorough and if he can't fix the issue, he knows exactly who to refer you to..

In January I experienced sharp pains in my chest and difficulty breathing. I immediately scheduled an appointment. During this appt he ran no tests, and diagnosed me with acid reflux. He also told me NOT to go to the hospital. He wrote a script for an antacid and sent me on my way. I did not have acid reflux, and my pain worsened. I tried to schedule another appt and was told he did not want to see me. I'm glad I didn't listen to him, I've since been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease

Dr. Douglas is an exceptionally competent physician. His communication is clear and direct and he has an excellent "bedside manner." In the years I've seen him, he has NEVER been late for my appointment. His staff is also superb.

I just didn't like their office, it is located in a sort of outdated strip mall, and the office itself does not look very professional. I thought I came to the wrong address first.

Doctor Douglas is an excellent choice.

Dr. Douglas is a very intelligent and caring doctor. He's a great communicator as well.

Dr. Anthony is the most empathetic Doctor I've ever met! I'm so glad I found Maitland Internal Medicine--I've been a patient for five years now and could not imagine seeing another doctor. The staff is intelligent and they really go out of their way to make you feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. Highly recommended!

Dr. Douglas is the gold standard. I've lived many places and had many primary care physicians and he has been hands down the best. Communication A+, Respect and Care A+, and ability to prescribe Reasonable and Effective Treatment A+. I never got the sense that he was rushing through my appointment, which has been my experience with nearly every other general practice physician. He took time to listen to my questions and concerns, even though they were minor. I look for a doctor who doesn't immediately turn to strong medications to solve problems, and Dr. Douglas fits that bill. He gave me non-medication options to try with my issue, but left the medication option on the table. Lastly, all the staff I had contact with at the Maitland office seemed to be content and generally low-stress, which says a lot about the work environment Dr. Douglas has created there. As always a stellar physician -- top notch in care and interest in you as a person and not just a patient. His nurse practitioner and admin team are also well organized and caring. You are lucky if you can call Dr. Douglas your physician.

I feel that Dr. Douglas cares more about is his paycheck and less about his patients. He has no empathy or understanding when it comes to real life situations. I was his first patient ever, 15 years ago and he will drop you even if you are 5 minutes late and won't care to hear your explanation EVEN IF IT'S MEDICALLY RELATED. Dr. Douglas is the most caring doctor I have ever had. His office runs on time so I never have to wait for my appointment time. He gets to know you as a person and remembers details about you. I feel I can even get in when I have an urgent matter.

Dr. Douglas was recommend to me by a friend and then my cardiologists, both I have the utmost respect for so Dr. Douglas came highly recommended to me. Upon meeting him and his staff I knew I had found a new medical home. He is kind and caring, listens and gives advice as it is needed, I trust him totally. I had an experience were a Dr. held necessary medication and I ended up in hospital. So going to a new Dr. after my last experience it was a little scary and Dr. Douglas put me at ease!

I'm almost excited to go back to this doctor. He was a really nice down to earth guy and the whole office was friendly and didn't feel rushed or crowded.

I am so glad I found Dr. Douglas. He is an awesome doctor. If my insurance ever changed to not include him, I would pay out of pocket because I trust his judgement.
