Dr. Charles Dewitt Hummer III

IME Insurance Doctor. Insurance hired this doctor to write a report against me to deny my claim. Dr. didn't examine me. Fast forward, the insurance company still had to pay my claim.

I went to Dr Hummer a few years ago because I was experiencing pain in my hip. He immediately diagnosed my problem and explained different treatments to combat the pain. After exhausting all treatments I decided that it was time to get a new hip. Prior to surgery, up to surgery and after surgery Dr. Hummer answered every question that I had (Even the ones I asked three times), he was very patient. He and his staff guided me through the process with ease. The biggest thing I like about Dr. Hummer is that he explains all your options and you make the decisions. You are never pushed in any directions. I highly recommend Dr. Hummer and the staff at Premier.

Great care and friendly professional staff

He is competent and concerned. An exceptional physician in my experience.

Prescribes Advil instead of diagnosis or coming up with a solution, often times. (Such as for friend with broken ankle— was not diagnosed until she got another opinion). Injected cortisone that not only didn’t help me but atrophied all soft tissue around the joint— something none of the other doctors I consulted afterwards had seen (apparently due to doing too many injections in too short of time). The staff is amazing and kind, which helps given his lack of bedside manor and overall demeanor

When I broke my ankle at work , Dr. Hummer was assigned to me by the luck of the draw. I could not be more satisfied with all of my experiences with Dr. Hummer and Premier Ortho. He did an outstanding job "fixing" my broken ankle. Premier has also been extremely easy to work with. Although no one ever wants to go through this, I'd have to give Dr. Hummer and Premier "10's" all around.

Excellent care! Completely solved my knee pain. Excellent bedside manner. Also technically superb.

I appreciated Dr. Hummer's thoughtful and professional demeanor. He heard the events that led up to my injury, and proposed two realistic approaches to treatment. I especially liked the pre-exam conducted by the Sports Therapist. The range of motion exercises she put me through gave me some confidence about the extent of the injury.

Excellent Dr ! He saved my 81 yr old fathers life after a severe spiral femur break. Very good at what he does. Would highly recommend him to everyone! His staff in his office are the nicest people to deal with, especially Monique.

Instead of rushing to recommend surgery, Dr. Hummer consulted with me to try other options first. He was very thorough in his analysis and walked me through the potential outcomes. Dr. Hummer was friendly, punctual, and explained everything in layman terms so that I had a full understanding of what was wrong with my knee, and the options that were available. They were able to schedule my office visit quickly and same for surgery. The office staff was also friendly and courteous.

Dr. Hummer is knowledgeable and thoughtful. He explains in detail what the issue is and how he wants to fix it I wish he would have walked me through my x-rays and gave me more time for further questions.

Dr. Hummer III has been my orthopaedic surgeon since 1996. Every aspect of his care is done with thought and professionalism. He is also very clear and as detailed as needed in all of his explanations. I recommend him to anyone who needs an orthopaedic surgeon.

He has cared for both of my daughters with sports-related injuries. His calm and caring manor put them at ease. He discussed the pros and cons of all testing and his recommendations. He understood that they wanted to return to play ASAP and expedited testing. His office staff are also very easy to work with. I highly recommend him!!

I meet Dr Hummer for knee pain. Dr Hummer injected of Synvisc 5 times with varying degree of success. Last injection he was suggesting i have knee replacement surgery, due of my increasing pain. I felt like he was pushing it. I went to a Dr Scott for a second opinion. After xrays of my knees a 15 minutes consultation Dr Scott recommended cortisone knee injections. Dr Scott explained often Cortisone is the first line of treatment. Now 3 weeks later I feel so much better.
