Not enough staff. Front Receptionist is also the medical assistant helping the Doctor. Poor f/u after labs for results and treatment plans. I had to request a copy and found no Vit D, thyroid panel or kidney panel not done. Now seeing a different doctor.

I cannot say enough good things about the care my mother has received from this doctor! she has been a patient for over 20 years and I have referred countless friends and family to him over the years and they have all been very pleased with his care. This doctor is caring, knowledgeable, patient, and wise. You may have to wait to see him but he is going to take his time with you you won't feel rushed. He also has a network of specialists that are also top-notched in their field so rest assured if you need a referral he's going to give you to a doctor that's top in their field of expertise! Very unorganized office staff. Very unprofessional and very unsanitary. Poor hygiene

Terrible practice! Was told that the Dr is to busy for his patients from his MA Daysha. Don't waste your time if you want good care. They don't follow there treatment plans. Dr stated he was going to refer after my hospitalization... 2 months later finally does so. Thank goodness I didn't wait for them cause things could have gotten really bad. Can't get your medications ever, because he's never in. Bloodwork...yes they cancel cause of every reason in the book. Staff are not professional at all. Terrible practice! 75yr M (Admitted for pneumonia) Discharged my grandpa on nebulizer medications ordered to use every four hours. WITH NO PRESCRIPTION FOR A NEBULIZER. Machine. By the time t contacted me for help as they had no idea how to get a nebulizer at 8:30pm on a Saturday night...) geez - figuring out everything when they get discharged is hard enough without incompetence of physicians. called nurses station for help with this problem- 6 hours later they finally get ahold of this doctor who just says he will deal with it in the morning fits 6 am now on Sunday and grandpa has already missed 3 doses. Yet when they discharged him they emphasized how important it was they he do the nebulizer treatments. Poor practice and poor hygiene

Terrible office for did many reasons. Don't waste your time!

The only doctor I know who still goes to see his patients in the hospital. He’s been my parents doctor, my husbands and my sons.

I was a patient of his in the other office in Mesa, AZ. I tried to find out where he had moved to but was never given that information instead it was always another story. I am so happy that I now have found where he is and am now again one of his patience. If you want a doctor that is like the other reviewer said then change now.

Dr Ononye is one of the best physicians I have ever met. He is thoughtful, considerate, and extremely knowledgable in the care and treatment of my whole family. I would never see anyone else.

If I could leave negative stars I would. My grandmother has been seeing Dr. Ononye for a few years but as of a month ago she has been ill. When she went to see Ononye to get some answers, he was very distant and had horrible bed side manner. He also had the results from her tests but had not read them for a week. This soon led to my grandmother being admitted to the hospital because she was so sick and weak. Once she was diagnosed, we then called Ononye’s office to get the results and notes from the exam and tests. It has been 2 weeks and no results. Having a doctor that is responsive, listens to your concerns, and cares is important. Dr. Ononye does none of that. Please find a doctor that actually cares and puts you and your family first. Dr. Chuba Ononye is a brilliant doctor, he is very knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. What makes him the best doctor though, is that he is very caring, gentle, and attentive . The Bendel Clinic staff is amazing, excellent, efficient, and always available and eager to assist. The facility is very nice. Very rude Doctor shows no concerns for his patients and likes to yell at them just as they are waking up. Accused me of something instead of talking to me. Terrible person as well as a doctor!!!

In my personal experience he is the best doctor in the Phoenix Mesa area. He probably can't give pain medicine because you have to go to a pain doctor now. The new rules on pain medication have changed a lot and it's not the doctor's fault.Their hands are tied.

I see some negative reviews and absolutely cannot agree. I have known Dr. Ononye for several years now and know him to be thorough and caring, going the extra mile for his patients. He can run behind in his appointments simply because he is giving that extra care to someone before you. He has a gentle demeanor and I am suspicious of anyone saying he was rude. Dr O was my mom's doctor before she passed in 2008 and has been mine since about that time. I find him to be thorough and caring in his approach. Some have posted that he takes his time with all patients and I can see where some would find that "Ononyening" because you sometimes have to wait to see him a few minutes after your scheduled time. Dr Ononye is the most horrific Dr that I have ever encountered. I was in the most horrible pain with my back and the Banner hospital referred me to him for follow up. I arrived at my appointment and waited over 2 hours to be seen. I was crying in pain the whole time and even the other patients begged the receptionist for me to be seen. When he finally saw me only to tell me he refused to help and told me to leave. My back was in such a precarious situation I later had to have a spinal fusion to correct my back problem. Way to go Doc, truly you should not be practicing. It will only allow me to post with a star highlighted but obviously there should not be any stars. I had a negative experience. Dr. Ononye did not specify the correct diagnostic codes for my labs needlessly costing me a lot of money. The insurance company said it would be a simple matter for my provider to resubmit and they would be covered 100%. I provided documentation for Dr. Ononye to do this and he failed to correct his mistakes. He was also arrogant and dismissive in my office visits. I would NOT recommend him.

A mediocre Dr. who can't keep a schedule. Long waits in waiting room and in exam room.

A very kind doctor that waits for me to finish speaking. Wonderful "chairside" manner. I would continue to be in his care, if I was remaining in the state.

I am a medical advocate for an 85 y/o female. I took my patient to an appointment with Dr. Ononye (it was my first time meeting him) and I was impressed with the amount of time he spent listening to my patient, demonstrating concern regarding her recent, unexpected hospitalization, asking appropriate questions and suggesting a thorough plan of action and follow-up. I have already made two referrals to Dr. Ononye for other patients with whom I am involved.
