Dr. David K Hunter

Dr. Hunter has to be one of the most arrogant dentists I have ever met. First of all, he clearly had not reviewed my child's MRI findings on her jaw before coming in the room and suggesting we do surgery. As we ask him questions, he finally realizes he needs to look at her MRI. He then says we need a different surgery. We both walked out and knew we would never return. I wasn't going to leave a review, but then, more than a year since our one and only visit, I receive a rude email addressed to my daughter, that informed us that a payment was due and going into collections. This is the absolute first time I have heard of this. I check my mail and had not received anything in the mail either, that indicated a balance. We had such a great experience with Dr. Hunter at the Grapevine location. My young son was his patient, and Dr. Hunter, along with his entire staff, were so helpful and caring. I'd recommend him to anyone who might be nervous for a procedure, or who has a young child needing an oral operation or dental work. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Dr Hunter is very good as he performed surgery for another family member wisdom tooth. I scheduled another appt for my son. Dr hunter is out of network for my insurance. the office is just providing a lump sum estimate and no details on what should be paid out of pocket. My dental insurance said that they are charging extra items because I am out of network, but should give all the breakdown to the patient or guardian. I cancelled the appt as I am not willing to pay 3 times the amount without any details. Very dissapointed with the billing department. Dr. Hunter & his team performed a pretty major surgery for me (replacing my front four teeth that got knocked out playing basketball). My smile is even better than it was before, and here I am 5 years later with the bridge as beautiful as it was on day 1. I will use Dr Hunter for any dental procedure I can for the rest of my life.

2 kids with wisdom teeth extractions and I had a tooth pulled. Dr. Hunter has always been professional, courteous, and knowledgeable with great results! The staff in his office are always friendly and helpful.

Best Doctor ever!! The whole process scheduling to surgery. Everything was great!! I was very nervous the day of my procedure Dr Hunter and his staff definitely calmed my fears.

Very professional. Explained everything in detail. During my tooth extraction he made me aware of every action he was doing and what I might experience (pressure, sound, and any pain). Whole experience was exceptional.

Excellent care and communicated what needed to be done and how. Called back the afternoon after surgery.

Excellent experience. I was thrilled with the staff. I had very little pain after a wisdom tooth extraction. Happy 68 year old patient.

I met Dr Hunter a couple weeks ago. My case, I think, was a bit of challenge. He was aware of my time as well as his. He is exceptionally personable and, of course, knowledgeable. I knew I was in good hands and my experience was that this is a top-notch professional place to be. I am glad I'm in such capable hands.

Dr. Hunter removed my son's 4 wisdom teeth. It was an unbelievably quick and smooth process. Recovery went great and it's been 5 days since surgery and all is good. Definitely will be back with our next child. Thank you!

My teenage son had his wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Hunter did a great job! He and his staff are very attentive and made the whole process smooth and as painless as possible. They make sure that you have everything you need and know what you need to know. They make themselves available at all times.

Dr. Hunter is a fantastic doctor and his staff is amazing! I recently had my 3rd procedure done with him and every single time I am extremely impressed. My family members have gone to him as well for oral surgery. Dr. Hunter makes the process so easy, and explains everything. He is the best ever and his staff is so nice, comforting, and friendly. Dr. Hunter has been amazing over the years. He has removed the wisdom teeth of all of my children. Now, I have need of his services and expertise. I've experienced the same high level, and quality, of service now as I experienced with my children years ago.

I asked them to expedite my paperwork to the insurance so I could get the work done this year. They told me it would take 30 days for the insurance to come back. I told them I had met my deductible for the year so I really need to do it this year. I just called the office 12/21 to check on the status and no one has even submitted anything to my insurance and my appt was 12/7. The person on the phone said there is a note in my file saying that I said if I could not have the work done this year I don't want it done at all... Really I'm in severe pain with a locked jaw!! So because you know its impossible to have the work done this year you just don't submit anything at all? Not professional at all. Complete laziness on behalf of the staff! I have been waiting for a call hoping there was a chance for surgery before 2016. This is absolutely horrible customer service. I had my front tooth knocked out as a child in a roller skating accident. The tooth has been a problem my whole life with various different procedures. The time finally came for it to be extracted and to prep for an implant. I put this off forever until, I couldn't put it off any longer. Dr. Hunter talked to me throughout the entire procedure to make sure that I was comfortable and aware of what was taking place. He made the experience has pleasant as it could possibly be. I had a molar extracted, packed with bone (human backbone?), then sutured, then covered with skin glue. The procedure took about 30 minutes after anesthesia took effect. Experienced hardly any pain. BUT I DID NOT LOVE IT. Dr. Hunter gets five stars because time in waiting room was brief, he answered my pre-op questions thoroughly, put me at ease by explaining what he was doing as he progressed from beginning to end, worked like a skilled craftsman with no loss of time, and had assistants that did all one could expect. He did extract one of my wisdom teeth a few years ago and that was also a 5 star experience. The implant went well today; too early to provide final comment. Prepaid bill and receipt was ready when I checked in. Staff knows their jobs. Almost no pain. In and out quickly. Impressed with the 360 degree camera. Another five stars. Dr. Hunter and Implant Coordinator Jill Tidwell provided greatly detailed information during consultation and created the feeling of a safe and caring environment. They went over the expected treatment in detail and answered questions thoroughly. The entire surgical procedure was very well done. They reviewed the procedure step-by-step and made sure I had no questions or concerns. During the procedure they monitored my comfort and continually kept me informed about the progress and remaining time of the surgery. When finished, post-op treatment was explained and printed information was provided. They provide amazing professional, yet friendly and caring service. Dr Hunter and staff were exellent. I've had teeth extracted before and this was the best experience (if you can call a tooth extraction a good experience). There was no swelling afterwards no stiches, nausea and very little soreness and pain. This was a wisdom tooth extracted. The last time I had a wisdom tooth extracted, I literally went into shock when the novocaine wore off while at work. This experience was way different. Great job. Dr Hunter and staff were exellent. I had an implant done within 20 minutes after anesthesia. Job well done by Dr. Hunter and his staff. This is my first implant. I never thought it is as easy as this. It is no more discomfort and longer than tooth filling or cleaning. I am very satisfied.

Dr. Hunter removed all four of my daughter's impacted wisdom teeth on July 3, 2014. The procedure went well and my daughter's recovery has been wonderful! She experienced minimal pain after the surgery and only took pain pills for about a day. Dr. Hunter called the night of the surgery to check on her. What a nice touch! I think one factor that really helped was all the pre-op information and the post-op instructions. We would definitely recommend Dr. Hunter to anyone! Love, Love, Love Dr. Hunter and his staff. They performed jaw surgery (top and bottom) on my daughter and he did a fabulous job! The experience was great in the office and at the hospital. Today I had a appointment for an implant and his staff is always so welcoming! My wait is never longer than 5 minutes in the waiting area and never longer than a couple of minutes in the room. Fantastic experience. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled on the same day and didn't feel a thing. Not only that, but my pain and swelling have been close to nothing. Who decides to have two wisdom teeth remove at age 73?--me. I decided to end a chronic cheek-biting issue and discussed possibilities with my local dentist who then referred me to Dr. David Hunter. After viewing x-rays, Dr. Hunter reassured me that my procedure should be relatively uneventful--and indeed it was. My recovery on the day of surgery was actually comfortable and once the anesthesia wore completely off, Tylenol sufficed for my temporary pain--never needed pain meds. An ice pack kept swelling under control and the next day no one would have guessed that I'd just gone through major dental surgery. Dr. Hunter himself was kind enough to give me a follow-up call later that day which I much appreciated--he took time to personally care. I would recommend Dr. Hunter to anyone seeking oral surgery. Though I'd like to see him in a newer and deserving state-of-the-art office, his office is well run and staffed with kind caring people. I couldn't be left with a nicer memory!
