Ive been going to Dr Vera for years..I don’t normally rate Doctors but this gentleman deserves an Attaboy…he has always been cheerful and available to answer questions and concerns..he has a great sense of humor even though he is crazy busy in his Grapevine office…the staff, they earn kudos from me for their professionalism, courtesy,and caring..I have zero issues recommending Dr Vera for your medical needs

Couldn't ask for a more caring & compassionate doctor. Dr. Vera made me feel comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. Thank you!

I had lower spine epidural injections back in 2017 with Dr. Vera. I had a pleasant experience with Dr. Vera and staff. I was referred to Dr. Vera in 2021 again for lower spine epidural injections and the price per injection increased by 4,700. Increased by $4,700; this is because Dr. Vera's facility is now in partnership with Wise Health system. There are other spine surgeon/ pain management doctors who also bill facility fees with major hospital systems but for some reason Wise Health knows how to squeeze the most money out of the Insurance company. I will not be returning to Dr. Vera for any future medical treatments. I now see Dr. Bradley Cubitt in Irving. I had lower spine epidural injections back in 2017 with Dr. Vera. Was walking but had lower lumbar and left hip pain. Had a rhizotomy and have now been confined to a wheelchair because my right leg now has no motor skills and my left leg only functions by 40% of where it was prior to the rhizotomy. My Neurosurgeon says IF I get any use of my legs later, it will take about 2-years to regenerate the nerves. However, there's no guarantee and I may be disassembled the remainder of my life. I am 70 years old and have my doubts about healing. A determination will be made soon regarding my Neurosurgeon performing a surgical procedure to remove the clutter in my spine to give the damaged nerves more room to regenerate. The personnel at this pain clinic are excellent and I pray nobody else has to endure the problems that the loss of your legs cause. God bless you. After ny initial review above I went back for a visit with Dr. Vera because I had requested records for insurance to try to get physical therapy. They asked why I needed PT, thus an unwanted return exam by the doctor who did the Rhizotomy. He acted like I was his long, list friend. He advised me he and my Neurosurgeon were in total agreement that stenosis caused the lost use of my legs. The Neurosurgeon had already told me that heat being transferred from the myelin around the nerve was a little too much and transferred to ny nerves killing them. Three days later I had an appointment with my Neurosurgeon and I told him what Dr. Vera had said. Dr Kosmoski, my Neurosurgeon, pointedly told me that was not what he wrote in my medical notes and it was NOT STENOSIS causing my problem. Judge for yourself my friends. This has been the absolute worst experience I've ever had when it comes to billing issues. I was overcharged for an injection I had back in September. I had written a $2500 check to Dr. Vera for the procedure. When the claims were submitted, my insurance covered way more than I was told and I only owed a little over $600 to Dr. Vera. I immediately called his billing office and they submitted a "refund request" that takes 10-12 weeks to process. Which is absolutely ridiculous. I am now on week 14 and the billing department isn't giving me any information on when I can expect my refund. I had to get my insurance broker involved and she said this is the most incompetent billing department she has ever spoken to. The billing department keeps referring to a "Refund Team", but when I ask to talk to someone on that team, the billing department says they don't have their contact information. Which leads me to believe said team does not exist. My next step is an attorney because I have no other option at this point. This seems like an extremely shady operation and I have never had this issue with a doctor before. Dr. Vera is great, but his accounting staff is terrible. They owe me $400 yet a collection agency is flooding me with phone calls and late notices. You have options.

When our 17 year old began experiencing acute back pain we immediately saw Dr Vera. Conservative, thorough, and patient. It’s been three years as we try some treatments, recover from a procedure, diagnose and try again. Thankful for this Dr as we partner up for my young adult!

Outstanding Service from him and his staff. Everyone is very friendly, courteous, kind, professional & caring. You walk in with pain and you leave feeling better. Sometimes it takes more than one visit but it’s definitely worth it.

In 2018, Dr. Vera’s staff phoned to tell me that they had dropped me as a patient as a result of my having surgery for acute onset adenomyosis, which is a female medical gynecological disease and has absolutely nothing to do with the chronic back pain I was seeing him to treat. He and his staff refused to let me make an appointment to even meet with Dr. Vera to discuss my situation despite explaining multiple times that I was prescribed pain medication as a result of being in the hospital for 2 days post surgery. Extremely cruel and insensitive, not to mention down right unprofessional! I have been seeing Dr Vera for about 15 to 20 years now for severe lower back pain. I can always get an appointment with very little wait time. I would recommend this guy to anyone who wants to be able to walk around without being in pain.

I called in today and asked did they accept Ambetter - Asked me is a GOVT SUBSIDY ??? I was a patient there for years- I pay 1200 per mo for that Ins I hope its not - Took my business else where

Had an injection in my neck back in Dec 2017. My insurance was paying 100% because I had met my deductible. I am still getting statements from this office trying to bill me the $1260.00 . Someone from this office needs to figure out what they are doing. I would proceed with caution when seeking services here.

Chronic pain threatened to end my time in college. I thought I would have to drop out and give up my hopes of pursuing a degree in biology. However, with Dr. Vera and his incredible, compassionate staff, I am now getting my second degree in human nutrition while participating actively in church ministry, sports, undergraduate research, you name it! His anesthesiologists are also amazing, telling you exactly what's going to happen and when, and keeping close watch over my vitals (since sometimes my heart rate shoots up before procedures). Dr. Vera himself is gentle, polite, caring, and knowledgeable. I couldn't recommend him or this facility enough. You're a human there, not a number or a client. I love it! I was at the surgery center ready for a procedure when they were informed that my insurance company denied part of the procedure. Instead of telling me "too bad, reschedule", the head nurse called my insurance and argued with them until they agreed to the procedure. Since this took an hour, Dr. Vera actually worked around his schedule so I could still have the procedure that day. I've never had a doctor do that for me. Dr. Vera's bedside manner is amazing. I have seen him for pain management at the Southlake pain management center and the team, as well as Dr. Vera are so personable and outstanding. I couldn't be in better hands. And believe me, I have been in other pain management centers, this one is the absolute best!!!

Don’t know what I’d do without him. Even though I’ve ultimately had to have surgery, he helped me avoid it for probably 10 years. He is kind, competent, and professional. He always greets you with a reassuring smile. Every nurse I’ve spoken to raves about him. I have referred many to him and I normally stay away from referring to doctors!

Dr VERA is a kind and extremely skilled physician. I would not want to see anyone else for pain management and spine injections. I highly recommend Dr VERA without hesitation to anyone who needs pain management. He is the best around.

Told me nothing was wrong with me when I actually had a vascular necrosis of the femoral heads, basically both hip bones were almost disintegrated, told me I was a "drug seeker" and tried to send me to rehab. An ER doctor determined my hip problems shortly after being dismissed as a patient from Dr. Vera.

Chronic pain is not a picnic. Neither is going to the MD frequently. But Dr. Vera and Leah are incredibly kind as is the rest of the staff. I have a daughter with Down Syndrome who often has to come with me. They treat her like royalty and they always give her a chocolate treat - even if they have to dig in their own purses. Dr. Vera has navigated me through my ordeal and is professional and caring. Leah, PA, has such a soothing voice. Pain is not fun, but this staff is for you if you are looking for a caring practice where you will be listened to and treated with respect. I am grateful.. Chronic pain is not a picnic. I came to Dr Vera in a bad condition and feeling hopeless. I had failed spine surgery and as much pain after surgery as before. He first reassured me I wasn't alone, and then began a multi-team approach. He customized my meds, procedures and therapies for me. I really was defiant about opioids but he explained the controls, tests and need. I got off disability and returned to my full-time career as a firefighter. I love Dr. Vera. I went to him for several years and then we moved and I changed doctors due to distance. The doctor I changed to just handed out meds left and right and did as many procedures as insurance would approve. Over two years I had no improvement. I am fortunate that Dr. Vera was willing to take me back as a patient. We have moved again and I drive twice as far to see him. He has a number of pathways to improvement that do not always include narcotics. His office staff is also fantastic! I will never change again. I love Dr. Vera. If you're looking for an outstanding bedside manner/treatment Dr Vera and his staff are your answer! I have been in his care off and on for several years and would highly recommend him. Dr Vera and Leah are so kind and caring. They listen, give options, and guide you. I think the thing that comes through most is you're not just a procedure. When you're face down on a table getting ready for an injection it's nice to hear that familiar voice saying your name and asking how you're doing. Taking the time to walk over and gently touch you're hand. Chronic back and leg pain can take a toll. Just know if you choose to go see him you won't be disappointed. He was a great doctor for admitting I was too complex of a patient, and therefore told me he wouldn't accept me as a patient. He refunded my whole new patient fee, which was quite sizable as I didn't have insurance at the time. He set me up with my current physician. Great Dr. He takes the time to listen to you and actually truly cares about his patients. I drive approx 90 minutes to his office. I could go to another the local pain management Dr but Dr Vera is worth the drive. Besides when dealing with my spinal cord, I only want the best!!

Dr. Vera has been helping me with pain management for years. I have received many various types of injections and I have received relief for periods of time but it is definitely worth it. Today for the first time we encountered a complication and I needed a second procedure to fix the issue. Dr Vera talked to me to explain everything that was going on and he made me feel secure and safe. But after all we've been through I trust him completely. I was nearly crippled and unable to walk without pain and required a cane to get around. I searched for doctor and solution to my hip pain and after 6 different opinion I found Dr. Vera. Arthritis is terrible and not ready for hip replacement but the Injections in my hip have saved me. My treatment has made me care free again. Dr. Vera gave me my life back.
