Edward J Clifford

First doctor that has really listened about my pain and problems. He referred me to a local surgeon in the area and they're working to get things handled for me.

I can only write amazing things about Dr. Clifford. Professional, empathetic, quick resolving. Definitely recommend!

If you are having any mastectomy Surgery or Bilateral Mastectomy Surgery, please run away from Dr. Clifford. !!!!

We have had a terrible experience with Dr. Clifford. My wife had a mastectomy and he failed to follow through with prescribing main meds. She was released from hospital on a Sat. On Sun. her pain shot up to level 9. He had said he called in a prescription to our pharmacy but it wasn't there. I called Dr. Clifford's after hours number and left a message. I never got a call back. The next weekend, my wife's drainage tube fell out and I called again with the same result (no call back). On Mon. I called his office and whenever I pressed the option to speak to someone, his phone system would disconnect me. I drove 18 miles to his office to speak to someone in person. I was able to make an appointment for later in the afternoon. We arrive at the scheduled time and then waited for 2 hours before he saw us. I spoke with his office manager and she said she would look into the problems. The following week, we had another appointment because my wife's surgery site was still leaking. Two of his nurses looked at the wound and said if it was still leaking in a week, to call and tell them. The following week, she was still leaking. I called at 9AM and was disconnected several times before I was finally able to be routed to voicemail. I left a message to call me back. No one returned my call. At 2 PM I called back again and had to leave a message. Still no call back. Our home care nurse tried to get in touch with him and she was also disconnected when she used the option to speak with someone. We went to my wife's primary care doctor and she was concerned and said she would try and contact Dr. Clifford. Nothing back yet. Today, I will call the doctors at the Breast Cancer Center, Texas Oncology, and BWS Hospital (Grapevine) to report this ongoing three week long nightmare. I can only hope this review will serve to provide a wake-up call to make the necessary adjustment in Dr. Clifford's flawed aftercare procedures. **Update - 1 week later. The problems I reported seem to be mitigated. We saw Dr. Clifford and he said my issues were valid and they were implementing a new system. I am now able to communicate with his staff and he receives and replies to my messages. As a side note, it turns out that my wife's surgery site leakage is not that uncommon. The leakage has now subsided. Probably a good idea to inform masectomy patients and their care providers that the drainage tube could possibly fall out and if so, after surgery wound care would include putting on bandages that need to be changed accordingly to the amount of fluid leaking. Office staff are great. Never visited me after surgery, told me I wouldn’t need chemotherapy when it was the medical oncologist’s decision to make. Told me the amount of radiotherapy I would need which was less than what the radiation oncologist told me. Should stick to surgery and let the other specialists do their thing. Not impressed.

Absolutely the best doctor, hands down. His office took phenomenal care of me!

Dr. Clifford performed a breast lumpectomy of a cancerous tumor. He was extremely caring and explained everything, even to draw a picture of the surgery procedure so I would know exactly what it would in tail. He was informative about the type of cancer I had and wanted us to ask questions. His staff is professional and kept track of me before and after surgery. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Edward Clifford is the best!! I have been his patient for lumpectomies, etc. I highly recommend him with no hesitation!

Dr. Clifford and his staff are great . He took super good care of me during my surgery and aftercare . I highly recommend his office .

He doesn’t explain anything. Did not see him before or after what should have been a routine procedure on May 15, 2020, even when I was having complications afterward. The complications were NOT his fault; they were from anesthesia, but still didn’t see him. Was admitted to Baylor Grapevine, which administered 2 different meds it was well established I’m allergic to. Clifford never showed at all, but his partner, Edwards, showed up twice, unable to answer even basic questions because, as he pointed out, he didn’t do the procedure. I asked why Clifford wasn’t there, and Edwards told me it was the weekend. Bottom line: Either have him schedule his procedures conducive to his office hours or better, find a different surgeon.

Do not recommend for breast cancer. I have a very difficult time with him not explaining enough of what is going on. He seems not sure of cancer diagnosis. At the hospital stay overnight after surgery, he was not respond any nurse calls and missed diagnosis of any cancer surgery. Better to seek other surgeon.

Dr Clifford is an excellent breast surgeon. He made my journey through breast cancer treatment less frightening and almost painless. Right from my first appointment with him, I felt like I was in excellent hands. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

My mother had surgery with Dr. Clifford. She stated how comfortable she felt with Dr. Clifford. He took the time to address her concerns and questions. She stated she hasn't seen a doctor like him in quite sometime. Since she has been in the medical field for over 30 years. That says a lot! Made her feel like an actual patient as opposed to a chart number. Her surgery went flawlessly and her recovery time was amazing. Anyone would be so lucky to be in Dr. Cliffords hands. He is absolutely amazing... Johanna his assistant got employment paperwork sent in a timely manner. Was extremely helpful and didnt seem to have an issue when we called to check on it. I wrote a one-star review about this doctor a while back. Since then, Dr. Clifford has displayed a great deal of professionalism and care. Perhaps he wasn't his usual self when I saw him for my first visit. The front desk staff seemed rude, however. I don't blame him for that, though.

Dr. Clifford had what I felt was poor bedside manner. I felt like he thought my questions were absurd. His explanation of my condition contradicted the radiologist's report. When he lifted the gauze I had covering my infected biopsy site, he cringed and put the dirty gauze back in place. He didn't offer to re-dress the wound, or ask a medical assistant to do so. I feel like he was cocky and remiss, and overall I feel like I wasted time and money on my visit with this doctor. Would not recommend

I would recommend Dr. Clifford to anyone. He's got a calm personality, answers questions and is very easy going. Love him. His assistant doesn't seem to care about anybody, but he's wonderful. Front desk lady and check out lady are nice.

Dr clifford operated on me last week. I am very impressed. I dont evem feel any pain after surgeey. I personally feel he is the best surgon in North Texas.

In my opinion, Dr. Clifford is a very good surgeon with excellent people skills. His staff, however, is very unprofessional and difficult to deal with. Awful experience overall. Wish I had gone elsewhere.

He has a lot of experience, I had breast biopsy done uneventfully, I did not even need to take pain medication after surgery. Very professional since first office visit
