Was scolded publicly by the nurse navigator here for coming in to get fluids after chemo after I hadn’t been able to drink and eat for 4 days after chemo treatment. I had called in for new nausea meds during this period and no one would give me anything different that might work and help me be able to eat and drink. If you have cancer and have problems with treatment don’t expect much help here. She told me that I could not come in for fluids every time that I had chemo. I couldn’t hardly walk or stand because I was so weak and sick for the lack of food and water. I was dehydrated. I experienced this person breaking HIPPA laws as she discussed everything about my medications and treated me as a child in the chemo infusion room in front of probably at least 15-20 other patients I. The infusion room. My daughter is a medical assistant and was shocked at what she discussed the way she did. She was with me during the visit to get fluids and couldn’t believe how she treated me. She is very young and didn’t say anything to the nurse navigator. Lucky for the nurse navigator that day my husband hadn’t been the one driving me because he would have ripped her sideways for the way she treated me that day. She did pull a curtain but everyone could hear her and I would have never agreed to that kind of that discussion in that environment. I was very sick and she left me in tears. I couldn’t fight because I was so sick and weak and shocked. One of the other nurses apologized for her behavior. I decided to leave this place for treatments and I am glad I did. I did go back once more after that incident to speak to the doctor about what had happened but the doctor downplayed it. I also saw another patient there very angry about something during a wait there. The same nurse navigator sat in the waiting room with this patient and went over the details of his hospital stay in the public waiting room in front of I don’t know how many waiting patients. I don’t know all the details of the problem for that patient but obviously they were experiencing the same type of problems with this nurse navigator. I also shared this with Dr. Heather Shah. She downplayed it. I told her about all of this on my last visit and she downplayed it. This was a little over year ago. I am finally getting back to my normal self after treatments and can put down my thoughts publicly. I would NEVER recommend this place for any kind of treatments. The nurse navigator actually treated me as if I was being over dramatic, but in the end the drugs I was on for cancer put me into to heart failure and I was getting sicker and sicker every time I took them. So, I was not being dramatic. I was sick. I knew what my body was feeling and how it was responding.
