Dr. Kelly Smith is the BEST doctor that Huntsville has. He sits down with you and explains things to where we can understand. As long as you have questions he will answer them. He takes his time with you. You might have a little wait time but when your back in the chair talking to Dr. Smith the wait is well worth it it. Folks this is the real deal. Finally a doctor that actually listens to what you have to say. My last appointment I ask Dr. Smith if he could just be my doctor for all my health problems, of course I was kidding. Dr. Smith is the most caring and mild-mannered cardiologist. His entire staff, including his nurse April are wonderful! I’ve been a patient of his for a few years. Dr. Smith takes his time and actually listens to you! He has a kind heart, and goes above and beyond. Thank you Dr. Smith!

I had trouble with my diagnosis from a heart center. Was recommended to Dr. Smith. Went to see him, he listened to me. After a few test. He agreed with me! He has kept me going since 2011. So glad I found him. He is a great person & Doctor.

Dr. Smith inserted my stent with no mishaps, but he is rude and uncaring. I asked a single question during the whole procedure (what sedative he administered), and he ordered his nurse to come scold me for speaking to him. He succeeded as a stent installer but failed as a physician. I will make arrangements in advance to avoid him in case I ever have to go through this again.

Always answers questions...I never feel rushed. Saved my life twice!

I was in an unexpected and desperate need of a cardiologist and Dr Smith’s office worked me into his schedule. After examination and test he sent me to Crestwood to insert a a cardiac balloon. After stabilizing I was taken by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital for Open Heart Surgery. Throughout this ordeal Dr Smith’s presence was with me! A delay was encountered before open heart surgery and Dr Smith was on top of it! I cannot say enough good things about this gentleman. Dr. Smith is a wonderful doctor and I believe he is a great person as well. I had suffered with many illnesses from the time I was born. To each I was given a “diagnosis” and treatment, but I continued to feel ill to the point of being unable to continue working. I first saw a cardiologist in MD who diagnosed me with MVP & SVT. When my overall health was continuing to decline, I saw 3 different cardiologists in Huntsville before finding Dr. Smith. After just 2-3 visits, each of which consisted of an examination and talking about my medical history, family history etc., he was able to diagnose me with something that tied together everything that I had been dealing with my entire life. He did send me to Vanderbilt for further testing to confirm the diagnosis, and he was spot on. He has always been very easy to talk to, and takes as much time as needed with me on each visit. I would recommend him to anyone. He’s the only doctor that I can truly say I would completely trust with my life. He is professional yet still down to earth. He’s just a great doctor all around and I highly recommend taking the time to meet with him if you are looking for a cardiologist. Pacemaker inserted January 2020 did an excellent job everything going real well

He has taken time to listen to my reasons for visits, and has ordered several tests to do a thorough evaluation. When I learned there is a surgery to repair my venous reflux, he also explained that the results may not be a full recovery. He obviously cares about the patient and explains all sides of possibilities. I was referred to him by a friend that has been his patient for years. I have recommended him to another friend, who is very happy with him too. He has taken time to listen to my reasons for visits, and has ordered several tests to do a thorough evaluation. My experience here was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and specifically Phil who prepped me for my stress test was AMAZING. Very personable and made me feel very at ease. As a medical personnel I hold doctors offices to the standard I hold myself to and this office did not disappoint! Dr. Smith takes his time talking with you and makes you feel like everything will be okay and he is with you every step of the way. Very impressed!

Scheduling a appointment with Dr Smith was easy and I was seen within 20 minutes. He was attentive to details, ordered appropriate tests and analyzed the results. He provided immediate and thorough feedback. His bedside manner was cordial and responsive. I highly recommend him.

Always in a hurry. Does not take needed time to answer questions or explain options and procedures.

Avoid this doctor. Terrible uncaring bedside manner. Asked for referral to Birmingham heart surgeon. Dr. Smith's office delayed so long that we had to contact the other doctor.

Dr. Smith (or one of his associates on his off weekend) visited my wife every day when she was in the cardiac ICU. He kept me informed about her condition and did not talk down to me. She was 86 years old and other systems were failing. Dr. Smith was kind enough to suggest when it was time to let her pass. She had dementia and Dr. Smith had always kept me informed about her condition after her routine examinations.

Dr. Smith is the most compassionate caring physician I have ever went to. He listens and spends time with you. Your not just a number with him, your his patient. I am so grateful he took me on as his patient. Just know the time you spend in his office is worth the wait.

Horrible! Incredibly long wait, no regard for patients time After being asked to arrive early to fill out paperwork for a 4:00 apt waited until 5:15 in waiting room then 15 minutes later saw a nurse another 15 minutes another nurse Finally Dr. came in after 1:50 no reason for delay just seemed to expect us to take it because they are so important. After all that Dr. did little said come back in 6 months. Not bloody likely!!
