We received a bill for $20, so I called to verify this balance, and Vanessa answered the phone. When she brought up his account she was all of a sudden very short and passive aggressive with me when all I was trying to do was pay the balance, which ended up being $170 more than what we received in the mail. I’ve worked front desk in offices for years and I’d never take that tone unless the patient was being disrespectful to me or my coworkers, which I was not doing, I was just trying to identify the balance and where it was coming from/what insurance covered. My husband had been in a few times in 2020, and they’ve never collected anything from before before or after services. We have never received a bill until now, and it wasn’t even for the right amount. He left because he did not like the lack of good communication regarding billing, and received several phone calls to pay, which he did. We came to Mary Peters and LOVED HER. I have heard nothing but great things about her and really appreciated how kind she was to my daughter and I during our first appointment. I have experienced rude customer service however from her staff, Vanessa. Customer service matters and life is way too hard at times to also have to deal with rude people. I asked her to have Dr. Peters call me to see if she could re-do a surgery that didn't work on in-grown toenails and as we were going over my insurance she was rude, as I was asking to leave a message for Dr. Peters she was rude, and as I called back to follow up, she was rude. Since they no longer took our insurance, I would have paid cash up front but instead got treated very poorly. I do not put up with bad customer service. We came to Mary Peters and LOVED HER. My wife and I are both patients of Dr Peters. Over the years Dr Peters has been an excellent source of information, treatment and professionalism. She is always efficient, and thorough.
