I have been going to Dr. Musick for years with terrible results and spent a small fortune on prescription drugs. I quit using her and my new doctor is great. Don’t go to this doctor.

The office phone routing system is frustrating, to leave a message regarding a prescription, you will not get a call back, you will have to constantly call them to keep up with your prescription questions. Also, they do not have a nurse line have to press either reception or billing to get to someone. I hate leaving a bad review, just have to let it be known.

When I wanted to get a mole removed, I went to my regular doctors office. The office referred me to Dr. Musick. The office staff were extremely nice and so was Dr. Musick. Dr. Musick examined my mole and decided that the best route was through a plastic surgeon, considering the location (around the lip). The referral and surgery after was a pretty easy process and the scar healed nicely. This whole process happened 6-7 years ago and I still use Dr. Musick to this day for any other skin issues I have.

I went to Dr Musick for my dry skin. She didn't touch me at all. She came into the room, asked what's the problem. And told me to use Cetaphil. Like I haven't tried OTC medicine. If they had worked, I wouldn't have to come to her

No experience but from the reviews I will go else where my goodness she sounds horrible

The new doctor is rude & uncaring. She must not like nurses as I’ve had 2 others say the same. All looking for a GOOD dermatologist

All the doctors and nurses I encountered would prescribe me all kinds of medications but then never send the prescriptions to the pharmacy. Everything felt very hurried, and dealing with the Blackwell Medical Tower is no fun in general.

The office staff is a little stiff but they have been professional and seem knowledgeable. Dr. Musick and I have had our moments when we did not agree but she is always professional and she has been very good at taking time to address any medical/skin issues that I have. She has found a couple cancers on me and she saw that I was taken care of. I still trust her judgement and as long as she still sees me, I will continue to go to her. I have had doctors that I did not trust or were unprofessional. I notified the office who referend me to them and they found me another doctor. This particular doctor is absolutely useless both me and my wife have used her before and have never had a good experience with her she’s incompetent and in a hurry

I went because I had started experiencing hair loss around my edges and she stood back and never touched or looked at my scalp closely but recommended Sulfur 8 hair grease, was I given that diagnosis because I am African American? I was perplexed on how you can diagnose from over 3 feet away. I wouldn't recommend her to a pet owner.

Excellent experience...Got my appointment in somewhat of an emergency time in our health and Dr. Hesterman was so much more than I even hoped for..She was thorough, kind, patient, and carefully examined my child (patient). As my child said , "She was good, I understood her and she was fast.." haha She explained what our condition is and what we can expect and where to apply meds and where to not apply meds..she also asked her nurse to procure us some coupons and samples to aid us in our skincare regimen that she specifically spoke to the child and helped her understand her future part of her own care and I really appreciated that as a Mom....Her staff was also very kind and made sure I had parking deck token to get out w/out charge..???? Please don’t waste your time here st this office! I sat for over an hour and then was met with a rude Dr who couldn’t answer any of my questions.

The worst experience ever. Waited forever in the waiting room, when I got in the room with the Dr. she barely looked at me and acted like I was bothering her. Dr. Hesterman told me that my problem was due to age. I know that I didn’t need a doctor to tell me. She doesn’t explain clearly what she is doing or what’s wrong. Poor bedside manners.

I'm now 80 years old. Dr. Musick has been my dermatologist for quite a few years. I have a good many skin cancers (benign) of various kinds. I've found her to be very professional, diligent, and intelligent in her treatments of me, and I would refer her to anyone. Like any physician, there will occasionally be significant wait times before the doctor can see you, but in my experience over the years this has not been a problem with Dr Musick. The check-in staff was great, but I feel like Dr. Musick is very disrespectful of her patients, to wit: (1) I had to sit in the waiting area for an HOUR to be seen (45 mins past my appt time)! (2) This caused my appt to be VERY short, but I had to PAY the full amount. (3) SHE DOESN’T EVEN WASH HER HANDS OR PUT ON GLOVES before touching you!! SO unprofessional!! (4) She wrote an Rx, but didn’t discuss follow-up treatment. (5) Didn’t seem to like having to answer my questions. I’ll NEVER go back.

If skincare is a big concern for you, Dr. Musick is a must! She is very thorough! Which is what I was looking for with a family history of skin cancer. She checks out all of the places most other dermatologists I've used in the past have never even glanced at. Highly recommend Dr. Musick!

Billing group is a joke and very unprofessional when answering billing questions. Stay away.. Treat customers very rudely. We have since transitioned to a more professional group and could't be happier

First visit she examined my daughter without even touching her face. Stood across the room and diagnosed her. Best dermatologist I've ever seen! She goes the extra mile to make sure you get the needed treatment. She is also very up to date on dermatology. I would highly recommend her as a dermatologist.

Me and my daughter have been patients of Dr. Musick for over 10 years. Her and her staff are very friendly and professional. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a good knowledgeable dermatologist.

I miss her so much because I have moved back to Indiana. She is a highly professional, wise and one of the best Dermatologists I have ever had to date.

I have been to 4 doctors (1 GP and 3 dermatologists) over the last 4 months for a skin condition on my nose. I've had 4 different diagnoses: 1) impetigo 2) herpes simplex 3) left over demodex damage and 4) Dr. Musick's diagnosis (not sure what it is). Let me tell you, not ONE doctor ever touched my nose and 2 only looked from afar. The 1st one said "Just keep your face washed and make up free and let mother nature cure you." What??? I had to insist on some Metrogel since I'd been previously diagnosed with rosacea in Huntsville. The 2nd one didn't even ask me to remove the make up I put on my nose to hide the area (it's a social embarassment). How can she check me out if she can't see it? She just prescribed cortisone cream, which, it turns out, is bad for rosacea. The 3rd one turned on a bright light and actually looked for about 30 seconds. He said it was leftover demodex damage. And that I was to do nothing, just keep using the cortisone cream and to discontinue the oils, which I did for 6 weeks. It started getting worse again so I started used my oils again. Finally 2 days ago, I went to see Dr. Musick. To her credit, she did pull out a small hand-held light that may have had a magnifier on it. She looked for 15 - 20 seconds but never touched my skin. She gave me a sample size of ivermectin, so I guess she also thinks it is demodex but she never said that outright. I asked for a skin test such as a biopsy (I became scared it was some cancer since it would not go away) or a skin scraping. She said a biopsy is pretty invasive which I did not know. But she made no offer to do a skin scraping. I told her about the 3 other doctors and all their theories. I specifically asked her for a test. Why I didn't get one is a mystery. All I got this time around is a sample size of ivermectin and a request to return in 3 weeks. That's it. I've went to 4 doctors over 4 months (the other 3 were in New Hampshire). Frankly I'm startled that NOT ONE DERMATOLOGIST WILL DO A SCRAPING. I've had scabs all over my nose (previously) and have been self treating with Tea Tree Oil, Frankincense & Jojoba Oil plus the prescription creams of cortison and metrogel. I've used the prescriptions and the OTC essential oils for 4 months. All I got from Dr. Musick gave me a teeny, tiny sample of ivermectin. Why is it that no one will test my skin, even when I request it? This has been going on too long and a test is not an unreasonable request. I have BCBS insurance.... I pay cash and BCBS pays too. I want a test but I can't get one? WTH is up with that?? And what's going on with dermatologists who WON'T TOUCH YOU? They could and should wear gloves. What's going on here? I'm aghast. I'm going to call Dr Musick's office before my return appointment and tell them this: no skin scraping, no return and no more $$ for Dr Musick if she won't make an effort to find out what is going on with my frigging nose. Be a doctor for God's sake! UPDATE: When I went back in 2 weeks, she had her office manager throw me out of the office because I told her staff that unless she did a skin scraping, a culture, a biopsy or some sort of test to determine if I had a bacterial, fungal or parasites on my nose, I was not going to pay for the appointment . I guess that was too much to ask for a test! The office manager said Dr Musick said I should go to Birmingham. I was astonished and asked if this office could not do a test. I have been a patient since 2005. She always takes the time to explain procedures and potential outcomes. She has been spot-on in her advice and determining treatments and outcomes. Very professional in her approach. She networks with doctors who are very professional when procedures beyond her means must be done. Her follow-up has been excellent at each turn I have been very satisfied in this area.

Did not offer proper medical care in terms of clinical evaluation, testing, or follow up. Not diligent in getting to the bottom of things or knowledgeable. Just referred me to another doctor when I needed dermatological evaluation and testing.
