All I got was the run around with this dr an his staff they don't even call you back, did 2 mri an 2 CT scan an they still wanted to do more mri while I'm in pain everyday them they just pushed me off to another dr from his company an they did the same an pushed me off to another orthopedic dr clinic

Dr. Was on time friendly and informative. He also took time during my visit to help expedite further work up from my primary care dr. Easy to schedule with timely. Dr.Shea is a phenomenal doctor, he’s patient, has a great sense of humor, he’s compassionate and always listens carefully to my medical needs. He is a top rate doctor, I’d recommend him to anyone. Very easy to work with from a patient perspective. His staff are first rate & always polite & they go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable as a patient. Dr. Shea is very knowledgeable, and most importantly kind. He was very patient in explaining my diagnosis and options. He was great at following up and it is obvious that he really cares about his patients. He is always on time too! I recommend him to everyone.

He didn't show up for my appt this morning. No phone call or email. Then they rescheduled me for another month out. Very disappointed.

This doctor has never provided full disclosure of test results or follow up. I had to call to get information after a visit because nobody provided it up front. I was not given results from an MRI but tools to report to the ER immediately. Not given results of why I needed to report and not told of expectations once there. I've lost confidence in him completely because on three consecutive occasions he has not given me information I needed. I am requesting a new doctor and e complained to Mercy San Juan. I'm not stood out difficult, I just want to know what's happening and why and this doctor is lax on follow up, full disclosure and keeping his patients informed so they can make educated decisions. My daughter and I both see Dr. Shea and he is always attentive to what is going on with the issue we have. Answers our questions and we never feel rushed. My daughters play sports and he is very understanding to their need to get back on the court, but also makes sure that they are healed so as not to have re-injury. We have always felt we get the best care from Dr. Shea.

long time seeing him very polite and caring takes time with you and always ask how you are doing never have to wait long time he cares about his patients

Staff and doctor are very nice. 4 stars because they seem overbooked all 3 appts had to wait 2 hours for one visit and an hour the other two. Although staff seemed nice nobody apologized for wait or acknowledged the wait time.

Dr Shea went above and beyond to help me out on a busy day that had computers down. He was Patient and personable. Made sure I understood every step and always asked if I had questions. unlike others I did not feel rushed through my appointment. Thanks Dr. Shea!!!!

I previously saw Dr. Shea regarding a shoulder problem. Recently I have had lots of pain in my right knee. He began with an x-ray and then discussed various forms of treatment. I just received the last of 5 shots in my knee (not cortisone) and we will see how that helps the problem. He is always kind and stays to answer any questions I have regarding my issue.

Dr Shea does not provide full disclosure or follow up. 3 times I had to call back multiple times to get results from office visits, MRI results, and answers to questions created from phone calls with half answers. I no longer trust him. He's nice and seemed thorough, but he doesn't provide follow up and full disclosure so I know what's going on. I'm to have hip replacement, I no longer am confident he can do it right. His staff needs coaching on patient follow up.

I have gone to him for various issues over the years and is always willing to listen and give options.

i visited for hip pain, from a broken hip twenty years ago, resulting from a roller blading accident. Dr. Shea and Stephanie were vey caring and supporting the least invasive procedures, to see if these solutions would benefit my pain. I had an MRI, but it failed to show accurately due, to hardware from the originall surgery. I have had two steroid injections which did manage pain, but still limited my goals of being able to hike, ride bikes and attend regular yoga classes.

I have a teenage son who competes in motocross and unfortunately that means a high likelyhood for a sports-related injury. In his case, it was a badly broken arm. Even though the break was bad, the doctors agreed that surgery wouldn't be necessary, so we were referred to Sports Medicine specialist Dr. Michael Shea with Mercy Medical Group. With that decision, however, meant weeks in a variety of casts and braces, followed by months of physical therapy (at home in our case). Throughout regular visits with Dr. Shea, he was very attentive to my son and to me. He answered all of our questions and was very supportive of both of our needs (of course, my needs/questions/concerns were much different than my son's!). He explained in detail how the injury was healing, what the consequences of not doing the physical therapy would be (incentive for my son to do it!) and reassured me that it would not affect his upcoming growth. I was so thankful to have been referred to such a caring doctor during such a tramatic time. Thank you!
