Dr. Michael Christopher Short

I had experianced a life threatening disease that was discovered while under Dr. Shorts care, whom I had starting seeing just a short time before. His expertise allowed for the correct and best solution to address it. I would say that such had saved my life. Too, his patience with myself is exemplerary as I am not the easiest person to deal with on heath issues. As far as staff they have always been professional, prompt and courteous. For my part, I would recommend his practice to anyone seeking an MD. glg.

I had blood work done and due to anomalies that showed up with that initial work he (Dr. Short) referred me to a specialist. The timing was critical and indeed may have well saved my life. Professional and never condescending during our visit. Listens, and tolerates me with patience.

Everyone in my family goes to Dr. Short. Sometimes he does take a little bit to get to our examining room, but that is because he takes the time to listen and make sure that you understand what's going on with your health. He always greets me and my mom with a smile and a positive attitude. We both enjoy his jokes - I love puns and dad jokes - and his crazy, colorful socks. He's a really good doctor and a really nice man. Thank you, Dr. Short. Plus, his nurses know how to keep him hopping, so he may take time to explain things to you, but his nurses make sure he doesn't dawdle. Thank you, Nikki, specifically. What a wonderful, caring and thorough doctor! Dr. Short is one of the most professional doctors I have ever seen and one I trust completely . His patient interaction and listening skills always make me feel at ease as he takes the time to fully explain medications, treatment plans/options and truly listens to me as the patient. When my regular dr of over 20 years retired, I was afraid I wouldn't find another dr I trusted as much as I trusted my other dr. However, I have found that same caring and knowledgeable characteristics in Dr. Short. When I had my gall bladder surgery, he (not a member of his staff) called me directly to see how I was doing after surgery. And when I got Covid (prior to the launch of the vaccines), he was extremely thorough. Because of his knowledge and proactive treatments, he sent me to the ER. I really didn't think I was bad enough to where I needed to go to the ER and burden the hospital systems even more than they already were, but because of his proactiveness, I went when he recommended. After being in the ER for about 8 hours, the ER doctor told me that because I came in when I did, he would not need to admit me and could treat me with medication. He said had I even waited another day to come in, my story would have been so much different and I would have had to be admitted to the hospital. The ER doctor was very pleased that Dr. Short recommended I come in when I did. I'm so appreciative of Dr. Short and his complete thoroughness and proactive treatment plans. I have been going to Dr. Short for well over 15 years and I can’t say enough about the man he genuinely cares about his patients and truly gets to know them. He always asked me about my daughter and how she’s doing and we have a conversation that helps me feel very comfortable as I have a tendency to get anxious during a doctors visit. When the nurse first checks me in my blood pressure is usually a bit high but after our conversation he rechecks my blood pressure to make sure he is getting an accurate picture of what’s going on with me instead of just prescribing more blood pressure medicine. I highly recommend Dr. Short has an excellent family physician! My wife and I been seeing Dr Short for a few years. Very recently, she went into see him about Migraines. Many years ago (30) she suffered from Migraine Clusters that were controlled by a drug called Imitrex. About 10 years ago, they subsided to just normal migraines which she was able to control with OTC meds. Well, the cluster Migraines came back and she needed some relief. So, Dr Short ordered and MRI, ("which he said he didn't think would show anything"), and my wife agreed it wasn't a bad idea. But since he didn't suspect to find anything, she asked if he could give her something to provide relief. He said NO, just use OPTC meds. BTW, they don't do anything for cluster Migraines! So, we wait several days for the MRI to get approved, only to find out that Dr Short recommended us to an MRI facility that was approx 4x's as expensive as other facilities. MRI's are largely a commodity, so one will show same as the next. CIGNA asked if we would consider another more cost effective option, and we agreed. Only to find the order had to be sent back to Dr Short for approval. In the meantime, she just couldn't take the headache any longer! So, I thought about the ER, but with COVID, I was apprehensive. So, that left me with CVS Minute Clinic and Dr On Demand. As I didn't want to have to make her go out, I tried Dr On Demand. In less than 10 minutes she not only had the medication she had asked Dr Short for, but 2 refills as well! So, why would we or you ever go back to see this man? Migraines are miserable, and he didn't care enough to give her any relief until she could get the MRI?!? If the medication was that dangerous, then why did it take 10 minutes to get one from Dr On Demand, plus 2 refills? When I get better care from Dr On Demand than Dr Short, that tells me all I need to know about going back! Also, not sure if he or the clinic has interest in the MRI facility, but do your homework Dr Short and provide better, more cost effective options! No wonder Medical Insurance is the way it is with guys like this that don't care about patient pain or patient finances!!! It’s very rare these days to be able to see your doctor. You usually get a nurse practitioner or a Physician assistant. That is not the case with Dr. Short. He wants to see his patients and takes time to actually listen/talk to them. For someone who works in the medical profession and has some knowledge, I can’t tell you how much respect I have for this doctor. He came highly recommended by some of the best radiologist in the state of Texas. My husband and I have now been patients of Dr. Short and his office for several years. He will see my baby when she gets older. He makes us feel like family. I refer him out to everyone looking for a doctor and can assure you that you’re in good hands! Worst Doctor ever, horrible office staff and Doctor, no bed side manner, not professional at all. Went there for an annual physical exam , no one has followed up with me, when I’ve called the office 02 weeks later, to ask them if my lab work is done , they couldn’t find it. I’ve asked for the doctor to call me back or if I needed to schedule a follow up appointment to review my lab results. NO Answer at all! Called them again, they said , the doctor hadn’t tell them what to do!! Really?!!!!. What kind of medical office is this???. Horrible place!! Stay away from this office and this Doctor!!!! I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Short and his staff. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Short for over 15 years and we have been very satisfied with the care we have received. I have not had any problems getting medications refilled and my emails and phone calls are always responded to in a timely manner.

Dr. Short is fine. Getting ANYTHING done is like pulling teeth. I asked for a copy of the bill from a accident a month ago, NOTHING. I ask for meds to be refilled, after 4 calls they are. I even got the wrong medication sent to me. Nothing is easy here and while Dr. Short truly cares, this place is not worth it. I am on hold for 14 minutes as I type this review... to request a copy of my medical bill.... that I had to call about 3 times last month... they still have not sent it... yup, this is life at Dr. Shorts office.

Dr. Short is the best physician I've ever worked with. He is patient and kind, and takes time to truly understand your needs. He has always educated me and informed me on what he thinks would be best. A true family medicine physician.

The best doctor I've ever had. Caring, attentive, and wonderfully compassionate. I've gone to him for over three years. Tried a dr closer to me, but ended up coming back to Dr.Short.

The most accurate thing to say about the Dr and his staff is "they're professional's and it shows". I've been seen by them for many years and they've always handled everything in a prompt, professional manner. I have had some very serious health issues and Dr Short makes sure he keeps a good chart and follow up on everything. You'll be treated well.

Dr Short takes the time with me to figure out what the problem is. He does not just try to get you in and out as fast as he can to get to other patients. Went in with some breathing problems and he took the time to make sure it was Phenomena before sending me next door to the hospital. (Have other issues that would take a while to figure out what it was). He is kind and knowledgeable and understands without passing judgement.
