Reviews for Dr. Riaz Haider
Dr. Haider changed my life. I have a shoulder injury and have been on pain pills for years. He put me on suboxone and my pain is finally gone. He isnt judgemental and really cares about his patients. He doesn't treat you like an addict or doubt your issues. Best doctor experience of my life.
I was very pleased with the care that I received from Dr.Haider. He was kind and very professional. He is everything I want in a new PCP. He reviewed my medications with me and I was allowed time to ask questions. The office staff was friendly and professional. The office was clean and neat. I have to ask some of the negative reviewers if they are looking for a good doctor or a genie in a bottle? I was very pleased with the care that I received from Dr.Haider. He is not a doctor you need if you want good health care. He over medicates and doesn’t spend any time with his patients. It is all about Medicare patients and $$$$$.
First time visit and did not spend but 5 minutes with my husband. Hardly said a word I think that is so dam rude. You don't do patients like that.
My mom (87) entered OnPointe physical rehab last week and assigned to Dr. Haider. He almost killed her. She has chronic back pain due to many surgeries. The hospital did not put a new patch on her before sending her to OnPointe. I called to inform Dr. Haider that she needed her pain patches and pain pills. She has been on them for over 10 years. I asked her nurse to have him call me. He refused. My mom told him she needed her pain meds. He refused to give them to her. Each day, I begged someone to help my mom. Then, on Friday, Dr. Haider told the nurse that he would give my mom her meds IF I signed a DNR. That is incredibly unethical Sunday, my mom's blood pressure was so high (220/95) that they sent her to the ER. Dr. Haider would not call the ER dr. back either. They are writing him up for his neglect. When my mom returned to OnPointe, we insisted that she not be under his "care." Thankfully, they agreed. Read the other reviews. This dr has no business being a doctor.
*This review is a bit lengthy, but if it keeps even one person from being under the care of Dr. Haider, then itâs worth it. Last week, my mother entered OnPointeâs physical rehabilitation center in Arlington. They do not list the doctors employed there on their website, so I was unable to read reviews or further investigate the quality of care provided by the doctors. If I had, perhaps my mom would not have suffered under the care of Dr. Haider. True, online reviews arenât always reliable or accurate. Dr. Haider, though, has a significant amount of negative reviews. There are accounts of things he has done to patients under his care that range from bizarre (telling a patient to lick her hand like a cat to help with possible fibromyalgia) to the horrific (diagnosing chest pain in a patient as indigestion and then sending her home where she would later die from a fatal heart attack. Now, I will sadly add my review. I say sadly because this experience somehow left me a little more jaded about the type of care I can expect for my elderly mother going forward. My mother is 87 and was recently in the hospital for pneumonia and a UTI. She has had numerous back surgeries, is fused with titanium rods the length of her back and across her hips. As she has aged, her bones have softened and some of the screws are backing out of the rods. She lives with chronic pain. Because of this, she has been wearing a fentanyl patch and taking hydrocodone for over a decade. For some reason, when she was released from the hospital and moved to OnPointe, the hospital did not have her fentanyl patch on her. She told me about it not being on the day she arrived at OnPointe. She arrived at the beginning of last week and was put under the care of Dr. Haider. I informed her nurse that her fentanyl patch was not on, that she needed it for pain and had been on both fentanyl and hydrocodone for many years. I asked the nurse to please have Dr. Haider call me. Dr. Haider never called. When I spoke to the nurse the next day, he told me that Dr. Haider said he would not be giving my mom the fentanyl patch or hydrocodone because he was afraid she would be too groggy for her rehab exercises. I explained to the nurse that my mom has been taking those medications for so long that they do not make her drowsy, but they do make her pain tolerable. I asked again to have Dr. Haider call me or my momâs primary care physician. Dr. Haider still would not make the call. Meanwhile, my mother is enduring intense pain and, as a result, high blood pressure. She has stopped eating because she feels nauseated from not having her pain medication. Fast forward to Friday, I am still calling the nurses and begging for them to help my mom. That evening, the nurse called me back and said that Dr. Haider said he would give my mom her fentanyl patch IF I signed a DNR. This struck me as so unethical that I was sure I misheard him. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The fact that Dr. Haider would not call me or my dad or listen to my mother is ridiculous. But, trying to bribe me into signing a DNR when he can see she is going through withdrawals and is in obvious pain reaches an immoral level. Obviously, he lacks compassion and empathy. However, I fear Dr. Haider even lacks the common decency to respect his professional oath which calls for him to do no harm. He knew my mom needed her medicine, saw her suffering, and walked away - glad to be done with her. My mom continued to get worse until she finally had to be transferred to the emergency room on Sunday. Her blood pressure was 225/90. They immediately recognized the problem and began giving her fluids and fentanyl through an I.V. The ER doctor tried to call Dr. Haider, but Dr. Haider would not return his call either. He never called! The social worker and ER doctor wrote Dr. Haider up because of this situation. Once my mom was rehydrated, she returned to OnPointe. I requested that Dr. Haider not be her doctor once she returne
I’ve been seeing this Dr for several months now. He is kind and very supportive and listens. His staff is nice as well. Never long waits and takes the time to be with each patient. Thank you for a great doctors office that is easy to make appointments, in and out and generally cares about his people!!
Dirty. Everyone used the same pen to sign in (during a pandemic) No soap or paper towels in the rooms, so that also means that the doctor didn’t wash his hands when he entered the room. Doctor advised me to lick my hand (like a cat) in response to possible fibromyalgia. Couldn’t make it up if I tried.
Perfect! Really like him!!
Do not go here for the Suboxone program!!!! I’m not posting this out of anger, he just doesn’t know how to correctly help addicts and shouldn’t be offering it. You’re lucky if you get to talk for more than one minute and the very first thing said to me was “I don’t make any money off the suboxone program” I’m sure he’s a good primary care doctor but he doesn’t understand addiction. If you want a month supply and told how to take the medicine then he’s right for you. But he’s even said proudly that he is patients on the program that only see him every 4 or 5 months and addicts need someone who cares about their progress and is willing to help them understand it. Please don’t go to him if you’re truly an addict. I found the most amazing addiction and anxiety psychiatrist after I wised up and got away from Haider. Dr Julie Pittman or her NP, they are the best and can help you properly. I’d been searching for help with addiction and anxiety for so many years and she saved me. I highly recommend seeing her or her NP. They will help you and continue to do so without giving up on you. Do not go here for the Suboxone program!!!! Dr. Haidar has been my family's doctor for at least 30 years. He was my mother's doctor until she died at 97 three years ago. He is listed as my doctor on my Medicare card even though I haven't been to any doctor for 45 years but I will go to him if I ever need to.
I have been a patient of his since the 11th grade. Dr. Haider and staff provide excellent primary care. There’s never a long wait too see him.

I am posting anonymously due to the details of my experience with this Doctor. I was a Suboxone patient of Dr. Haider’s for two years. During that period of time, he drug tested me ONCE. Every appointment, he spent less than 2 minutes with me. He doesn’t prescribe Suboxone properly - and prescribes it PRN (as needed) and doesn’t prescribe on a level to maintain therapeutic results. Dr. Haider (while a very sweet and gentle man) is not trained to guide patients in addiction therapy. He offers no counseling whatsoever - all you will receive is a prescription for Suboxone - no questions asked. A Suboxone maintenance prescription isn’t enough to keep addicts clean. If you’re struggling with addiction, find a psychiatrist who specializes in this (there’s a FANTASTIC female one in Arlington on Matlock) who can counsel you, who will listen to you, and understands what you’re going through. Dr. Haider is probably a wonderful GP. However, the effort that needs to be invested in those seeking addiction therapy isn’t with this Doctor. Stay blessed. The staff there are very kind, sweet ladies but he is a terrible, uncaring, jerk. Don’t waste your money or time going to his trashy practice. He’s judgmental, doesn’t listen to you, shuts you up, and takes your money. The ugliest acting doctor I’ve ever seen, you will leave with an anxiety attack. WORST DOCTOR EVER.

Really genuine and caring doctor!
Very nice staff, especially the young lady at the front & I love Dr. Haider!
So glad I found Dr. Haider. As someone who works full time and goes to school, i really appreciate how quickly and consistently they are able to get me in. The receptionist is also the nicest lady.
I absolutely love Dr. Haider and his staff. From the beginning he has been nothing but a caring & trustworthy doctor. I have been to several other "Suboxone doctors" in the past & by far he is the best. He has always been very understanding/informed about opiate addiction. Unlike the others he has not pushed me to take the medicine a particular way but instead allows me to take it how it works best for me (instead of insisting on a high dose or a strict schedule). I would highly recommend him. His staff is very helpful & polite as well. I absolutely love Dr. Haider and his staff. From the beginning he has been nothing but a caring & trustworthy doctor. Worst doctor experience ever
Doctor has elderly patients that he does not care for. Example he does not call them when an emergency happens. Makes medication changes without examination, patients dignity is not a priority.
Dr. Riaz Haider is an amazing doctor very nice. There is a nurse that's a bit rude.
My doctor is cool as a fan! Love Riaz. Been rocking with him for 25 years. From Arkansas to TX. I don't know who you nerds are dogging my doctor and I don't care. Riaz is a kind person and a good doctor. Very smart.

My elderly father has had the flu and pneumonia three times within the last two months. My father has COPD, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and today, his nebulizer burned out. "Dr." Haider is the on-call doctor for my father's PCP, and has denied my father's request for a Rx to have it replaced. I only know this via the answering service, as it was relayed to me that he is "too busy" to even call me. This is ridiculous, and we'll likely end up in the ER again because he can't be bothered!

I used to be a Medical Assistant at this office and many times I have thought about writing a review but didn't know if I should or shouldn't. So now I write it because I'm tired of seeing these kinds of clinics and it is not fair to anyone looking for employment here or to the patients. This doctor doesn't care about his patients or employees. Now I can't go much into detail due to patient privacy but there were times when I couldn't help but wonder how this office was open due to things the doctor would tell the patients and why I was still working there when I could be working at a better place. My sister was a patient there before I started working, I had to force Dr.Haider to examine her and send her out for some x-rays (first red flag). Later I was able to read her file and saw that he misdiagnosed her (second red flag). Not a serious problem because I knew the way he was and I knew not to pay attention to him. The office manager Olivia, is honestly the worst person to speak with at that office. She was the person in charge of training me because I was going to do her job after she was gone. I went from doing half of Olivia's work and getting my own responsibilities to doing all that plus some of the bill clerk's work (while she was on Facebook, I caught her a few times), plus another girl's work who quit because she couldn't stand Olivia anymore. The office was more peaceful and easier to work at when Olivia wasn't there. Even the bill clerk would agree but of course she would never admit it to Olivia. After almost a year, I couldn't stand Olivia anymore either so I gave her a piece of my mind and a verval 2 weeks notice (couldn't stay 2 weeks so I left after 1). There are more reasons why I left but I'm not going to mention anymore because I am only doing this to warn people looking for a job here, not to complain. There is also a huge third red flag but I honestly don't think I should mention it unless necesary. I hope my situation is not the same for the people currently working there but if it is then I'll just say this. Mansfield is growing, look for employment elsewhere, you don't have to put up with the BS at that clinic. The nurse practitioners Andrea and another woman were always very nice and good people. My experience with the secretary named Joanna was completely unprofessional. I was put on hold two separate times before receiving service. While trying to make an appointment for my client, she continuously interrupted me to the point where I was unable to get a complete sentence out without speaking over me. It wasn't until I finally was sick of it enough to say, "excuse me, can I complete my sentence please?", did she let me speak. I told her that I would have to get back to them and she hung up on me without saying anything. She literally just hung up. I called back and tried to set an appointment, and she was very short to me, mind you I hadn't done anything to her other than ask about the appointment. I asked her, "okay, are you rude all the time or are you just having a bad day?" To which she responded again in a very blunt tone, "how am I being rude to you??" I paused and smirked, then made my appointment. No one should have to go through such unsavory customer service to make a simple appointment. I am not pleased. i don't know what the huff is about but i have been going to Dr haider for 10 years and he is the best Dr around i live in watauga, tx now and i travail to see him because he is a wonderful person
I don't recommend this doctor at all. The nurses are a little bit nicer however, this doctor definitely don't help you and I feel like he doesn't even know what he's doing. Every time you call to make an appointment they lie to you and say doctor will be back the next day and when you call the next day they continue saying the same thing. They don't want to do nothing at all!
Several years ago I went and left because of my insurance changed. It has changed again and I'm very blessed to be able to go back. I love the changes that he has made. He was dressed casual and (ALL) of the staff treated me so kindly. I'm back to stay and yes, I will be referring others to him.
Dr Haider did not take care of my father and he died an untimely death. My father had C-diff and the doctor took him off antibiotics and contact precautions in a nursing home/ rehab facility while my father was having active symptoms of infection. Inspire of me warning the facility that he was still contagious, Dr. Haider de not re-establish precautions. My dad's skin was severely broken down, test the doctor ignored this and continued to let him suffer. I pleaded continually with the staff.

Waited for several minutes at the front desk, upon arrival. There was no one there, nor instructions on which window to stand. I had to find the sign in clip board myself and signed in. Waited another 15 minutes before the receptionist acknowledged our presence. Was given a new patient packet to fill out, which I did and returned. Sat for another 15 minutes, now we are passed her appointment time by 15 minutes, so I asked the receptionist when my daughter was going to be seen because she is on a tight schedule with school. "I'm just finishing her chart right now!" the receptionist snapped at me. I just stood there staring at her, while she slammed papers around and never looked back up at me. I told her, "You know what, why don't you take her off your list for patients and give me back her information. I came here for a doctor's checkup, that you requested because our insurance changed this doctor to her primary. I didn't come here to catch attitude." She snapped the papers into my hand, and we walked out. So, my daughter missed two classes and didn't get seen by a doctor. Also, personal observance; the waiting room was filthy, the drapes on the windows were even held on by like 5 clips where 30 were supposed to be used. The tv playing really loudly was all in Spanish. The receptionist area and back office was disgusting, trash on her desk, files piled on top of each other. That disheveled mess was just what I could see through the pass. Will NEVER recommend this office to anyone ever. Waited for several minutes at the front desk, upon arrival. There was no one there, nor instructions on which window to stand. I was told my blood work results would be in within 2-3 days. I called on the 5th day only to have the receptionist tell me, "and you won't hear anything back because the computer was down for a day and we close at 2 today"! I'm very disappointed in the non caring or compassion for his patients.
