Dr. Robert P. Cicarell

Dr Cicarell is a very personable, caring and knowledgeable psychiatrist. 
I have been seeing him for over a year now, from my experience, he takes the time to know his patients and then provides excellent clear instructions and a very thorough evaluation.

Dr Cicerell is the best provider I have had in a long time! He listens to exactly what is going on with me and provides solutions to my problems.

Dr Robert Cicarell is my psychiatrist @ the Southern AZ VA and he is great. He is a knowledgeable and skilled Dr of psychiatry who is also caring and compassionate and makes me feel welcome and comfortable. I struggle with some very challenging mental health issues like Bipolar and PTSD thankfully having a Dr like Dr Cicarell has made it easier for me to seek and get help which can be really hard for me to do. He has had some great insights into my meds that really helped improve my quality of life. He also treats me as a whole person in an integrative medicine style. I am always anxious to get assigned a new provider since I have had some really bad experiences in the past. Being an LGBT veteran is tough since not all Dr’s are LGBT friendly or accepting of me and my partner, fortunately Dr Cicarell is welcoming of people from all walks of life including LGBT. Doctor Cicarell is a great psychiatrist and he is always very detailed in getting involved with my mental and physical health concerns such as labs, etc.

Dr. Cicarell is very professional, yet at the same time talks with you like a person, not a number, or someone less than. He is caring, and kind, but will call you on your BS when needed. He has helped me, and given me the tools to continue working on myself between visits. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Cicarell has been a great help to me. He listens to what I have to say and he also filled out my fmla paperwork. He is very compassionate and caring. I really appreciate all that he does not only for me but other Veterans that need help.

Dr. Cicarell takes a lot of time to ensure my meds are working and also the combination of meds work well together. He spends about 30-40 minutes at each appointment talking to me about what works for me and what we can cut out. He goes over my labs with me, too. Dr. Cicarell is amazing!!! His collaborative and wholistic approach to mental health is something rarely seen in his profession. He comes highly recommended based on his ability to connect with patients and bring the right treatment based on his clients demographics and personal experiences and needs.

Having been diagnosed as a disabled veteran in 1989, I have subsequently been treated at VA Medical Centers in Wilkes-Barre, PA, San Diego, CA and Tucson, AZ. Of the dozens of psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and social workers who have provided mental health care for me during the last 32 years, Dr. Cicarell has been, by far, the best mental health professional with whom I have met. Dr. Cicarell has a truly professional temperament to go along with his vast knowledge of treating veterans such as myself. Mental health and medical concepts which others I have been assigned to have, at times, not been explained to my satisfaction or to my level of understanding. Unlike the other VA practitioners, this has never been a problem during my appointments or my follow up treatments with Dr. Cicarell. His caring for me, as a patient, has been totally professional and I, as well as the other patients whom he sees are very fortunate to have been assigned to his care.

This doctor is as sharp as a tack! He appears to be an excellent doctor and was the one doctor who told me my seizures might be caused by my taking too high of a dose of the antidepressant I was taking. He is hard to find, though. It seems like he goes from one place to another frequently.

Dr. Cicarell is an amazing doctor. He always goes above and beyond for his patients, which is rare these days. I am truly grateful for the care and kindness he has given me. He not only addresses my mental health, but reviews my labs and physical health issues that may be contributing to my depression. He has also recommended many holistic remedies that have really helped and pointed out vitamin deficiencies in my lab work.

He has been my psychiatrist for around 2 years at the VA really went above and beyond to assist me with my PTSD and chronic depression. Really helped me I can say today my life is more livable I have a better quality of life I still have more to work on. Dr Cicarell is the first person to take an interest in not only my mental well being but my medical issues too. I normally don’t take the time to write a review, however, I believe Doctor Robert Ciserro deserves to be recognized as a valuable asset to the Veteran’s Hospital in Tucson.
