I’d had a history of childhood sunburns, was fair and had many moles taken off. I pointed out a mole that was small but black and asked that it be removed. Dr. Roth refused and said it was fine. I went back 6 months later, pointed it out again and was told it was ok. I insisted that he remove it. He resisted but finally took it off . He called 1 week later and said “ it’s malignant melanoma and I almost didn’t send it to the lab.” I had stage 1, level3. If I’d let it go, as he wanted, I’d be dead. Avoid this guy at all costs.

I had a melanoma on my left forearm. which had been a 1/8" square brown spot for maybe two or three years. It did not hurt or was bothersome in any way. Dr. Roth on my last visit biopsied it and as a result felt it should be removed. I was very concerned because I bruise easily because of blood thinners. The surgery was done on Tuesday, February 8th, and I have no bruise at all. He does great work.

Dr Roth is perhaps the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever dealt with and I have dealt with many due to a complex health history. He diagnoses what he thinks is wrong with you in 5 seconds. Only to have to return several times. He performs biopsies and doesn’t tell you why he is doing what he’s doing and also doesn’t give instructions on how to remove stitches afterwards. He gets offended if you ask questions. He speaks down to you in a condescending manner. I cannot stress enough how awful this man is as a medical professional. Great dermatologist! Timely identifier of non-benign dermal irregularities. Many owe him their lives.

Dr. Roth spent 9 minutes with me on a first-time visit that was supposed to be a full-body mole check. He spent more time talking about "mole mapping" (paying to have my moles photographed) than he did actually checking me. My insurance was charged $260 of which I was responsible for $124.81. I fought it. It took 8 months and a letter to the CEO/President of Penn Medicine to get the charge written off. Don't waste your time or $$. You deserve better.

Had a surgical infection and they did not respond urgently. I feel that everyone that had a hand in treating me in that office had no idea what they were doing and I did not get the proper treatment. . I ended up having to go to elsewhere to treat the open wound.
