Dr Hatfield has always been very professional. He listens to my concerns and gets me the best treatment when needed. I’ve had known Dr Hatfield since my first knee injury in high school. He has helped me for the last 16 years.

If I could give him a zero I would. I called in last week after car accident. Girl on phone said Dr does not do litigation. I told her no problem it wouldn’t be going to litigation. Had appt this morning, took day off work and arrived 45 minutes early to do paperwork along with being in x-rays from the ER. While sitting in waiting g room I could hear the dr talking to staff members saying I’m not taking this she has an attorney, well I’ll say I can’t read X-rays. Upon him coming into room, he starts to say this was a car accident and you have an attorney. I proceeded to explain yrs and that it would not go to litigation as explained to gal who set appt to begin with. Then he says we’ll we can’t read your X-rays anyway. So I called him out and said so I’m other words because I have attorney you won’t look at me? Well we can’t read X-rays… so I got up and said fine I’ll go someplace else. Upon exiting room my X-rays were up in the screen with my name and when I said funny X-rays look clear to me, he tried telling me they were another patient. I had my knee replacement 3 days ago so it's a little early of course for writing results for this surgery that went very well but I felt compelled to say a comment about their office going out of their way for me. Dr. Hatfields staff is five stars all the way, along with Dr. Hatfield! Very nice man that seems most interested in getting you better and on the way to recovery. They all are most caring and professional team at Eastt Mesa Orthopedics with Dr. Steven Hatfield and I will for sure return to them to do my right knee, that is bone to bone. I think I was treated very well as a person with needs. Dr. Hatfield's office personnel is kind and they get you in as soon as there is availability. Dr. Hatfield is friendly, personable and very knowledgeable about knees. He took the time to explain what is happening with my knee, how it works and why there is inflammation and pain. He encourages you to prevent surgery and/or knee replacement unless absolutely necessary. I appreciated hearing I did not have to give up the activities I enjoy because of my swollen knee! He provided options to control and alleviate the pain and swelling. Thank you for your honesty and time Dr. Hatfield! As of, 1/26/21, it will have been two weeks since my surgery. I had arthroscopic surgery due to meniscus tears in my left knee. At the very least, I hoped it would hurt less, but this surgery exceeded my expectations! I didn’t even dare hope for the amazing results I have experienced! I swear, Dr. Stephen Hatfield, is a wizard! My knee feels 200% better. There is not even the slightest trace of the pain I was in before! Yes, for the 1 on 1, he’s like any other surgeon I’ve dealt with, talks quickly, seems hurried, & is in & out of the room before you can form a question. Not a complaint, just an FYI. He did visit me before my surgery, & answered all of my questions. I have no complaints at all! I had my follow up appointment on 1/25/21, removed my stitches, & offered PT to help me gain full mobility. My recovery, apparently, was remarkable, as I had already gained full mobility. Would wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone!

I have been seeing Dr. Hatfield at East Mesa Orthopedics & Sports Medicine for almost two years now for treatment of osteoarthritis pain and complications. He performed surgery to remove a cyst behind my right knee cap last December, and cleaned up a tear in the meniscus of my left knee this month. I have had excellent results from the December surgery (restored mobility and pain elimination) and expect the same of this second surgery. Dr. Hatfield is very professional, knowledgeable, and has a nice office manner. His staff is always welcoming, kind, and helpful. I recommend Dr. Hatfield and his office to anyone suffering with joint injuries and arthritis pain.

This is the best orthopedic office I ever been too!!! The Drs were the only ones that figured out what was wrong with my knee. They are so helpful, kind and pateince. The ladies at the front desk are really nice as well.

Dr. Hatfield did my knee replacement, he did a great job and very nice man. I would recommend him. Now I need him to replace my right hip. That's if he does hips. I hope so. I trust him to do a great job. Thanks Dr.

Due to a medical condition, I'm very susceptible to knee injuries. Dr. Hatfield has performed two meniscus surgeries on my knee over the years and each time, I've had great results! Unfortunately, I just had another injury and even it didn't start to feel better after several days, I called Dr. Hatfield's office. To save time, they immediately called in an order for an MRI and scheduled me to see the doctor the following week. Sure enough, I injured it again, but this time it's the ACL. Dr. Hatfield was once again very compassionate, clearly explained the injury and my options. He gave me advice that he said he would give his own family member. I have always found his office staff to be pleasant and professional as well. They always answer their phone, which seems to have become a rarity nowadays. Dr. Hatfield is a fantastic doctor who is very knowledgeable and knows how to explain things better for patients to understand.

On 08/17 my husband went to see Dr. Stephen Hatfield to repair a torn Meniscus. The surgery did not go as expected and after three weeks his pain became debilitating. Then three weeks after the Surgery he was taking 800 mg of IB Propene four times a day and the anti inflammatory Indomethacin three times a day but the pain persisted. My husband called the office to see if there was anything they could prescribe to help with the pain. The staff offered the possibility of more and different anti inflame medicine but nothing for the pain,. He called back moments later just to be sure there was no misunderstanding with their message. He wanted to be sure it was still no to any pain medication. They told him the same thing. Today he is in pain, confused with their shortage of understanding and lack empathy. Dr. Stephen Hatfield is a top skilled Orthopedic sursurgeon. He recently operated on my left shoulder. I had sereous issues. I am recovering quickly with exstreme succcess. To my amaze barely any visual scaring. His facility is impecable surpassing 5 star.. The staff cares for you from admittance to discharge. Thank you Dr. Stephen Hatfield I am forever greatful Daian Ganzon

The worst Orthopedic office I have ever been too! Dr. Hatfield did a mediocre job on my shoulder surgery that required a second surgery by another surgeon to fix what was not fixed in the first surgery! I would not recommend this office to anyone!

I came to Dr. Hatfield because the so called "best ortho" in the valley who did my total knee replacement pulled my back out in surgery. I had to go back to the hospital for 3 days where they completely kept me heavily medicated I was in so much pain. Then when I went back to that doctor I had a swollen lump on the back of my leg and that doctor refused to even look at it - saying he fixed everything and I was perfect. He was so arrogant he didn't even bring up what happened to my back. I never felt so much pain in my life. I walked into Dr. Hatfield's office and they immediately knew what was wrong, they treated me and completely relieved my pain. That was 7 years ago. I was out of town one weekend and had to have proof that I had a total knee replacement. Dr. Hatfield wrote a letter and went to the store to fax it for me. He did this on his own. He saved the day! Their office always goes over and beyond what others do. I'd never use anyone but Dr. Steven Hatfield. Thanks!! Dr. Hatfield diagnosed my knee damage accurately and performed arthroscopic surgery excellently. My only complaint was that he kept prescribing Vicodin. I tore up the prescriptions in his office each time. I appreciate his awareness that my knee pain was real and significant, but for some patients, opiate painkillers are too dangerous.
