Steven Vincent Teynor

Years ago Dr. Teynor treated me for a mental disorder caused by a tramatic car accident. It was the worst medication rollercoaster anyone would hope to not go through. Not recommend for serious mental affliction!

Dr Teynor is the worst psychiatrist I have ever had. This man completely lacks empathy or any social skills. If you want a psychiatrist who has you fill out a 15 question, questionnaire with a 1 to 5 rating , based upon how you presently feel, sign up to see this guy. He will see you for 15 min, hand you a script and move you out the door. This doctor should be an anesthesiologist as that requires no social skills. If you don’t expect empathy, compassion or a doctor who has any social capacity sign up to see this doctor and you won’t be disappointed. Dr. Teynor has been seeing my special needs daughter for many years. She is non-verbal with a rare genetic disorder. Dr. Teynor has listened to me as her parent/guardian as we've navigated her disability and the regression and cognitive decline that is common with her diagnosis. He has researched ways to help her with the issues that come up and has always been considerate and kind to my daughter. We look forward to a continued professional relationship with him. I saw Dr Teynor for a number of years. If you want to put up with his quirks he is ok. Often times he would get off on a tangent of his own, especially about American health care systems. I often listened to his travel logs about skiing in Europe. He refuses to have a telephone in his office even with his receptionist so he doesn’t have to deal with immediate situations. I don’t know what happens if you have an emergency. Absences are never forgiven no matter what your excuse is. The session that he threw out the total F* bomb four times I decided to find someone else. He can treat mental illness but to me , he needs some counseling on what is professional and appropriate. His use of foul language was quite traumatic for me. Those of his profession should help not harm. When I called him out on this he excused himself by saying “I have quite a potty mouth at home. “ Inexcusable to me.

Although the staff was friendly I am very dissapointed with Dr. Teynor. I left feeling even worse than when I came in.

I recently moved to Utah from out of state in need of serious mental health care for MDD with anxiety. I have been treated by almost a dozen different providers for over 25 years. The 1st appt I had with Dr. Teynor, he could tell something was seriously wrong with me. After meeting with him regularly for several months, it was determined I had been miss diagnosed for the past several years and put on several different bi-polar, antipsychotic and ADHD medications. My mind and body were so screwed up, I didn't even know who I was anymore. Dr. Teynor was very honest and forward with me. He started taking me off my then current medications very quickly, starting with my very 1st appt. I was scared, upset and very uncomfortable with his approach, and in the end, he'd taken me off 4 medications, cut 2 others in half and replaced them with 1 new one. I can honestly say that I have never felt better in my life!! Even my family noticed a big difference and it's all thanks to Dr. Teynor and his "unique" way of treating his pts. He's generally good when he's good but when he's not it's kind of problematic. He helped reverse some problematic bipolar treatments I was working through but despite it not being my fault, he constantly go on me about being late when I was with my parents that couldn't be on time to save their lives. I do have to fault him for not seeing the trauma that a little bit of prodding would reveal and he is adamant that one cannot be healthy with alters so I left him immediately

Dr. Teynor is extremely knowledgable regarding diagnosis and medication management. He is easy to talk to, professional, compassionate and direct. He is incredibly helpful - an outstanding psychiatrist in all respects.
