I’ve been seeing Dr Shondel for years - she is friendly and always takes the time to listen

I’ve seen Dr Shondel for years . She has always taken the time to answer my questions , and to address any concerns I might have . I have never felt rushed or awkward .

Found a lump in my breast and called office to schedule appointment, no response. Literally went in to the office and another doctor, Dr. Monte was there at the time. I was able to see him within the hour and he immediately sent me down to Akron General for a sonogram. Bottom line...I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I never received a call from Dr. Shondel to follow up on my diagnosis. Not acceptable.

Very rude and made us feel as if we our questions were bothersome. She told us robotic surgery would be easier and I’d have four incisions. I ended up in severe pain for weeks after and I had six incisions. One herniated. When we went in for a follow up and showed her the herniated incision she said it would be fine. As if she didn’t want to acknowledge a problem with her surgery. Three years later it’s a very large hernia! I have nothing good to say and will never recommend her. Awful.

I'm a fairly new patient of Dr. Shondel's and I must say that I love her and her office in Hudson. The staff is always super friendly and helpful (they even fought with my insurance on my behalf and WON, which both my pocketbook and I are big fans of). As for Dr. Shondel herself: She takes time to answer your questions and makes sure you understand, has a great personality that puts you at ease, and the wait time in the three times that I've been there has never been more than five minutes.

After 10 years of normal PAPs, I tested positive for HPV again. I read up on the newest AMA recommendations and found that what I was being recommended to do by Dr. Shondel was more aggressive than those the AMA recommended. I had just had a surgery two weeks prior, and I wanted to put my appointment on hold for the time being. I cancelled my appointment (which was on the following Tues), on a Thurs (5 day notice). I received a letter of dismissal stating I no showed.

The first time that I had ever seen this doctor, she was not very welcoming & immediately insisted that I have multiple tests performed,issued an ultrasound in which they frightened me half to death about, said that my baby's stomach looked thin, said she would like to see me twice a week for 2 ultrasounds & hook me up to the fetal heart rate monitor (in which she left me hooked up to for over an hr). They said that if this issue didn't clear up then I would have to be induced (all in 1st appt!

I wasn't neglected when I needed treatment for my pain with an ovarian cyst, when I asked questions about my condition and surgery that her resident recommended, I was dismissed from the office. Unethical and unprofessional to say the least
