I was a patient of Dr V. Setia for a while and, due to lapse of insurance and some personal issues, I did not see her for about a year and a half. I had to cancel my last two appts due to a family emergency. I called this morning to see if Dr Setia would see me, if I would need to come on a a new patient or not. The woman that answered the phone was extremely rude, with a condescending tone...and she had the audacity to say I was a no show for several appts when, first, I called ahead of time to cancel two appts. What a rude, obnoxious staff member! I will never visit that office again. The front office staff is supposed to be the face of the practice....this staff member needs to be evaluated for that attitude. I was a patient of Dr V. I am a former patient of Dr. Setia. I loved her, but her staff is always so rude, and never any help.

I saw Dr. Setia for well over ten years, and I have recommended her to scores of people. She diagnosed one of my stepdaughters with cancer and had been revered by our family. When another daughter aged out of her pediatrician's office and needed a PCP following a medical crisis, Dr. Setia looked over her paperwork and summarily said NO to taking her on as a patient. My daughter was in dire and immediate need of a caring professional, and we had nowhere to turn. Dr. Setia's callous refusal to help me, a long-term, loyal patient in a moment of family crisis, has compounded a very difficult situation. I've left her care and would not recommend her knowing what I know now. I saw Dr. Setia for well over ten years, and I have recommended her to scores of people. Dr.Setia is amazing but her stuff is rude.

Dr. Setia is absolutely wonderful and thorough. The office staff, however, are very unhelpful and rude. I called for a referral and was told I hadn’t been a patient since 2018, which is not true at all since I was under her care for chronic conditions and medication. Then when they find my info, they somehow blame me for the fact that I have two charts. That’s an office error, not a patient error. I understand there are certain referral rules to follow, but you don’t have to be rude and abrasive while delivering it. The staff also acted like I was crazy for calling them when I was just following the instructions given to me by my insurance provider when disputing a large bill due to my referral having expired for that appt during the time I was under Dr. Setia’s care.

Dr. Setia has been my PCP for 18 years, since I moved to Athens. At her first glimpse of me, she noted something something potentially serious which no other doc hadn't identified over decades. I do (and have) trust her with anything.

Dr. Setia is the BEST doctor I've ever had. She is a good listener and genuinely has her patients best interests in mind. Since moving, I still make the 1.5 hour drive for my visits with her. I will not switch GP's until I absolutely have to.

This office has been like family to me; been with Dr. Setia for 17 years everyone's very professional and very courteous.

Dr. Setia is a talented, caring, professional and tireless physician. Our family is grateful to be in her care. In the midst of a chaotic healthcare system, she provides such peace of mind.

I've seen this doctor for a year and the experience has simply gone from bad to worse, and now I am finding myself a new primary care physician. Dr. Setia's receptionists are rude, inefficient, and clearly lack any motivation to improve. Dr Setia included, the office staff acts as though your presence is an annoyance. On two separate occasions, Dr. Setia ignored my previous medical history and pursued testing (and treatment) that was completely inconsistent with my needs. I was shocked when I gave her the name of a rare blood disorder (that my mother has) and asked that I be tested and her response was instead to test me for lupus, because it occurs much more frequently. I paid for that test and several other unfounded, inconclusive tests ordered by Dr. Setia over the next several months. When I finally got in to see a specialist they immediately had me tested for the blood disease and I was diagnosed (positive for it) within 2 weeks. The overall lack of professionalism at this practice is an absolute shame. Fulsomely recommend. I recommend that UGA listserv people looking for a primary care doc see her all the time. From the instant I walked in her office in 2002 she saw an physical anomaly that no one (including myself) had noticed and she immediately investigated. She is kind, spends time with you, and her learning and experience is top-notch. I haven't experienced a rude office staff, but even if that's so, don't let them stop you from seeing her. Dr. Setia is an awesome doctor. She listens to her patients and she cares and it shows. I've been seeing her since 2012 and have no plans to leave her practice anytime soon. Love her and would recommend anyone who is seeking a caring doctor!

Apparently will dismiss you from her practice for missing appointments that you did not make and did not get a reminder call for. Bedside Manner is lacking, and often will not listen to or will dismiss your questions or concerns. Seems they are more interested there in shuffling through as many people as possible rather than actually treating each patient and helping them understand what is going on. Being dismissed is a blessing in disguise as I wanted to find a more helpful and patient doctor. She listens and asks questions until she understands your condition. A rare trait among physicians.

I always felt dismissed by her and the office staff. I thought her bedside manner was always lacking and I once waited in the room for her for 45 minutes (this was after the waiting room time!) The office itself didn't take advantage of any modern convenience - no email or online prescriptions and then they stopped using faxes as well, so the only way to get a prescription was to go in person. Such a hassle!
