The doctor and the clinic prescribed the wrong medication and if I weren't a med doctor myself we could have had a tragedy! They were not enough quick to resolve the issue either. Lack of real care in medical system is a medical side effects of treating medicine as a business and only business!!!!! They say; so what I pay so much money for malpractice so what if I make major mistakes. Anyway people are too busy or too ignorant to count us accountable either!!!... It's impossible not to make any mistakes since we all are humans but lack of empathy and follow up was not something you can ignore. Hope they do better for the sake of themsleves and the community. Dr Atluru has been treating my son for the last 9 years and I truly thank her for how well he is doing. She has always had an open relationship with me and all medical decisions are made together. She is very smart, kind and has a wonderful bedside manner. Looking forward to seeing her soon.

very vague. doesn't help and just prescribes medication. she has the intelligence but isn't worth seeing. seen her for 8 years and waited in waiting room for well over an hour. UNACCEPTABLE and then wait another 1/2 hr for there to see me. haven't seen her in 6 years because I went to new doctor.

Apathetic, callous and rude. Our son was born with down syndrome and hydrocephalus and was admitted to the NICU for over a month. During the most emotionally unbearable time of our lives, Dr. Atluru walks in and in the most smug and cavalier manner states, "yeah he's going to be low functioning". Not only is that statement inappropriate & unprofessional, it's also completely inaccurate & delivered with zero empathy, zero optimism, & zero compassion. His father and I work at winthrop & can honestly say, Dr. Atluru is the antithesis of the Winthrop model & standard of care. Apathetic, callous and rude. Dr. Atluru found my sons very rare genetic mutation that everyone else missed...she is the best.

Dr. Atluru was inappropriatly rude and hurtful to my son today. She took it upon herself to correct him, criticize his lack of knowledge, and told him something was wrong with him. He was there to be tested for ADHD and this was how she treated him. She bullied him. Terrible bed side manner. My son told me that she made him feel stupid. Congratulations Dr. Atluru! Dr. Atluru could not even return my calls to discuss my daughters MRI results. Never notified me what we’re the next steps as far as treatment. Impossible to get in touch with. No communication whatsoever. I will never go back to her again. Extremely disappointed.

Do Not bother bringing your child to this office unless you are willing to wait AT LEAST 1 hour before being seen by the assistant. After waiting an hour, the assistant informed me AGAIN that the Dr. would be with me soon. EVERYONE’S time is important which is why I arranged my own day so that I could get to this appointment on time. It is completely UNACCEPTABLE AND DISRESPECTFUL to leave patients waiting for an HOUR (or more). I got up and left without being seen today. Will NOT be returning!

She hasn't been my son's dr for almost 2 years she has gone through some tough times with us and when my son had to go the emergency she was there and stood beside us and explained everything she is so patient with my son and my son loves her

Unprofessional is putting it mildly. If I could give her and her offices (both Mineola and Bethpage) no stars, I would. My 5 year old daughter had a episode that resembled (and has yet to be confirmed as) a seizure. She had an EEG on February 10th. Since then I've called 4 times and my pediatrician's office has called as well. No response from the doctor and an indifferent, apathetic approach from the secretaries who refuse to give myself and my pediatrician's office information on when they will review the results and fax over. Even my pediatrician's office is shocked by the behavior and the lack of response from Dr. Atluru and the Winthrop employees. It's abundantly clear that we are the lowest on the doctor's list of priorities. Of all the people I've spoken to, no one has waited 2 weeks for a doctor to review EEG results and then be met with a defensive and nasty attitude from the secretaries when expressing our concern and frustration. And regarding the office visit, Dr. Atluru's bedside manner was so terrible it was almost laughable. She was incredibly rude to my daughter, ignoring her and then yelling at her when she was asking questions (not sure why this woman chose PEDIATRIC neurology if she can't handle a 5 year old's curiosity). Her approach overall resembled someone who was too exhausted with their job to express even an ounce of interest. So here we sit, waiting and waiting and waiting, while my daughter's condition remains a mystery. Fear, frustration, anger, and doubt are just a few of the overriding emotions that govern us right now. Thanks Dr. Atluru...for nothing. Unprofessional is putting it mildly. I saw her for 18 years. She found the only drug combination that worked. Showed me research regarding various options. When I travelled from another state made me the last appointment. I did recommend her to my patients later.

Not good. She does not return your phone calls on time and I didn't find her to be concerned with my son's ADHD.
