Dr Bixenman was my eye doctor from 1977 10 1993 I wish he was closer as I now live in Wisconsin. He was a fantastic doctor and an expert in his field. Miss you. Mary leonhardt

Terrible Doctor cracking innuendo jokes about where I come from and education in a negative manner, poor medical evaluation.

Saw Dr. Bixenman for visual snow and he spent more time making me incredibly uncomfortable by telling me how pretty my eyes were, how badly he wished he were my age again, and making odd jokes to my mother and I than actually discussing my syndrome with me. Deeply dismissive of my case. I would not recommend this doctor period. If you are struggling with visual snow you will be able to learn as much about your case from him as you would from a Target Optician. Don’t waste your time or money with him. Dr. Bixenman is a gross, inappropriate man making all kinds of innuendos to a female patient. Thankfully I was in the room with my daughter and we were both absolutely floored by his inappropriate comments, my poor daughter, she was VERY uncomfortable and we could not wait to get out of his office. Outside of this behavior he also referenced God throughout the visit, if we'd wanted to discuss the issue with God we could've gone to church for that and saved the $150 copay for the visit. Lastly, as our COVID numbers skyrocket he told my daughter to remove her mask stating "they don't do any good anyway". Ugh! Worst doctor either one of us have ever had to deal with. We were referred to him as "the best" for a condition that needed "the best" to evaluate, but in our opinion he is "the worst".

Very knowledgeable! Great Dr. personable and friendly. Listened to all my questions and helped me very much!!

He’s a very awesome Dr. he’s different. He talks different and very concerned about my diagnosis. I’ve never had a bad visit he always makes me and my family feel welcome. Answers all my questions and makes me feel like a dr who cares . He was more concerned then my neurologist. He a cool guy.

He is a very unprofessional provider. I myself work in the medical field. For several years I lived out of town and was hard for me to attend every follow up. At my neurologist visit my doctor shared Dr. Bixenmans notes with me, that contained his personal opinion on me due to me having tattoos. I was very cordial and professional with him at my visits, and I found his personal opinion in my medical notes very off putting and unprofessional. Very uncalled for. When u give a negative rating. U can’t say how u feel. Dr Bixen was very rude in a nice way. He he is demeaning to the doctors that are helping me. He basically said I was faking. Like a kid with no symptoms but claims they are sick. Terrible person in a nice way. Doesn’t excuse the way I was treated

I was seeing Dr Bixeman about my double vision problem. I found him very competent, amusing and reassuring. I had to wait some three months to get an appointment with him, which indicates he is popular. The double vision problem? He prescribed glasses that solved the problem. Thanks, Dr. Bixeman!

I visited Dr Bixenman on March 1, 2021 for my double vision problem. I found the doctor to be very cordial and funny. He answered all my questions and I totally enjoyed the visit.

Dr. Bixenman is inappropriate with female patients. He is an excellent doctor. He was the only one who could provide a diagnosis for my vision condition, after I had seen dozens of medical professionals who couldn't figure it out. But it was very uncomfortable being in his office alone. His joking comments about removing clothing, being in the presence of a beautiful young lady, etc., were totally inappropriate. If you are in need of a neuro-ophthalmologist, he is the best in town. But if you are female, bring a support person with you to the appointment.

As a patient who is a woman, there has been a consistent lack of professionalism & bedside manner when it comes to this doctor. He comes highly rated for some reason, however he is downright inappropriate at times, & often is creepy or crass. This is not a one off incident, this is consistent behavior across several appointments and has been witnessed by others. He does not listen to his patients and is derisive of them, & also completely lacks self awareness with the comments he makes. Tucson is not so small of a town that there are not other specialists available.

Dr Bixenman is WONDERFUL! He really knows what he's doing and has helped me so much! I don't even live in Arizona -- I live in Washington State -- and I specifically fly to Arizona so I can have him as my eye doctor. He is the best at what he does.

Dr. Bixenman is probably the most arrogant doctor I have ever met. I requested a change to my eyeglass prescription but he ignored my request and never told me that he had.. Worse, I came to him for a specific vision problem. He told me repeatedly that nothing could be done. However, I found a specialized clinic in another state. The new prescription I got there has allowed me to drive at night again. I would never recommend him for any health issue.

My husband had a severe cerebellar stroke last August. His primary care physician recommended he see Dr. Bixenman for double vision associated with the stroke. Dr. Bixenman gave my husband a prescription that did not correct his problem but actually made it worse. So we scheduled another appointment with him for today. My husband, who still has trouble walking and gets very tired, waited a full half hour for Bixenman and then just walked out in disgust. How do these doctors get away with this?

It is my opinion that Dr. Wayne Bixenman is a highly qualified and very personable physician. His opthalmalogical skills appear to be of the highest order. His 'bedside manner" is exemplary. He has honored his appointment times with me and his staff members have been highly professional and very helpful.

Dr Bixenman is the most knowledgeable Opthomologists I have ever encountered, and I have been going to Opthomologists for the past 65 years. His specialty in Neuro Opthomology leaves him as the sole Neuro Opthomologists in Southern Arizona.

Dr. Bixenman is very knowledgeable and good at what he does. I have recommended him to other people who need eye care.

Performed surgery to correct double vision issues several years ago. Totally corrected the problem with a re-occurrence!!!!
