I tore my ACL (but I didn't know it at the time) and went to the emergency room, knee swollen, and I could not put my weight on it. It was super painful. I was told to come back and visit Dr. Schrader who gave me an x-ray and told me nothing is broken and everything is fine. I was prescribed physical therapy (which the physicians told me that, because I was flexible I hyper extended my leg and that's why it is swollen and difficult to walk on). Months later, I could walk on it but never pivot. I went on a carrousel ride and my knee popped again, swelled and I couldn't walk. I went back to him, he gave me an x-ray and told me,"Nothing is broken." Months went on and I was in pain and couldn't do the sports I wanted. I finally (after a year later when I tore it and visited the emergency room) went to a different doctor who felt my knee, pushed it to make it extend out and said flat out," You probably have an ACL tear and need surgery. I'm going to give you an MRI just to make sure." I went to get that MRI and they told me is was a remote (meaning old) tear of the ACL and meniscus. Dr. Schrader did not help me and made me feel that my pain was do to something else. I do not recommend ever seeing him. It was the most awful experience ever. Dr. Schrader is one of a kind! He puts your child's mind to ease and explains everything one step at a time. Your bedside manner is amazing and your knowledge is superb! Thank you for all you do and have done for our children!

Everyone in the office was professional yet friendly. They made sure we understood everything.

Dr schrader mis managed and misdiagnosed my daughter who is nonverbal. He delayed care and prolonged suffering. His staff was confrontational and unhelpful. I was and still am totally shocked by this experience. Until this experience I would have recommended Akron Children's hospital and all their physicians with out hesitation. I now can no longer do that. Very sad.

Dr. Schrader knows his stuff! He always tries to accommodate you when you have to be seen last minute! Great bedside manner.
