I have left very few reviews in the past, and have never left one for a doctor’s office. I suffer from sleep apnea. I scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Bakst on October 25. He did a very perfunctory exam on me, basically asking me questions that a 1st year med student need could ask. He then advised that I needed to have a sleep study done at a local hospital, which I had performed on November 6. Dr. Bakst was supposed to review the sleep study, and forward it to an ENT Doctor who would do further research. I called Bakst’ office several times in the following weeks and was told that they didn’t have the sleep study from the hospital yet. I then called the hospital Sleep lab and was told that the study had been forwarded to to Dr. Bakst a week earlier, and the email hadn’t even been opened. Call the ENTs office several times, they said it had not been sent over. I followed up with Bakst’ office and was told on three different occasions that it had been sent over. UNTRUE. Today, it is January 3 and I had to physically drive to Bakst’ office, so that I could pick up the sleep study and deliver it to the ENT. I was lied to, and ignored, by Dr.Bakst’ staff. I don’t know if he was responsible or the staff was responsible or that they had a problem with me. I even asked that question of his staff – is it personal? What have I done wrong? I have never encountered Service (or lack thereof) like this in my life. Maybe Dr Bakst is the problem, or maybe it’s his staff. Doesn’t matter. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!! Without exaggeration, I called this practice over 20 times. The last few times, I even asked to speak to Dr. Bakst and then asked him to call me. Surprise surprise, I heard nothing. I would still like to speak with him, if he had the common courtesy to return the call. My apologies for the length of this review.

This is my first visit with Dr. Bakst. I was impressed with his expertise. Dr. Bakst is such experienced doctor, very nice to patient too. I really appreciate his advice and medical treatment on my nose breath problem.

Dr. Bakst is a doctor's, doctors. He saved be from the ravages of Covid-19 pneumonia. Kind, caring and competent. Can't ask for more than that when your life is on the line.

this is regarding the office staff my mother had been given an appt for 11-07-2019 at 2.00pm and therefore on this date i took my mother for her appointment the office staff said that she did not have an appointment i told them that i left the appt card at home and said that i called the office and asked if she can have a sooner appt because it is a follow-up per her release from the hospital on October 29th during which conversation was told no appt available earlier than 11-07-2019 which had been made previously i insisted she must be seen because i repeatedly told them she was released from the JFK hospital on October 29th and we were instructed to follow up with the doctor both office people looked thru the computer system under different areas and insisted that no one could have made an appointment for 11-07 at 2.00pm and further, a different area in their system showed there was never an appointment that was cancelled either and that was their further proof that there was never an appointment on 11-07-2019 and, further they can not see her at all until 11-19-2019 at 1.15 pm---which i agreed to bring my mother back at that time after taking my mother home, i returned to the office with the appointment card at which point she asked for the name again and now immediately saw a notation in the system which showed the appt for 11-07-2019 was rescheduled and a call was made to my correct telephone number and there was no answer someone in the office knows how to manipulate the system to cover the irresponsible and inefficient staff--- the doctor is extremely professional and focused but, the office staff is not because this is the second time this has happened and for this reason i feel i must make a strong comment this is regarding the office staff my mother had been given an appt for 11-07-2019 at 2.00pm and therefore on this date i took my mother for her appointment … More

Called the office to confirm an appointment on Friday. The appointment is on Monday. The office is closed! No way to confirm the appointment and no way to speak to anyone other than the answering service. I asked when the office would be open and asked if there is any way I can confirm the appointment since no one has called me and she hung up on me. I like Dr. Bakst, but it seems in reading the reviews about all the other doctors in the group that they have a problem with good office help.

I saw Dr. Bakst in regard to a sleep study. The appointment time was kept, with the previous patient leaving as I was checking in.

Waited 3 weeks for an appointment. Then waited 2 weeks to be scheduled for a sleep study, which they never scheduled. Called and they never called me back. 5 weeks wasted on a problem that I urgently need to be addressed. Horrible!! Search for another doctor that cares.

Dr. Bakst is very nice. However, his office manager, Cindy is incredibly rude & childish. When we wanted a second opinion from a different Dr in same practice, we specifically asked to speak with her since Mom(88) doesn't like confrontation. Instead Bakst' asst called Mom who was terribly upset. I then called furious to talk with Cindy about it, who spoke over me, insisted I was yelling, told me she would have an adult conversation with me then hung up. So Bakst & Amy yes, Cindy should be fired.
