Anand Vora

Horrible experience. This doctor has an ego complex that sadly affects patient care. As a healthcare provider myself, I would not recommend him for anything other than straight forward orthopedic injuries. UPDATE:. I saw a new surgeon who took standing x-rays of both feet and said they completely collapsed in 3 planes. I'm being fitted for braces, and eventually will need fusions of both feet. He said all the inflammation control in the world can't help this. "I have no words for that surgeon" as he shook his head. Dr Vora has no time or patience for complex care. I have severe inflammatory arthritis that has been resistant to treatment over the past 6 years. As a result I have had many spinal fusions and joint surgeries. I am also a primary care practitioner. My mid foot on both feet began to collapse due to the arthritis (that has been treated aggressively by my rheumatologist). The first appointment, Dr Vora states the joint collapsed and that surgery would be painful with a long recovery but likely successful if a test steroid injection worked. We decided to begin with steroid injections and see if pain would resolve. It did, completely. Second follow up he stated that the injection was definitive in proving the pain was solely a result of the joint issue. He stated he would do serial joint injections frequently (as soon as every 3-6 months) to avoid surgery. Short lived relief brought me in for a second injection so I made an appointment weeks in advance. The office messed up my appointment time then become very rude, the MA stating she specifically recalls the time and date of my appointment several weeks ago (???). With 30 years experience in medicine, I would imagine she's has had contact with at least a few hundred patients (10-20/day x 20 days) and she remembers our conversation specifically. That's a superpower and way more talent than I will ever have. I got in due to a last minute cancellation and Dr Vora was rude, short with me, and stated "surgery will not take all your pain away. I do not recommend it." I reminded him of our previous visits, complete resolution of my pain post injection, and his own evaluation of my condition. I asked him why he even brought it up as I was not there for a pre-op, just a steroid injection so I could walk without severe pain that was radiating all around the area. He aggressively states "you need to get inflammation under control and this injection won't take the pain away, neither will surgery." Perplexed, I say I'm on a biologic and Otezla, have kept an antinflamatory diet, etc. He says "I don't know what those drugs are, you need to decrease inflammation". This doctor is treating patients with rheumatology conditions and doesn't know the mechanism of action of common pharmaceutical agents used in treatment of arthritis. He could've just asked what they do, and I would've gladly told him but that would require humility. I felt that he was condescending throughout the entire visit. Within 2 days of the injection, my pain, radiating and all was gone, completely. I began looking for a different provider immediately because, thank goodness, we have choices. I will proudly say that in 30 years I have never had a patient tell me they've had anything less than an excellent experience. It is my privilege to care for patients, it's not a patients privilege to be cared for by me. I'll keep my philosophy, and this doctor (as well as a few select staff) can keep their God complex. I would recommend Dr. Vora, very knowledgeable and professional. I had major foot surgery with another doctor out of state, but when I started seeing Dr. Vora, he made sure I was on the path to recovery by explaining to me what was healed and what still needed more time, etc.

Dr. Vora has an excellent manor with his patients he took his time explaining what needed to be done and why. Then the week of surgery he called me to review the procedure making sure I understood what to expect. Dr. Vora’s PA Matt called me the day after surgery making sure there were no issues. I practiced 38 years as a chiropractor always trying to find the best orthopedic doctors to refer my patients to who needed orthopedic foot care. Dr. Vora always exceeded my expectations for patients with great results. Due to foot pain, I visited Dr. Vora. He took X-Rays and told me my foot had collapsed. I had surgery and saw him for a few follow-up visits. He never told me I had Charcots Foot. A few years later, I am left with a foot that need regular (every 3-6 month) follow-ups and possible amputation.

I love him. He’s extremely efficient in a visit. But, makes you feel welcome, valued & will make you laugh too. He never pushes you toward any certain option. He really is great.

His evaluations of patient conditions are not accurate. My husband was in great deal of pain and he claims nothing was wrong. Thankful for other specialist that helped my husband.

Dr. Vora told me the bone fragments in my ankles did not exist (six x-rays disprove that) and that he would not do anything for the tarsals and metatarsals I fractured as a teenager. He said I only have arthritis and my only real solution was to "get moving and lose weight." Only see him if you want to be insulted.

Waited 40 min past my scheduled appt. although he diagnosed me quickly, spent a total of 5-10 min with me.

Dr. Vora is a very efficient, competent, and direct doctor. He seems to be very knowledgeable. I would recommend him.

A pleasant experience from the time I entered until the time I left. Dr Vora explained everything in detail and several times asked me if I had questions. Took care of my issue where several previous Drs misdiagnosed.

Dr. Anand was a pro. I blew out my Achilles on a Saturday. I saw him that Monday AM where he explained and discussed all the option’s pros vs cons. Operation was done in exactly 24 hours after that meeting. The staff around him were diligent, kind, and highly skilled. I was in and out in 3 hours and left fully confident in recovery expectations and next steps moving forward. Went to him for a second opinion on my ankle injury. Had a broken tibia talus, and 3 torn ligaments. Took 3 X-rays, didn't even look at my MRI and said I was fine and didn't need any treatment even though I can barely walk and am in daily pain

I fell in February and was told by immediate care that I had a sprained ankle. I had a great deal of swelling on the exterior of my right foot. After a month without it getting better, I went and saw Matt, Dr Vora's PA at IBJI in Libertyville. I was told I needed more time to heal.... And felt that to be true. Fast-forward to June.... After several follow up appointments later..... I started having more pain.... But on the inside of my foot! Whaaaat? They took an xray of the new area of pain and found I had an accessory navicular bone... Which is I guess....."rare" and typically does not pose an issue until injury if not noticed by my age.. (37). I had no idea. Dr. Vora eventually recommended surgery to remove this bone after I had already done physical therapy... Which made my pain worse. Physical therapy IS, after all.... Supposed to help relieve pain.... Not make it worse. I had the surgery at the end of June. Not fun at all.... But Dr Vora and his team have been amazingly helpful and kind. The surgery center it was done at was awesome as well. This is a Dr who is actually caring of his patients. I've called or emailed and received very timely responses.... Super surprising from a Dr!! Although I'm still in the healing process, I know he has my best interests in mind. He has a positive attitude and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend Dr Vora to literally everyone. Dr. Anand Vora performed surgery o first my left ankle, then my right ankle. Having been left disabled by childhood Polio, I was amazed when he showed me before and after x-rays of many ankles he had surgically repaired, I now walk. No wheelchair, no cane. Dr Vora performed surgery on me, and I walk! I have experienced two miracle surgeries. Dr. Vora performed them both.

Saw the PA twice before I ever saw the doctor, and when I did see him he had no bedside manner. Was actually mean and unhelpful. Would not recommend him.

Dr vora is a great surgeon. I was not able to do much with my ankle but he fixed it now i can go ice skating and run again the small thing i couldnt do he had brought back to me. As long as you follow his recovery plan it will change your life i recovered from the surgery in 2 months!!! Highly reccomend him.

Couldn’t be happier to have had the opportunity to have Dr Vora as my husbands foot surgeon. What a nice man! He’s a fabulous surgeon with a bedside manner more like a friend than a Dr. he can put anyone at ease. His skill is unmatched and yet he’s humble. Great experience!

What an outstanding surgeon. I broke my fibula and ankle on a work trip 7 months ago, and now have a plate with multiple screws in my leg/ankle. Being 28, I was terrified this injury would drastically affect my physical well-being the rest of my life. After being a patient of Dr. Vora's, I can honestly say that I wouldn't recommend anyone but him to any of friends/family in the future. He did outstanding work, and I'm SO thankful he has given me the ability to get back to my normal life. He is professional and beyond intelligent in what he does. My injury was a worker's comp case (which can be overwhelming to deal with), and he has been supportive to ensure I am healing properly, and not pushing myself more than I could handle. Dr. Vora is a spectacular doctor who wants to do what is right by the patient, not the practice. I had two previous ankle surgeries at RUSH, however, the damage of my ankle was so much worse that RUSH’s two operations would’ve never worked because I needed an entire ?ankle allograft. Before my surgery with Vora I couldn’t even walk a mile without my ankle swelling like a balloon; now, a year later, I am able to do any activity without any pain what-so-ever. It’s such a night and day difference.

Dr. Vora did surgery on my relative. Not only did it not fix the problem, it made things worse and more painful. They will never be able to do many of the things they once could, again. If I could give a rating of no stars, I would.

I fell 30 feet to concrete 48 years ago in Champaign, Il. For years, I searched the top surgeons of 5 Chicago university hospitals looking for a surgeon I could trust that had completed a fellowship in foot & ankle. I had already had a triple arthrodesis on both feet and amputation had been discussed. Dr. Vora does his own surgery and I can't praise Dr. Vora enough. He always takes time to answer my questions. He is very professional yet friendly, kind, & patient. I had major reconstruction of my right foot & a total ankle replacement. Before surgery I used 2 canes to get around & now I mow my lawn. After acting on the recommendation of a colleague who had a very positive experience, I've had both of my feet operated on by Dr Vora over the past year and have been extremely pleased. Dr Vora and his staff have always been professional and attentive to my questions, and I am very happy with the outcome of my surgeries.

Dr. Vora did a great job with my recent foot surgery. He removed a schwanoma from the bottom of my foot. I had no complications and a very straight-forward recover. He explained everything very clearly and was easy to work with.

I’ve seen a lot of doctors in different states, none gave me the confidence that Dr. Vora gave me. He suggested an ankle fusion as my best course of treatment. My recovery timeline was on point, my gate is normal, and my only regret is that, I hadn’t met him sooner.

Was referred to Dr. Vora by another doctor. When I made my appointment I asked if I should bring previous x-rays and the response was "No, he has an x-ray machine". When checking in they asked for my x-rays. Dr. Vora did not seem interested in hearing any of my concerns and I felt rushed. He said I could have surgery or live with the pain. I knew that. He did not give me much assurance that surgery would be a success. I saw Dr. Vora for no more than FIVE MINUTES and left unhappy.

Several years ago Dr. Vora performed a fusion of my great toe. When the swelling went down I felt a sharp pain on the bottom of my foot - one of the two screws was pushing through my skin and needed to be removed. I objected to being billed for a mistake he had made but he refused to cover the additional surgery and sent my bill to collection. A couple months later, after considerable pain in the joint an x-ray revealed the second screw had broken and the surgery needed to be redone.

I met Dr.Vora almost 8 years ago, he has operated on both my feet several times . Dr Vora is extremely thorough in all area of patient care. He is very easy to speak with and has left me walking with a smile .

As a patient who has had many foot surgeries, I can't praise Dr. Vora enough. I have a complicated history but he always takes time to answer all my questions thoroughly. He is very professional yet friendly, kind, and patient. I have had 2 surgeries. First to reconstruct my foot then a total ankle replacement. The Infinity Total Ankle Replacement (TAR) fit perfectly. I now walk without a cane and no pain in the ankle. I live an hour away from Libertyville but I am so glad I found Dr. Vora.

Top foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon in the Chicago area. Fixed my Achillies mid-substance tear Jan 2017. Great surgeon and great person on top of it. Truly cares about his patients. Highly highly recommend him for any foot and ankle orthopedic problem you have. He knows the latest techniques and is as skillful as any surgeon in the operating room. Office staff is terrific and waiting time is minimal at best - I showed up early to my appointment and they saw me before my appointment time

I would most gladly recommend Dr. Vora to friends and family. His compassion and interest in my condition (a ruptured Achilles tendon) put me at ease as did his confidence in what he was to do. His follow up care was the same and I consider him the best surgeon that I have dealt with (and I have dealt with many).

I saw Dr Vora because of how well he treated my wife for a previous problem with her broken leg and also hearing of the IBJI commitment to patient health and well being. Dr. Vora's reputation as one of the best surgeons for my ankle problem was a determining factor for my choice in a provider. Dr Vora, took great care in analyzing my ankle and diagnosing the correct procedure to restore my ankle to full pain free use again. This is the first surgery I had on my right foot. The foot had multiple issues-- a bunion, what appeared to be an "arthritic" big toe, and two "hammer toes" that caused me to feel like a marble was on the bottom of my foot generating pain when walking. I just had my six week post-op and all issues are gone. Dr. Vora is a medical wizard, a kind wizard who has a great bedside manner. I think he is one-of-a-kind. He also repaired my left foot which had four previous surgeries elsewhere.

I highly recommend Dr. Vora . I was referred to him by my previous Ortho who performed an Achilles repair that failed and he wasn't comfortable trying to fix again. Dr. Vora was confident he could fix it and he did. He is a very compassionate Dr., never seems rushed and truly cares about his patients. I drove 45 minutes to his office and it was well worth it. I've sent several people to him and they are all as grateful for him as I am. Don't hesitate, he's the best!

Dr. Vora is not only an amazingly skilled surgeon but also a compassionate, genuinely caring person and a humble man. I had tendon surgery and the results are amazing! I had very little pain after the surgery and my recovery has been 3X faster than I expected. I had the best experience that I could have imagined and I am forever grateful for the excellent care. I definitely recommend Dr. Vora . I cannot say enough good things about this amazing orthopedic surgeon and his staff!!

Amazing Doctor! I had ankle reconstruction surgery by minimally invasive procedure, I was able to walk in week 2, able to come back to normal activities in week 3, and back to sports in week 7! Amazing experience with Dr. Vora! Super!

Fantastic surgeon and fixed the my foot after others couldn't help

I am a competitive triathlete / runner suffering with haglund's deformity in both heels. I was very nervous to proceed with surgery. I have never had any prior in my life. (40 yrs old). Dr. Vora was professional, and extremely attentive to me and all my concerns. He never made me feel rushed, or like he had to be somewhere else. He told me exactly what I could hope to expect and thus far have been recovering better then i would have ever thought possible. I'm so happy i did this.
