I have never been more disappointed with any medical experience. After waiting over 45 minutes, Dr. Tack gave me about 3 minutes of time. He didn't care enough to listen or let me explain my back issues. Not helpful at all. He had such a blatant disrespect for his patients and their time. STAY AWAY!!

Dr. Tack and staff at Illinois Bone and Joint were amazing! They really made me felt comfortable. I have see many doctors for my chronic Lower Back Pain and Dr. Tack was the first one who made me feel heard and listened too!

Worst Dr I have ever seen. He had a attitude like he was above me and he really didn't care about me. He actually said my symptoms of a headache and necknpain were the same as his wife who had a brain tumor. Jumped right to that. Never tried to diagnose anything. I went to see Dr. Tack for a second opinion. He communicated clearly to me, provided me options, and suggested I get current films. He requested that I come back with the films and he would offer his professional opinion of what could be done to address my pain. Dr. Tack is very thorough and kind. He has an excellent bed side manner. The doc went over my x-rays with me in a way that was easy to follow to pinpoint the cause behind my back pain. Furthermore, he offered logical solutions. I’d highly recommend him for anyone who is having any kind of pain. The waiting room was very crowded and loud. My appointment also ran 45 minutes late. Other than that, I still think this is a great place to go if you are experiencing pain in any of your bones or joints. Thanks! Dr. Tack is very thorough and kind. Very satisfied , friendly staff, and competent

Surgery went well, very little pain. Recovery is going well.

Dr. Tack was great, to the point with my problem with my back. Gave a solution an let me know what I need to do.

dr Tack performed cervical fusion on me last year. I have 100% relief from all my problems. I He is the BEST.

The Dr and staff Did a fine job explaining everything, was confident that surgery, cervical fusion, would fix my pain,and it did, surgery was a success. Talented surgeon. Highly recommend.

As always, I received very thorough and conscientious treatment by everyone at IBJI. I’ve been a number of physicians over the years (all have been great) but Dr. Tack is always so responsive. He’s an excellent surgeon and physician!

Dr.Tack is thorough and explains the issue/ issues quite plainly. The Dr. replaced my hip 4 years ago and I’m very pleased with the result. I am now in the process of having Dr. Tack examine my sciatica problem on the other leg. I have complete trust in Dr. Tack.

Doctor Tack was amazing! He took time explaining the procedure and went over every single detail. He knew I was very nervous and he took the time and kindness to make everything at ease. The operation was a tremendous success and now finally I am pain free. I wasn’t treated like a number and I would recommend Dr Tack to all!!! Seemed like the DR was too busy to actually listen and meet with me. Literally my entire visit was less than 5 minutes. He barely listened - ushered me to another nurse to make a MRI appointment and left. Got my MRI and radio silence. I've called them 4 times for my results. No reply. Just found out today that I have to schedule a face to face appointment with him to find out the results! No one said a thing and no one has called me back. By the way - if he's "burried" as the nurse said - then don't accept new patients!

Just don't even bother!!! wrost experience ever we wore in his office for 20 minutes and that's including the wait time we had the MRI and didn't bother to check the MRI

Dr Tack was ignorant and inappropriate with me in his exam room. He has no respect for other professionals in the medical community. He didn't even know how to view MRI images, saying that the images were too blurry and insulting the radiology staff where I had the MRI done. I took the same disc to another doctor who knew how to read MRI images and was able to diagnose the problem right away and do what needed to be done to give me pain relief. Don't waste your time and money. Find another opinion. Dr. Tack didn't care about my situation at all. I've been experiencing chronic severe back pain for over 20 years and it is now affecting my job, so I went for an evaluation. Took an x-ray only to have him say he doesn't know why I'm in pain and that all of my other doctor's diagnoses are wrong. I asked for a release to return to work, with or without restrictions, and he refused. He just coldly told me if I can't do the job then find a new line of work....I think he should follow his own advice. Don't waste your time and money. Find another opinion. The Dr was kind to me . He made sure to keep me informed on everything. I had to have disc replacement surgery and I am recovering from it . The dr told me how I would feel after surgery and he was 100 percent right. I wasn't surprised at all . I would recommend him . Hes great!

I accompanied my mother to her appointment to see Dr Tack. From the moment he walked in he came across as extremely arrogant with a rude bed side manner. My mother has had back pain for years but recently has become worse. My mother is hard worker and has had to call off many times due to severe back pain that radiates down her legs. She has trouble sleeping as she wakes up in pain. Dr Tack then asked " Well, what would you like me to do, an xray"? I replied " Shouldn't you be the one to decide what needs to be done"? He was not happy with me and it was obvious. After the xray, he stated that he couldn't see anything wrong with her back. Gave her muscle relaxers & told her to take ibuprofen. I explained to my mother that this was wrong and he didn't seem to care. I called around and was able to get her into a new physician. Turns out she has 3 herniated disc among a couple other issues. She had to have surgery. I would not recommend Tack. With an ego of his magnitude - STAY FAR AWAY!!

Worse doctor experience, horrible attitude and bedside manner. My husband was in horrible pain and could not walk, stand, sit. After running 45 minutes late for appointment Dr Tack came in for two minutes at most. Checked my husbands knee reflexes and said well its just acute pain, no disc issues and walked out while we were asking him questions. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr tack practices very inappropriate habits w his patients. He lies to patients, barely acknowledges the patient and even goes so far as to openly and freely say disparaging remarks about other medical professionals.

Dr Tack is a really good doctor, I've seen him on 2 occasions and will be seeing him again in a couple weeks .. I was referred to him by the my workers comp insurance company for the purpose of an IME. He has been supportive of the treatments I've received so far and if I lived closer I would have him as my own Dr .. We recently visited Dr. Tack and he is extremely rude. My husband has been struggling with severe back issues for over 2 years and a mass was discovered on his hip. We were referred to Dr. Tack by another doctor and this was one of the worst experiences we have had. He didn't seem to listen or care about my husband's situation and was overall an incredibly rude doctor. I would not recommend and we will not be going back. I will be seeking a second opinion on my husband's situation from someone who can offer more guidance, compassion and hopefully a solution to end my husband's pain in a more professional manner. Dr. Tack is an amazing specialist. Our family has been more than satisfied with both his kind manner and academic knowledge for over 10 years.

I originally saw Dr. Tack for degenerative disk disease that had been diagnosed in 05 by another dr. (First time seeing Dr.Tack in 2010 for diagnostics after falling on ice). He was very upfront and honest for treatments at the time. Explaining in detail my original back diagnosis (which the other Dr. Did not do). He was open about me not being a candidate for any surgeries at that stage of my life. When discussing options for a better quality of life as the DDD progressed, he didn't try and push physical therapy. Stating he could show me the different pt conditioning so that I didn't waste any time or more money that I didn't have or extra time wasted. He also was very much a progressive thinker in using yoga. Which was so much more helpful and better use of my time. I then had a fall down my stairs a couple of months later and he was quick and detailed regarding my injury and treatment (which ended up having to be surgery on my arm and the ulner tunnel). I was losing feeling in my right hand, punky, ring and middle finger fast. Within a month from my fall after all diagnostic tests were done I was in having surgery and the feelings in the hand and fingers were cleared up and back within the year. After all this Dr. Amazing ability and professionalism I moved out of state and when it finally became clear that I would need back surgery I wished he was able to come here and perform it. I had a foranotamy and another procedure for my L5 S1 due to loss of feeling in my left leg. There was also an issue of the disk rubbing on my spinal cord. I fully believe that had I had Dr. Tack or my 2nd surgeon perform my first surgery I probably wouldn't have had the 2nd one within 2 and a half years (2nd one L4/L5 S1/S2. Dr. Tack and my current spinal specialist (here in WA. State) are by far top in their field. I would recommend Dr. Tack 100%. Dr Stanford Tack performed L5 S1 on my lower back in mid November 2017, i was suffering from this pain for four years with two previous cortizone shots from a different dr. which never helped me. After my laminecyomy/discectomy in mid November i was completly pain free by Christmas the following month! He is a great surgeon! As of April 2018 i feel absolutely NO PAIN AT ALL! I would recommend him highly and see him again for any problem with my back immediately. Oh, he also replaced a disc in my neck in 2011 and the radiating pain in my neck and down my arm was completely gone by 2 weeks. Thank you Dr. Stanford Tack!!!! Dr. Tack is one of the most compassionate Doctors I've ever had the pleasure of being seen by. My husband and I travelled from Central Illinois just so Dr. Tack could do the surgery my husband needed. His skill is un-matched in his field. As far as his bed side manner, I think it's excellent. I had to have the same surgery as my husband did over 5 years ago and I would give anything for a do over and have Dr. Tack do the surgery, and as for people who rate a doctor on personality shame on you. This doctor is working on your spinal cord. He has a serious personality, one of great caring and I see only great compassion in every fiber of his being. Dr. Tack was patient, attentive, & kind from my first visit with him to my last. I had a bulging disc, two actually, & at first, we were going to try shots & physical therapy. Something must have happened because the pain became unbearable, resulting in an ER visit at 3 AM. Anyway, my wife called IBJI & left a message for Dr. Tack, who called her back pretty much right away from his home--I'm not sure many doctors would do this--& we scheduled arthroplasty. The next day I was all better!

One of the best, straight to the point, no small talk doctors I have ever encountered. Within minutes of reviewing my MRI he found the problem that two other doctors never saw, did a L4/L5 fusion surgery & ended my years of pain. Recovery was easy, all you have to do is walk! I was walking 2 miles a day 4 weeks after surgery. Thank you Dr. Tack

Went to see Dr Tack for pain in my neck. At my visit he never even looked at or did any type of exam of my neck. Suggested I take Aleve for 2 weeks. I asked about doing an MRI because I had been in pain for over 3 months. He said "an MRI won't show anything". I saw another Dr who prescribed the MRI. I had 1 bulging disc and 2 herniated discs. Clearly something that shows on an MRI. His arrogance during appt was only outdone by his arrogance in not responding to my question of his MRI statement.

Dr. Tack reviewed my x-rays and MRI's and recommended fusion surgery for my back issues (L4--L5). He explained all the options very clearly. The surgery went very well. Three months later I am progressing nicely with physical therapy. I am very impressed with Dr. Stanford Tack and the amazing team at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. I am looking forward to further improvement. Many thanks to their whole team!

I had to see Dr. Tack due to a workers comp claim. The appointment had to be rescheduled twice due to his office's request, 6 weeks later we met to have him conduct his evaluation. You would think or hope after that long of a period a doctor would have taken the consideration to read the reports that were provided to him. After 1.5 hours, he entered and promptly said I reached maximum medical improvement. I suppose if you are paying him for surgery he's fine, but if it's a W.C. case, forget it

I had two bad disks in my neck that were causing some pinched nerves in my right shoulder. Dr. Tack and his staff worked with our insurance to get a double disk replacement instead of the usual fusion for someone my age. The surgery went well, went home without a neck brace, and never had to take the prescribed pain meds. Within a week I was out walking and building up strength. Within four weeks any small little related pains were gone, and within six weeks back to physical job unrestricted.

I was lucky to have gone outside of the North Shore system to have my back operated on by this fine Dr. My Dr. at NS refused to believe that my continued and worsening pain was to due to the 2 surgeries he did on my spine.After MRIsCTs& Xrays-he still insisted he was right.I went to Tack with the same films&he immediately saw the problem&I was operated on. From the 1st 2 surgeries,pieces were everywhere.DrTack not only fixed my back,he also found a postionous NS piece embedded in me,saving me.

Dr. does a great job. My surgery was a good experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Tack. He really know his job. Everything went very smooth and not at all stressful.

I just experienced the scariest surgery of my life-had to have a spinal fusion for my lower back. Surgery was my last resort but I couldn't live with the constant pain in my lower back and legs. I am 3 months post surgery & I feel great! It was a tough recovery-but totally worth it! The leg pain has been gone since day 1 post surgery! And, at 8-10 weeks post surgery, I began to feel "normal" again. Still working on stamina & leg strength, but I am free of the horrible, constant pain. Thanks, Dr.

I would avoid Dr Tack. Also the Nurse had nothing to say wouldnt look you in the eyes.
