Dr. Sonnen is a rarity. He loves his work with children, and it shows. While managing the pediatric patient is itself a task, he also artfully juggles the worries of the parents all while formulating a clear plan of care that respects patient and parents alike. Neither is left feeling untended to. It takes a true gift to do what he does day in and day out with a consistent demeanor. Moreover, he accommodates cultural, behavioral, and lifestyle differences. While he always champions the healthcare ideal, he extends flexibility when patients are not quite there and shares information with patients/parents from a place of edification and support. Our children are patients of Dr. Sonnen and we really like him because he is thorough and actively listens to what our kids have to say about how they are feeling emotionally and physically. His nurses are responsive and very friendly. Dr. Sonnen is direct and extremely knowledgeable, both qualities that are very important to parents with a complex and high risk child. Dr. Sonnen is great. I have been in the medical field for 25 years. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. My son has been seeing him for 14 years, wouldn't go anywhere else. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review. My son saw Dr. Sonnen from the time he was born in March of 2002. He is now an adult off at college and had to see an "adult" doctor there. He said it felt weird, and sure did miss being able to see Dr. Sonnen. That is a testament, when a kid misses his doctor. I have a 2 year old and 9 month old. Both of my children have been with him since birth. Dr. Sonnen as well as his front office staff have squeezed us in at a moments notice and have always been so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Sonnen is pretty straight forward and his main focus and priority (as it should be) are the children and there health. He always takes time to answer my questions and fully educate me. I never have long waits and the front office staff is friendly and on top of there game. Billing is also never an issue. They are great at keeping on top of what I owe and also issuing credits if need be. I never have to question or give push back when it comes to billing. His bed side manner is awful. He comes off as condescending while in fact he is probably just no nonsense. Provides good care but I'm sick of being talked to like I'm stupid.

Wonderful pediatrician, we have been going to him since our first born was a few days old (7 years ago) and have brought our other 3 children to him as our family has grown. He is very kind and knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about the kids. We couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

Dr Sonnen has been taking care of our family for the past 13 years and has been amazing. His diagnoses are always on target. He is thorough, patient and listens well to child and parent.

We love Dr. Sonnen! He is very knowledgeable and I trust him completely. I have taken my daughter to him for 16 years. I recommend him to everyone I know that is looking for a pediatrician.

Dr. Sonnen has been our pediatrician for seven years and he has been fantastic for our children. Extremely knowledgeable and calming bedside manner, which is key in those stressful times when you need a doctor when illness strikes. The kids really enjoy seeing him for wellness visits.

Our son has been with Dr. Sonnen for 17 years, he will graduate this year and move to college and sadly he will have to find a new doctor. Dr Sonnen has literally seen us through it all and I do mean IT ALL. You can't ask for a more attentive and caring Dr. He doesn't BS around, he's to the point, which we like. I have recommended him to several family and friends through out our years with him. He's the best in our book. Wife is a pediatric icu nurse and finds him more knowledgeable than any other pediatric Doctor we have met.

Office staff is unprofessional. Short with parents. Short with the kids. Once you get to Dr Sonnen, he was great. Very knowledgeable, a little quirky, but my kid adores him! He asks my child the questions and doesn't strictly rely on me. LOVE THIS! Ultimately, the front office staff was the deal breaker, and we moved onto new horizons. The front office staff is off-putting, and that's me stating it nicely. Both my husband and I were treated poorly on separate visits.

Very easy going doctor. My pre-teen boys are very comfortable talking to him.

I'm so glad we found Dr. Sonnen. He was the best resource when we became parents. On our first appointment he wanted to know how mom was doing as well as baby. He goes out of his way to answer all our questions. When our second daughter was less than a week old he found a heart murmur that the hospital doctors had missed, which lead to open heart surgery. While we were in the hospital he called us to see how we were doing. There's nobody else I would want treating my kids.

The staff answering the phone are incredibly rude and lack any social skill whatsoever.
