She could not care less about what patients have to say. I explained to her that I wanted to kill myself and her only response was "oh, no you don't." With this attitude, she must have blood on her hands. If you want your loved one to be safe and cared for, do NOT send them to "Dr." Balsam.

This doctor is cold as ice and snippy. I like a doctor who is professional, but approachable and not like a robot. I always felt like I was bothering her if I needed something between appointments. She charges $400/hr., takes no insurance, and half the time I was in with her, her nose was in my files. Little eye contact. Five minutes of every appointment is spent on her writing a bill and running my credit card through -- in other words, I was paying for her time to pay her for my appointment. No thank you.

I would highly recommend this doctor without reservation.She is dedicated, knowledgeable and works tirelessly on behalf of her patients.For years, in between sessions, she has counseled me frequently by phone at no charge. She has an outstanding reputation, yet is down-to-earth, warm and caring.
