Love OrthoIndy and Dr. Monesmith! They have an excellent staff, always friendly and make you feel at ease. My husband has had both knees replaced and I just had my right knee replaced and neither of us had any problems. I will only go to Dr. Monesmith for any further hip or knee issues. He's the best.

I have just had my second knee replacement done by Dr Monesmith. The first one had a great outcome and the second one is progressing even better than the first. Being able to have my surgery done at the Southside location was a nice change. I would highly recommend Dr Monesmith for knee replacement surgery.

Every step I took was painful. Not anymore!!! My hip was shot. Dr. Monesmith put me a new one in and I am very happy with his work!! Had me walking 3hrs after surgery. I got better every day afterwards. I’m 90 days post surgery in the past seven days I have hiked 12 miles with over 1000 ft of climbing and have ridden 50+ miles on my bicycle. My advice. Dr. Monesmith was friendly, caring, and provided great information in terms that were easy to understand. His suggestions for treatment made a lot of sense.

One of my best experiences in a Dr.'s office, ever! All of my concerns and questions were addressed. I felt they really listened to me! I have complete confidence in Dr. Monesmith, and his staff!

Only waited approximately 5 minutes. I left feeling as though someone actually listened to me! All questions and concerns were addressed, professionally, and with courtesy and respect! I have high regard for Dr. Monesmith and his awesome staff!

I have had many knee problems with led to a total knee Replacement Surgery for my Right Knee in 2003. Most Doctors will tell you that the replacements will last about 10 years. However, I am still going strong on mine without any problems with it whatsoever. Dr. Monesmith has been my surgeon for a very long time and he doesn't sugarcoat the truth. He does not lie to you or tell you what you want to hear. He is also is not the kind of dr. Who will do anything just to get the money ( even if he can help you with out making a dime off you except the copay lol) I am the kind of person that DOES NOTtrust Doctors . But if I really trust one of the drs and really believe in them, I will recommend them to my family and friends. In fact I just sent my neighborto dr. Monesmith for her knee and as soon as she is ready she's going to have him do it. He will tell you that he can send you to other doctors he knows that will do the surgery right now. He gives you the choice, but if he tells me I need to lose some weight before he will do the surgery on me , then I think I am going to listen to him!!! Large facility, plenty of staff, easily accessible and moved from room to room efficiently and quickly.

Very quick and friendly. I was there only 30 and even got exrays done in that time. Wow

This was my first experience and I found Dr. Monesmith to be both friendly and professional. I was seen in a timely manner which is always important to me.

Dr. Monosmith and his staff are all very co-operative and professional. I have had my 4th knee surgery, and it being full replacement. 2 months later, my knee is better than it has been in 44 years. Thank You!

Dr. Monesmith did a great job on the full replacement of my left knee. He was recommend to me by my sister who he had done a full knee replacement for in her early 50's. She spoke very highly of him. As young as I am, I had a number of questions about the longevity of the replacement. He answered all my questions and was very helpful with tips on how to stay active to maintain the integrity of the replacement. I always felt I was in good hands. I would recommend him to everyone.

From my first visit to my last visit Dr Monesmith and all the staff at Orth Indy made my at home and assured me that my hip surgery would go just fine. After surgery all my pain was gone and during recovery there wasn't any pain. i feel like a new man and feels like i got my youth back. I can not think them enough for getting me back to normal and my life is 100 % better. They are the best.

Monesmith was not helpful. He was in a hurry; didn't take time to listen carefully or answer my questions. His behavior was arrogant and condescending. I would not recommend him, particularly for older patients.

Dr. Monesmith replaced my knee in September 2019. Everything went well but 6 months later I fell and ruptured my patellar tendon in the same knee. Fortunately, Dr. Monesmith was able to put my knee back together and today I am able to walk and walk without pain. I am very grateful for the work he and his staff performed. I was fully informed (or my wife while I was unable to discuss things immediately after surgery) by Dr. Monesmith. I fully recommend him as a surgeon to repair your knees.

Dr. Monesmith is a really good surgeon and most personable. He performed a knee replacement for me and then had to repair a ruptured patellar tendon in the same knee 6 months later after I fell. I now walk well with no pain which was not guaranteed after my fall. The entire process was good, I always knew what to expect and his staff is as good as he is. If you need a knee replacement, I highly recommend Dr. Monesmith.

Just met Dr. Monesmith yesterday at my first Ortho Indy appointment and I am already scheduled for surgery this month. Very impressed so far.

Dr. Monesmith performed a total hip replacement on me last year. I had “end stage osteoarthritis” which was bone on bone in my hip joint. I went from being barely able to walk unassisted at age 64 from my car to my front door to now walking 5 miles at a time pain free. The surgery went extremely well and I went home the next day. I required NO physical therapy afterwards. Since my surgery I went on a river cruise in Europe, navigated all the airports walking on my own, and participated in walking tours of the villages at each stop on the cruise. For me, this has been nothing short of a miracle. After several years of being unable to sleep well at night due to the constant pain, I can now rest again. At my first appointment Dr. Monesmith was direct and said after seeing my x-rays that I only had 2 choices: live like I had been (in pain) or opt for the hip replacement. He said only I would know when I was ready. I was ready that day. I appreciated his direct way of speaking and that there was zero pressure to have the surgery. I have recently had 2 Total Hip Replacement surgeries this year and fully regret waiting so long to make my appointment. Dr. Monesmith took a lot of time answering all my questions and even asked me questions at times which helped me to get a better understanding. My first surgery went so well that it removed any apprehensions I had before having the second hip done and was looking forward to getting it done and behind me. I would highly recommend and I have already even recommended Dr. Monosmith along with Ortho Indy Hosp. to several people I know who need hip/knee surgery. I have also had so many friends that seen my situation prior and they have all been in awe at the progress they too have seen since my surgeries. The care I received at Ortho Indy was very good and I made so many new friends at the same time. Not all surgeries have to bring bad experiences with them.

Went in to urgent care because I was having issues with knee pain. They were great when I went in for that and told Me my kneecap wasn’t tracking right and not going back where it should. They recommended a few things to do and sent me on my way. Fast forward to about 4 months later and my knee was hurting worse. Fearing that I tore something by favoring it, and because it locked up on me, I tried to go to urgent care again. This time they wouldn’t see me since it was an ongoing issue and told me I had to make and appointment. I made one with dr. Monesmith. When I went in I was told there was a $45 co-pay. I didn’t have one the first time so I thought that was odd but not out of the realm of possible. I sat in the waiting from for a couple of minutes before being taken back. I then sat in the back waiting on the dr. For about 3 minutes total, again not bad. He comes in and says “I can tell you what your problem is” I said I already know what you’re going to say but go ahead. He said “ your to big and weigh to much. And that (pointing at my Fitbit) isn’t going to help you”. He then went on to tell me to take fish oil and read a book about dieting.He didn’t even look at my old xrays or have me get new ones to see if anything had changed or anything. I’ve been big all my life and my knee just recently out of nowhere started hurting. He “saw” me for a total of about 2 minutes. He was the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever heard of or been to. I call him Eric because I feel so comfortable with him and will never recommend another surgeon. In 2012 I had a total hip replacement and it went flawless, back to work in a month. Fast forward to 2015, my right hip was impinged and he said it would be 2-3 years before I was done with, he was right. I was close to being disabled. November 15 2018 I had my right hip replaced, exactly 2 months later I have already been back to work. Zero pain pills and feel the best I have felt since college. Had to have both knees replaced due to OsteoArthritis. I was in pain, walking bone on bone. Had BOTH knees done at the same time and couldn't have made a better decision. Dr. Monesmith explained everything that would happen and that the recovery would be 3 months, (doing one knee or both). Just do the exercises! Was back to work in 3 months. I recommend Dr. Monesmith and his staff at OrthoIndy to everyone.

During both my appointments with Dr. Monesmith, he was very thorough and spent time answering questions for both my husband and I. We appreciated his honesty and down to earth attitude, and felt he truly cared about our concerns.

Very dismissive. Doesn't listen to you at all. Doesn't seem to care about you at all. Wants to get in and out as fast as he can. Directs you to his website and little else.

Dr.Monesmith was dismissive of my concerns. Told me to come back when I was ready for surgery. Handed me a paper with his website on it. When I inquired about physical therapy, he told me to go to his website. This appointment was a total waste of time and money.

I injured my knees 40 yrs ago but being wife mom and nurse put off till lt knee bending in and bone on bone. Dr. Monesmith did Lt TKR it is wonderful he is amazing did DNA swab to find what medication best for me. All staff went above and beyond Taking care of me . I'm 64 yrs old my 1 st surgery. Can't say enough how great

Dr. Monesmith is an excellent Dr. Explains everything very well. Recovery time was minimal after hip replacement. Would diffently recommend him as your Dr.

Dr monasmith treats you like a client and not a patient. He is a businessman and he's trying to run a business and whatever he has to do to put his kids through college. In my opinion he does not provide professional Healthcare for his patience.

He explained the process very well as it pertained to my TKR. The staff at OrthoIndy were wonderful including my physical therapist. I love that Dr Monesmith did the DNA testing to ensure they gave me the best pain meds. And it works. Def would recommend Dr Monesmith and OrthoIndy.

I was in PAIN for over 10 years. My chiropractor got me a MRI and after seeing the Mri he got me an app.at Dr. Monesmith. I went there and talk to him , he looked at all the xrays, MRI and said I needed surgery .He said it was bad enough for a total hip replacement. So I did got a app. did the surgery on September 12 at 4:00 pm and went home September 13 by 12:00 pm the next day! And the only pain was the surgery pain all hip, knee, legg pain was GONE!! Why did I ever wait? Great hospital staff

Dr. Monesmith has replaced both of my knees.He has turned knees I could not trust into knees that allow me to walk with confidence. His knowledge and professionalism made this journey a complete sucess. His surgical talent and pain management program makes the process worth all the work. Dr. Monesmith listens very well, explains what is going on and how he will treat the problem. His work is outstanding! He has replaced two hips for me and I am definitely a new man since being treated by Dr. Monesmith. The entire OrthoIndy system is efficient, friendly and very good at what they do.

7 years ago, and 61/2 years ago Dr. Monesmith did a knee replacement on both of my knee' s. I would highly recommend Dr. Monesmith. Since my recovery I have had NO problems and NO pain with either joint replacement. I love my new knee's. NO pain,. Thanks you Dr. Monesmith.

He knows what he is doing, and he is so nice and calming. When I do the second knee, he will be the Doctor doing it.
