All staff and Doctors are nice and professional they answered all questions. There is not a long wait to see the Dr

My experience at OrthoIndy has been top notch. Dr. Farr, and his PA, Brendan as well as the rest of their team have been nothing but excellent!

It has now been two full years since my partial-knee replacement and I could not be happier with my results. VERY soon after my procedure I went from constant pain to ZERO pain, and have held that status ever since. Dr. Farr has been nothing but professional with me, and his staff has as well. The partial-knee replacement procedure hasn't been around all that long, but I think it is a great alternative to having a total knee replacement, at least for certain patients. For me it was the best choice, as I am in my low-50's but still actively playing basketball on weekends and also walking between 12-20K steps per day. I also do a lot of stairs and now have ZERO pain. For a couple decades my knee sounded like Rice Krispies as I did stairs (snap/crackle/pop) and now there is zero of that. A true blessing indeed. Dr. Farr performed partial knee replacement on both my knees and an ACL graft repair on my left knee. He listened to my history of playing sports and staying active, ensuring the ACL repair would give me a knee I can depend on even though I was in my 50s at the time. A close friend younger than me who had an ACL tear and meniscus damage only had her knee scoped by her Columbus surgeon and she's in just as much pain now as before her surgery. I can ride my bike 20 miles and stay fit now. I trust Dr. Farr and am so thankful to have found him back in 2011. He's retiring in two years so if you need surgery, go see him now! His office is run beautifully and efficiently and his staff is wonderful. I like that Dr. Farr didn't suggest a full knee operation for either knee because even I could see in x-rays I still had good spacing on the outside of both joints. I didn't want more surgery than I needed. Dr. Farr is the best!! Trust him; you'll be glad you did!!

After being told for months that my knee was just dislocated and four orthopedic doctors later, I finally was referred to Dr. Farr. Not a single doctor I had looked at my knee and knew how to help with my issue but kept referring me to different doctors. One visit with Dr. Farr and he immediately knew what to do and I am healing great. I am so appreciative to have found Dr. Farr.

After visiting three local orthopedic doctors, I was told Dr. Farr was the one surgeon who might be able to assist with my knees which have been a lifelong challenges. After two surgeries it appears Dr. Farr was able to correct problems from previous operations and accidents. He has given hope that my mobility can increase because of his skill and knowledge. His expertise leads to procedures for those like me that others doctors can’t or won’t take on. Dr. Farr is known in his field for leading in research. The fact that Dr. Farr take on unique and difficult cases indicates that he is in it for the love of the work and the desire to improve patients' lives and not for the sake of money like others. He and his staff work efficiently but take definite interest in individual needs. I am grateful and couldn't recommend him more highly!

Please look into all reviews. Do your homework. It’s been over 15 years since my dads surgery- he’s still battling constant pain and an infection in his bone.

I was waiting for two years after the surgery to write this review. I want to see the long-term result of the surgery. I was very active in sport all my life: soccer, volleyball, etc. But in my mid-50th, after a couple of arthroscopic surgeries on my meniscus my sport activates came to the end. I start having the pain in my right knee even when I walk. Two orthopedic surgeons and their physician assistances from OrthoIndy told me that my only option is a total knee replacement because my meniscus is practically gone. Fortunately, one of these surgeons recommended to see Dr. Farr as one of the best knee surgeons in Indy. Thankfully, I follow his advice. After reviewing my x-rays and MRI, Dr. Farr said that he believes the problem is not with the meniscus but rather with the microfractures of femur and tibia. He recommended bone marrow’s stem-cell injection into the bones and the meniscus. After that stem-cell injection I did not see much improvement for the first few months, like Dr. Farr warned me. But then, gradually, I started feel better. One year passed and I started playing volleyball again. Now, two years after the injection I play tennis, volleyball twice a week and even soccer, once a week. The pain is totally gone. After several years of increasing anterior knee pain which was interfering with stairs cycling and hiking I realized that I would need a knee replacement.Being an MD myself I felt that my best option would be an anterior knee replacement and since it is not a very popular procedure in the US I sought out the care of one the national experts in anterior knee care. I met Dr Farr at OrthoIndy and his expertise was obvious and OrthoIndy is a well oiled machine. I booked my surgery and had great care.I am 4 years post surgery and am pain free and riding 30 to 90 miles with a cycling club and no one would know I had knee replacement if I didn’t tell them.180 degrees of extension and of 135 degrees of flexion. I am a 63 high activity, sports, tennis, MTbike riding, Black run Snow skier. I thought surgery was a given, not if, but when. He told me my injury's were mostly healed to normal levels. And that most likely surgery would risk more than gain. Go play until I get hurt again.

they don't care about the patient at all it's all about the money they want to do surgery on everyone to make that money they are not willing to help if you don't have surgery

Most amazing knee doctor I've ever had the pleasure of being a patient of... He enabled me to do more than the Steelers surgeon who was apparently the most overrated doctor ever. Dr. Farr is amazing. At the time, I lived in TN, so I was driving 8 hrs each way for appointments. Dr. Farr knew of this and always made sure to make the most out of the time I was there. My story is simple, what Dr. Farr was able to accomplish was not. I am a lineman by trade and just finished working a two day storm restoration and am happy to say I am pain free. I am very grateful for his innovative approach to biologic knee restoration.

I am 52 and had already had five surgeries on my right knee over the last 20 years, due to an accident where my knee cap was shattered. I heard about Dr. Farr’s partial knee replacement surgery and decided to go for it. What a great thing this was! It’s now been one year post surgery and my expectations have FAR been exceeded! I walk 10-20k steps per day, play full court basketball one night per week, walk up/down stairs and ALL pain-free. This has been a blessing, it truly has. I would recommend Dr. Farr to anyone that wants to be active and stay active, while taking care of their knee at the same time. This procedure is built for the long haul, not just a short-term fix. Arthritis had been building up so bad, along with bone spurs under my knee cap, that the pain had just become a part of my daily routine. Those days are gone and I am truly grateful to Dr. Farr for this procedure.

He was rude and has no bedside manner.

I spent several hours researching an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Indianapolis area to look at me knee. I moved from Muncie four years ago and had an excellent knee surgeon who had recently retired. After checking out many options I selected Dr. Farr and went on line to make an appointment. Within 30 minutes I received a phone call from the scheduler. After taking my vital information including age, history and insurance(not on Medicare, she said Dr. Farr did not take patients my age. I am 62

I give Dr. Farr my highest recommendation for surgical care. I am a physician myself, and regularly work with excellent surgeons in the OR as an anesthesiologist. I was referred to Dr. Farr by my local orthopedic surgeon, as he is a renowned expert treating patello-femoral problems of the knee. I travelled a long distance to have him perform a patella-femoral arthroplasty, and could not be happier with the care I received by him and his excellent staff at OrthoIndy Hospital.

Dr. Farr changes my life and got me back to where I wanted to be. I would highly recommend him to anyone having knee problems and seeking an improvement in their life.

My experience with Dr. Farr and his staff have been exemplary. He did thorough testing to find out the root of my issue (a genetic issue), and he collaborated with me on what my treatment plan would look like. When we determined surgery was needed, he took time answering all of my questions and explained the procedure and what to expect post operatively. Surgery was exactly as he said, he was on time, pleasant, and post op has been better than expected. Can’t say enough positive things!!

I cannot fathom where a negative review for Dr. Farr would come from. Dr. Farr was able to salvage a knee every physician I had encountered told me was worthless. He created a plan of care based on mutual goals, took ownership of my problem, and then dedicated himself to the solution. For an MD of his reputation, he has also made himself very easily accessible and has not sacrificed bedside manner in his journey to expertise. I am humbled by the gift that has been given back to me.

Dr. Farr really cares about helping you feel better. He takes time to discuss all your options and does not view surgery as the first course of treatment. Dr. Farr will listen to all of your questions and spends the necessary time explaining/answering them in terms that are easy to understand. I've been seeing Dr. Farr since 2009 and recommend him highly. His staff is also very helpful and courteous. I drive 80 miles to see him, it is well worth the trip!

I came to Dr Farr 8 years ago and he made my visit to Ortho Indy so comfortable. I had already been through several knee surgeries and then Dr Farr did the last one 8 years ago and I’ve not had a problem since. Very informative of the surgery procedures and what to expect afterwards. I highly recommend Dr Farr.

Treated me really nice until i started complaining something was wrong. Then blamed it on me .woudn't do any follow up testing. After 4 months went to a different clinic to find out I had Mrsa. Stay was less than 24 for knee replacement. Never again. Oh did i tell you he called me a drug seeker. Only problem with that ,i never asked for any drugs.i wanted my knee fixed. Lost my job off too much time. Thankful that terre haute bone and joint took me in after a total of 3 surgeries 4 weeks of vancomyci. Treatment thru a pic line. I finally recovered enough to return to work.Also found out he messed up a police officer shoulder and called him a drug seeker. No thanks . Dont waste your time on someone that arrogant!! Conservative approach and willing to explain, discuss, answer questions to find the best option for the patients individual situation. Didn't jump to full knee replacement which I am thankful for. With some therapy, and injections I am better.

Stay far away!!! Only wants to see patients who don't ask questions and don't mind billing their insurance for unnecessary surgeries. Dr. Farr only cares about lining his pockets.

Dr. Farr is an excellent physician. He is very professional, and an amazing surgeon! Prior to visiting Dr. Farr I visited another orthopedic surgeon, where I had a less than desirable outcome. Thanks to Dr. Farr I am pain free! He is very personalized, and will find what is best for you, as no two people are the same. I would highly recommend him to anyone having knee pain. Met with Dr Farr to discuss PFA and also injection therapy. He was polite, on time, did not rush our conversation, direct(which I appreciate), and very sharp. I will return to try to injection therapy in the near future.

Dr. Jack Farr is a wonderful doctor. I flew to see him from Virginia. He spent over an hour with me which I greatly appreciated. He took time to do a thorough physical exam and took time to take measurements from my x-ray. Dr. Farr also spent time on education and explaining things to me. He is a kind man who seems to really want to help patients that are in pain. Additionally, I appreciate that he was conservative and didn't want to immediately jump into surgery.
